Six - Manga and Messages
A/N: Short chapter. Sorry. :3
A little something for those who doesn't know (it's kind of important):
-Nico Nico Douga - a popular video sharing website in Japan created in 2006 and managed by Niwango, a subsidiary of Dwango. (Kind of like Youtube. Only it's Japanese).
-Utaite - a Japanese term for people who cover previously released songs and post them on Nico Nico Douga and YouTube under the utattemita category.
-LaLa - something like Shounen Jump but it publishes shoujo manga instead. It published mangas like Kaichou wa Maid-sama, La Corda d'Oro, Ouran High School Host Club, Vampire Knight, and Last Game.
And I featured one of my favorite manga in this chapter. The cover's at the side. :3 I really recommend you people to read it. >u<

Mashiro Yuki
"Mashiro-chan!" A familiar voice dripping with cheerfulness called out to me, making me stop on my tracks to the Anime Club's room. I turned around to face the owner who was actually unable to miss with his shiny blonde hair, handsome face, and really tall height. He was surrounded by a group of girls who were obviously members of his fanclub. When our eyes met, he waved 'hello' really energetically with a wide grin stuck on his face. He looked really happy. I wonder what happened?
I was about to greet back with the same intensity of energy when the girls turned around and faced me, varied expressions visible on their faces --- curiosity, skepticism, annoyance, and, correct me if I'm wrong, jealousy. Seeing the girl's faces placed some kind of border of up to which how much I could respond to the famous blonde. I raised my hand a little and waved, smiling at him. I gestured that I should be on my way and bowed a little, walking away from the scene.
I sighed. I had no idea if personally knowing the famous Kise Ryouta personally could be a good thing or a bad thing. I mean, I enjoy his company but being with someone famous couldn't be always great as it comes with hiccups with his fame. Example? Possessive fangirls.
"Read this, Yuki!" said Ryumi-senpai the moment I entered the club room. She was showing me a volume of a manga. I settled my bag on top of the wooden cabinet beside the wall then went closer to have a look at the manga. On the cover was a girl with her long black hair separated into two braids and a guy with blonde hair, blue eyes, and a king's crown. They were wearing school uniforms and were sitting on the guy's throne, the guy's hand around the girl's waist. The title read "LAST GAME". It's obviously a straight romance manga.
I looked at Ryumi-senpai, my eyebrows knitted together. I remember telling her that I'm only interested in Shounen Ai and Yaoi at the moment. "Ummm... Ryumi-senpai..." I had no idea how to tell her that I don't want to read it. Well, I actually wanted to read it since she recommended it but I'm not interested enough to do so. "I... uhhh... " I took out a volume of Love Stage, a popular yaoi manga, from my bag, hoping she'd get the message. She stared at me and titled her head. I looked at Fujisaki-san, who was reading the latest issue of LaLa, for help. She arranged her glasses then turned to Ryumi-senpai. "She likes yaoi, Senpai," she explained for me with that cool Nagato Yuki-ish tone. "It's impossible right now." I shot her a thankful look. She snorted with a small smile, shaking her head and continuing her reading.
Ryumi-senpai sighed, sitting on the table with her shoulders slumped. "I just wanted someone to share this fluffy feeling!" She was pouting; she looked like a cute little girl who was not given any candy by her parents. She's so moe!
"H-How about Fujisaki-san?" I suggested, glancing at the reading Fujisaki-san and sitting on the chair opposite her. It's Fujisaki-san who's really into these kind of of stuff so why me?
Ryumi-senpai lay down on the table as if it was a bed. She covered her face with the volume and let our another frustrated sigh. "It's Haruna-chan we're talking about!" Her muffled response came with heavy complaint. "The story's not new to her anymore! I couldn't fangirl with her since she's read it a long time ago and the fangirl effect won't last that long!" She groaned then rolled back and forth on the table.
"Don't talk about me as if I'm not here," said Fujisaki-san with a lopsided smile. She went back to her reading after moving away from Ryumi-senpai, protectively shielding the issue with her hand from any of Senpai's sudden movements. She'd always treat any manga she'd buy with utmost care as if it was a fragile treasure.
I felt a little sympathetic with Senpai; I know how it felt when it comes to boy's love. I don't have anyone to fangirl with at home and at my class. I'm a closet fujoshi. Only my big brother, Ki-chan (a friend back in middle school), and the Anime Club members know about my little secret. Yaoi is kind of taboo in the present society. Ryumi-senpai has always been the one I fangirl with.
And so, I made a decision to pay back Ryumi-senpai's kindness and friendship. I took a deep breath and called her attention. "Um... Ryumi-senpai?"
She pushed down the volume, revealing her teary but pretty golden eyes and long wet eyelashes. "Yes?" she responded with a whiny tone. I could even hear the pout in her voice.
For a moment, I hesitated. It's not like I have to fangirl a lot with the manga, right? I just have to understand the story. Maybe it's okay if I star a little away from yaoi for a while. And maybe I could pair two guys in the story (since I heard that love triangles are pretty common in shoujo manga). I strengthened the determination planted inside of me. "I'll read it," I announced.
Fujisaki-san stopped reading to stare at me with a look of surprise. Ryumi-senpai sat up with sparkling eyes.
"Kyaaa~!" She cupped my hands into her slightly larger ones. I couldn't help but look into her topaz orbs glistening with contagious delight and her lips curled up in utter excitement. Even I felt myself smile and my mood lighten despite my wavering decision. "Thank you so much, Yuki-chan!" she chimed, swaying side to side. She was probably daydreaming about the said manga that placed her into this state.
"Tuturu~♪" came a cute familiar voice as my phone in my skirt's pocked vibrated, alerting me that I have a new message. It seemed to get Ryumi-senpai out of her trance as she hopped down from the table and rushed to the club's bookshelf filled with a lot of manga, light novels, anime DVD's, visual novels, and video games. Those stuff were collected by the Anime Club's members. It was a tradition that before we could enter the club, we must contribute to the collection. I think it would suit the club better if we named it 'Otaku Club'. But then again, otakus aren't exactly in good terms with the society...
"Cute ringtone. That's from Stein;s Gate, right?" asked Fujisaki-san, her voice filled with interest. I smiled at her and nodded, confirming her guess. She nodded thoughtfully before returning to her reading.
I took out my phone to check the messages. Come to think of it, I haven't checked the phone since lunch time. I opened it and it revealed that I got two messages from Kise-kun, one from my big brother, one from Yuu-chan, and two from Ki-chan. Maybe I should check my phone more often.
I started checking from the newest to the oldest. Kise-kun sent messages about how his day went and that he was going to basketball training. It's probably a message sent to all of his fangirls. I'd probably reply later. We've been kind of text buddies these past few days. Though Kise-kun's famous --- being a basketball player who's part of the 'Genaration of Miracles' and a magazine model, he was really friendly and fun to talk to. I could pretty much understand why he has lots of admirers and fans.
I read Onii-tan's message next. He just ordered me to buy some miso for dinner tonight since he thought he was going to go home late due to their basketball practice in his university.
Yuu-chan, the friend I visited in Seirin and the person I was trying to get Kuro-tan be in a relationship with, replied to my message yesterday. She said that tomorrow's no good for a visit due to her club activities. Bummer. Maybe she's just scared that I'd do something reckless to her again since I left her alone in the gym last week? Well, that's not stopping me from my matchmaking mission!
I then read Ki-chan's (her name's actually Saki) messages. The first was about how a composer she admired in Nico Nico Douga complimented her composed song. Apparently, Ki-chan's an aspiring composer who sometimes sings covers of songs (and a few of her songs). She could also play a few instruments! I see her as a talented composer-utaite-musician. Judging by the way she texted me, I could sense the excitement she felt as she typed the message. Unconciously, a wide grin crept to my face.
I opened her second message. It was about---
OH MY GLOB.
I immediately checked the time.
OH MY FREAKING GLOB.
I rushed and took my bag from the wooden cabinet, carelessly slinging it around my shoulder. I was about to bolt to the door when Ryumi-senpai got on my way, deliberately stopping me from leaving the club room. She was carrying at least three volumes of different manga as she stared at me with bewildered eyes as if to ask me why I was on my way outside.
"Something came up and I need to get to it right now, senpai!" I explained, giving her an apologetic look. "I'll read the manga tomorrow! I'm sorry!" I went through the door and ran outside, unable to hear what she was to say. I just had to do it as soon as possible!
