Chapter 3
The Push and The Pull
The morning sun filtered through the blinds of Y/N's hotel room, casting a soft golden hue across the bed where he sat, his mind still buzzing from everything that had happened the night before. His debut on SmackDown, the excitement of winning, the pressure of making an impression, and of course, Scarlett Bordeaux—her words, her gaze, they all lingered in his thoughts.
He had barely slept, too lost in the events of the day, too captivated by the allure of the WWE world. The feeling of the crowd's energy was still fresh, and the rush of adrenaline from his match was still pumping through his veins. But what had truly left an impact wasn't just the victory—it was Scarlett.
Her smirk, the way she looked at him with those piercing eyes, the way she spoke with such authority and playfulness. It wasn't just the physical attraction that was magnetic—it was her confidence, the quiet strength in everything she did. Y/N couldn't help but wonder if maybe there was more to her than just her wrestling prowess. There was something raw, something vulnerable beneath the surface, but he couldn't quite place it yet.
His phone buzzed, pulling him from his thoughts. A text message from an unknown number appeared on the screen. It was a simple message, but it caused a stir in his chest.
Scarlett Bordeaux:
"You ready for today, Y/N? I hope you're not planning on going easy on me during our workout. I'm about to show you just how far I can push you."
Y/N's lips curled into a grin as he sat up straighter, stretching his arms out. He wasn't sure if he was ready for whatever Scarlett had in mind, but one thing was certain—he couldn't turn down a challenge. Not from her.
He quickly typed a reply.
Y/N:
"I wouldn't dream of going easy. Let's see what you've got."
He sent the message and immediately stood up, grabbing his gym bag and heading for the shower. He could already feel the sweat from yesterday's match lingering on his skin, and after a night of rest, he was ready to push himself again. But this time, he had the feeling the intensity of the workout would be a little different. Scarlett's challenge was no joke, and he couldn't wait to see just how far she'd take it.

A Few Hours Later – The Gym
The gym at the arena was relatively quiet, just a few WWE Superstars scattered about, lifting weights, stretching, and getting ready for their matches later in the night. But as Y/N walked through the door, he immediately noticed Scarlett.
She was a vision. Her long blonde hair was tied back in a sleek ponytail, and her athletic attire clung to her figure in all the right places—tight black leggings and a simple sports bra, highlighting her toned physique. She stood by the weights, chatting casually with a few of the other Superstars, but when she saw Y/N enter, her attention shifted, and the room seemed to quiet down around them.
Her eyes locked onto him, and that same sultry smirk crossed her lips. Scarlett was like a force of nature, confident and magnetic, and Y/N found himself drawn to her immediately.
"You made it," she said, her voice laced with teasing amusement. She walked toward him, every step purposeful and calculated, exuding the same allure that had captivated him the night before. "I'm impressed. Ready to take it to the next level?"
Y/N couldn't help but chuckle as he dropped his bag onto the bench. "You've got me curious. I'm not sure if I'm ready, but I'm about to find out."
Scarlett's eyes twinkled with mischief as she reached for a pair of dumbbells, giving him a once-over before she replied. "Good. Because I'm not going easy on you, Y/N. I'll push you harder than you've ever been pushed before."
Her words sent a chill down his spine, but not one of fear. It was anticipation, excitement. The challenge in her voice was undeniable. Scarlett wasn't here to play games. She was here to train, and if Y/N was going to keep up, he would need to bring everything he had.
Without another word, Scarlett set to work, guiding him through a series of exercises, each one designed to challenge him in a different way. She pushed him harder than he thought was possible, demanding more than he had expected from someone who was so familiar with the ring. But with every set, every rep, Y/N could see it—this wasn't just about building muscle. It was about resilience. It was about trust. Scarlett was teaching him something deeper than technique; she was teaching him to push past his limits.
"Come on, Y/N, you've got more in you," Scarlett urged as he struggled to complete another set of squats. Her hands rested on his shoulders, her touch firm, guiding him through the movement. "I can see it in you. Don't stop now."
He gritted his teeth, pushing through the burn in his legs. "I'm not stopping," he managed to say, his voice strained but determined. He met her gaze, finding her eyes filled with an intensity that matched his own. There was something about her that made him want to prove himself, something that made him want to show her he could do more than just meet her expectations—he wanted to exceed them.
Scarlett nodded approvingly, stepping back to allow him space. "Good. That's the mentality I'm talking about. You've got what it takes, Y/N. I can feel it."
After a few more rounds of exercises, Scarlett called for a break. They both grabbed water bottles and leaned against the wall, catching their breath. Y/N was sweating, his muscles burning from the intense workout, but there was a sense of satisfaction that came with it—he had pushed himself harder than ever before, and Scarlett had been right there beside him, every step of the way.
Scarlett wiped the sweat from her brow, her blonde hair sticking to her face, but it only made her more captivating. She was beautiful, yes, but it was her strength, her will, that drew him in. She wasn't just a pretty face—she was a fighter, just like him.
"So, what's your story, Y/N?" Scarlett asked, her voice quieter now, more reflective. "I know you've got a background in wrestling, but what else? What drives you?"
Y/N paused, unsure of how to answer. He hadn't shared much about his past with anyone, not even the people closest to him. But something about Scarlett's presence, the way she listened, made him want to open up.
"I grew up in a small town, just me and my mom," he began, his voice steady but with an edge of nostalgia. "She was my biggest supporter. Always told me that if I wanted something, I had to work for it. I guess that's where my drive comes from—wanting to prove myself, wanting to make her proud. Wrestling was always the goal. It's what kept me going when things got tough."
Scarlett nodded slowly, her expression softening. "I get that. I didn't grow up with the best circumstances either. But I always knew what I wanted. I had to fight for it, just like you."
Y/N could hear the honesty in her voice, and for the first time since meeting her, he felt like they were on the same page. They were both fighters, both willing to do whatever it took to make it to the top. And right now, in this moment, it felt like they were building something bigger than just a working relationship—it felt like they were building a connection.
Scarlett stood up and stretched, her body moving with fluid grace. "Alright, let's wrap this up," she said, her usual confidence returning. "You've done well today, Y/N. But next time, you'll need to push even harder. Don't get comfortable."
Y/N smiled, feeling the heat of the workout and the weight of her words sink in. He was ready. Ready for whatever came next, whether it was the challenge she had laid out for him or the spark between them that was undeniably growing stronger.
As they packed up their things and headed for the exit, Scarlett turned to him once more, her voice low and teasing. "You're not the only one who's got something to prove, Y/N. I've got my eyes on you. And I think you know exactly what that means."
Y/N smirked, feeling the heat of her gaze. "I do. And I'm not backing down. Let's see where this goes."
The doors to the gym swung open as they stepped out into the hallway, but neither of them looked back. The day was still young, but the journey ahead was clear. Whatever happened next, they were in this together—pushing each other, testing each other, and building something that neither of them could ignore.
