Night guard
Catra finds herself talking to Swift Wind about her feelings towards Adora during an evening watch

"AH!" Adora shouted in pain. "Adora!" Catra yelled. She swung her sword at the Horde Soldier, killing him instantly. She dropped to the ground, wincing in pain, tears staining her cheeks. Damn it! She was a soldier! She shouldn't be crying over an ankle injury! "Adora, what happened? Are you ok?" She lifted her head and saw Catra crouching, staring at her nervously. She winced and pressed a hand to the throbbing area. "I think I've broken my ankle," She answered, blinking harshly. As if that would ward off the pain. "Oh... let me see," She said, her hands hovering above the damaged appendage. She nodded but winced and gasped as Catra touched it.
"The guy sprung on me from behind... we both tumbled, but I must've landed odd," She explained. Catra wrinkled her nose. "Yeah, you've damaged it. If it's not broken, then it's fractured... you can't ride or fight anymore," She said, lowering her foot back to the ground. "What!? No!" She cried. "Is everything okay?" One of the princesses asked, stepping out of the carriage.
The whole plan was to sneak in the most powerful princesses, Perfuma, Frosta and Mermista, into the fright zone under the impression they were prisoners. Of course, everything went wrong. When didn't it?
"Yeah, she's screwed her ankle. But you're safe, I promise." Catra answered. Mermista grumbled that she could take care of herself as Frosta dissolved her ice fists with a grumble. "Oh no! Oh, I'm deeply sorry, Adora," Finally looking up, ignoring the way the edge of her vision was blurring due to pain, she met the worried gaze of Princess Perfuma. "You can hide in the carriage if you wish," She offered. Adora was about to decline, but Catra spoke. "Don't offer, she'll say no," Adora turned to glare. "Just tell her. Miss Majestic here will try and fight. You'll have to hold her down," Adora narrowed her eyes. "I've hurt my ankle not snapped my spine. I am fine." Catra raised an eyebrow. "Sure princess,"
The next thing Adora knew, she was being picked up from the ground in Catra's arms. She squeaked in surprise and threw her arms around her neck. Then blushed heavily. Catra snorted. "That's a sound I've never heard from you before," She teased. Adora made a face. "Just put my useless body in the carriage before I kill you," She grumbled. "Kill me... probably. Useless body? Wrong," Catra said, stepping in through the door and dropping her to the floor. Adora hissed, rubbing her ass. "It literally kills me to say this," Catra began. "But you're not the worst fighter... so unbreak your ankle quickly," She mumbled. Adora didn't miss the slight blush on her cheeks as she shut the carriage door.

Adora soon got to casually chatting with the three princesses about everything and anything. Mermista was interested in Adora's fighting skills with the Horde, Frosta wanted to know how the sword worked and where She-Ra came from, while Perfuma was interested in one thing: Adora's relationship with Catra. Truth be told, Adora most enjoyed talking to Mermista, as she was the most level-headed. "Perfuma, you can't chicken out now," Mermista scolded. Adora sat rather awkwardly, with her ankle propped up on the wooden seat. "But Mista, why do we have to fight them? Surely we can just talk it through!" Perfuma exclaimed. Mermista rolled her eyes. "Sure, let's ask for a drink and some cake as well!" Perfuma looked away, "You know full well that's not what I mean!"
The two princesses began to argue, as they had done constantly throughout. Adora sighed quietly and tried to listen to the horse's hooves on the ground. "Don't tell me you're sweepy?" A new voice sounded. Adora opened her eyes and peeked through the little slit at the front of the carriage. She smirked, "Better than being outside in the heat," She teased. Catra rolled her eyes. "Yeah yeah, at least I'm not dealing with princesses," Adora made a face and shut the slit when somebody tapped her shoulder. "I'm sorry?" She asked, blushing.
"How on Etheria do you choose between your heart and your duty, Adora?" Perfuma asked. "I dunno what you mean," Adora looked away. "Sure you do," Perfuma teased. Adora blushed a little. Perfuma shrieked quietly. "You love Catra!" She sang. Adora waved her hand, "I do not! I just... think she's a great soldier and a good person," Adora hissed. "Adora loves Catra," Frosta sang. "Frosta!" Mermista droned with a smirk. It was clear she was on their side. Perfuma giggled loudly as Frosta continued to sing. Adora hid her face in her sleeves. "I feel betrayed. Thanks, guys... you've betrayed me," Frosta grinned and continued singing.
"Who loves me?"
Adora just about died. Catra opened the carriage door with a deep frown. Perfuma rolled off the seat cackling, Frosta following suit. The only one who seemed in control was Mermista, and for that, Adora felt grateful. "Nobody, just Frosta teasing someone," Adora grimaced. Like that wasn't obvious. She peaked in between her sleeves and looked at her former enemy/best friend, who was frowning dubiously. "Right," She said slowly. She shook his head, "We've stopped to water the horse, and scouted the area. You're safe to get out and primp up," She cocked a hip. "Does that offer extend to me, Catra?" Adora grinned. Catra put a finger to her lips in thought, then smirked. "No, you're incapacitated."
Adora glared, "I've hurt my foot, not taken it off, I'm fine," She grumbled and crawled out of the carriage. She slipped just on the edge with a small shout. Someone grabbed the back of her shirt, but the damned jacket just came undone. She landed on something firm and warm. She heard Perfuma gasp and apologise for taking her shirt off, but Adora waved it off awkwardly, "It's fine, Perfuma. Thanks for trying though,"
"I still think you need to get it checked," Catra grumbled. Adora hopped to the bench set they'd set. She lowered herself down with a sigh. "Probably... and I will, but we're still at least a day out, if not more," She closed her eyes and let the soft wind blow through her hair.

"I still don't know why you haven't snatched her up yet, kitty. Women like her move on very quickly," Swifty said. Catra crossed her arms with a frown, "I will not date my best friend," She said shortly. "Yeah... but when we've done beat the Horde... then what?" Swifty continued. Catra's frown deepened. She hadn't thought about that bit... "She'll marry someone and have princess babies I guess," Swifty snorted. "Speaking as a friend, and not a horse, Catra, I can tell you love her," Catra sighed. "Even if I did, she doesn't me. She's made it very clear she's not interested in marriage... or me,"
"Who said anything about marriage? You could just be partners until you were both ready," Swifty offered. Catra found her gaze on Adora, who, despite having a broken ankle (most likely) insisted on helping out the watch for the night. She was sitting (unable to do anything else) on the bench set they'd got out earlier. The moon glowed on her face, illuminating her beauty. She sighed quietly. Swifty elbowed her in the gut, "You'll only get the chance once," He warned. Catra sighed loudly. "Maybe after we kill Hordak... when there's finally nothing to worry about,"
As if she'd heard them talking about her, Adora turned around with a blinding smile. "Everything good over there?" She called. Swifty snickered softly. Catra huffed a laugh of her own, "Yep... everything's just dandy,"
