Chapter 5

Lisia's POV:

The next day, I texted Serena to ask if she was free to go to the beach again. I could tell we both really enjoyed it last time so I'm sure there would be the perfect place to ask her out.

She said she was free so I told her to meet there in five minutes and then I got dressed. At that moment I was just so excited I couldn't sit still and I was bouncing up and down.

It was so hard to waiting but now, I finally get to tell her how I feel! This is the perfect time, I can't mess this up.

Once I finished getting ready I hopped on my Altaria and we flew to the beach.

When I got there I realised that no one was around so I got off of Ali and put him back into my ball and then sat down and waited on the sand. I then looked out into the sea.

Why does Serena look out to this so much? I mean the sea is pretty but is it really more beautiful than me?

Suddenly, I saw someone sitting beside me on the sand and nudge me on the shoulder. I knew who it was by how soft her skin was but I turned to see Serena next to me.

Everything about her is just so majestic and magical. The way her hair blows in the wind, the way her blue eyes glow like the ocean, the way her lips look so soft and kissable. Everything about her is just so perfect, I hope she sees me in the same way.

"Hi!" She said, waving to get my attention.

"Hi Serena! Sorry for staring!" I replied, smiling awkwardly and blushing from embarrassment, which I rarely do around people.

"It's fine," She replied, "So, why did you want to meet up here?"

"Well, there's something I wanted to talk to you about, something very important," I explained.

"Oh okay, what is it?" Serena asked.

All of a sudden I started to feel so nervous. My heart was starting to beat so quickly and I didn't really understand why because I was so excited a few minutes ago, but I guess that is just what love does.

"I... I really like you. Well, I mean, I really love you. You've lit up my life since the first day I met you and I feel so much chemistry between us and I just... really love you..." I announced, "So, will you be my girlfriend?"

"Oh!" Serena let out, looking quite taken aback.

She then pondered the question for a minute. I could see a blush on her cheeks but she also looked quite sad. These mixed emotions were muddling up my brain and I couldn't help but sweat and start to go red in the face.

"Lisia..." Serena finally said, "I do like you, really like you, but the thing is, I love someone else..."

My heart dropped.

"Who?" I mistakenly asked.

"I'm in love with a boy called Ash Ketchum," She answered, "He's-"

As my crush told me about her crush, my heart dropped further, all the way down until it smashed into a million pieces.

I thought she loved me! I have no idea who this "Ash Ketchum" boy is so that must been she's been... seeing other people.

I just can't believe most of all that she loves a boy over me. I guess it was wrong of me to assume she liked girls, but-

"So are you okay with that?" Serena finally asked, snapping me back into reality.

"O-okay with what?" I questioned.

"Weren't you paying attention? Are you okay with seeing me off at the docks when my boat comes so I can go to Kanto and meet up with Ash?"

Now she's leaving me behind?! I can't believe this... I really thought we had something...

"Sure..." I muttered in response.

"And also, are we okay?" She questioned, "Can we still be friends?"

Friends... I wanted us to be more than that...

"Of course!" I exclaimed suddenly with an awkward smile, trying to hold my tears in, "I'll support you no matter what!"

"Are you sure?" Serena asked, her concern and doubt filling her voice as she frowned.

"I'm fine!" I replied, "Anyway, I have to go now!"

"Okay, see you tomorrow!" She waved goodbye.

I waved goodbye too and then ran off, tears falling as I did. I sobbed all the way home and then when I got there, I flopped onto my bed and cried into my pillow.

She likes a boy, I'm not a boy...
