Family 3/6 - Caught red-handed (starving)
Kyle is caught stealing some ration bars. Adora faces Shadow Weaver for his actions.

By the time Adora realised what would happen, it was too late. She'd been given a blessed day off from the gruelling training sessions she'd been forced to do, back-to-back for fifteen days. She was the record holder in numerous areas by a "long mile, and as such, needs to share those skills and methods with the lesser performers,"
So her group had been moved to Octavia's squad for the time being whilst Adora was in her "teacher era" as Catra had dubbed it. She was only alone during her sleep time; even then, she had to bunk with the first-morning group. She'd wake up at 0500, eat breakfast, get dressed and be in the simulation room by 0545.
Her schedule was as follows:
0500: wake up
0510: eat breakfast
0525: get dressed
0530: log into the simulation room
0535: set the bots up
0545: begin training group 1
0615: obstacle course - g1
0645: run down and report write-up
0700 - 0815: group 2 simulation, obstacle course & write up
0815 - 0930: group 3 simulation, obstacle course & write up
0930 - 1045: group 4 simulation, obstacle course & write up
1045 - 1200: group 5 simulation, obstacle course & write up
1200: lunch
1300: simulation room
1330: training room
1400: Study
1600: wash
1700: dinner
1800: meeting
1900: report write up
2030: bed
It didn't leave her a lot of time to... just be... barely even enough time for food, to be honest. During her lunchtime, she consistently had various Force Captains approach her for her schedule or the Sargants for her write-ups and reports... So she was thankful when Shadow Weaver finally ceased her teaching schedule and appointed another person to take over.
But on one evening, late, late enough for most cadets to be asleep, save for a scarce few, Adora knew something was wrong immediately. Catra was purring softly on the bed, Lonnie was tapping away on her tablet, Rogelio was pruning in the mirror and Kyle... was nowhere to be seen. Initially, Adora put it down to another infirmary visit, after all, the poor boy was always there for one reason or another. Be it isolation from a sickness or preparing for something broken or bleeding... but when he failed to turn up by midnight, Adora checked the door logs and security cams for the fifth time. "No," She whispered. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no!" She lept to her feet only seconds before the door swung open.
"Shadow Weaver," Adora saluted. Lonnie scrambled to her feet quickly, Rogelio was by her side saluting, while Catra... took her sweet time in standing up quickly. "You would do well to watch over your troops, Force Captain Adora," She hissed, throwing Kyle in by his arms. Nobody rushed to help him. Shadow Weaver remained by the door ominously. "Adora, come," She crooned. "You must learn to deal the punishment effectively and quickly, otherwise your troops will begin to rebel like Kyle,"
Shadow Weaver's cold hand grasped Adora's shoulder firmly, almost painfully. Catra's hair stood on end as she began to growl lowly. "Now," Shadow Weaver began. "You must choose," She gestured. "Punish Kyle yourself, or take his punishment personally," Adora glanced back, meeting the wet eyes of her youngest cadet. It was only by a few months, but even so.
"What's the punishment? What'd he do?" Catra's voice asked. Shadow Weaver audibly sneered. "Not that it matters to a lowly cadet such as yourself, Catra," Adora was positive the shadows grew thicker. "But he was caught stealing ration bars from the kitchen. And for every bar he stole is one day without food," Adora cleared her throat. "Uh... how... how many did he take?" She asked. Shadow Weaver's masked face turned back to hers. "Initially, eight. But he dropped five,"
Shadow Weaver's grasp tightened on Adora. "Either you or he would have to deal with three days of no food. Choose,"
Adora sighed softly, glancing back once more. Kyle wouldn't survive three days without food... but she would. "I'll do it. And give him a suitable punishment when it is over," Catra began to vocalise her protests, while Lonnie and Rogelio tore into Kyle for stealing. Shadow Weaver's grip tightened impossibly tightly before loosening. "Come. You will report the incident to the sergeant before returning for the night,"
~
The three days were hell. Adora was still forced to train and use the simulation machines every day, including the mile-long run each morning. It was only three days, and she slept for at least thirty of those seventy hours. But Kyle survived another day... and that was all that mattered.
