Hinata POV

I stared at my hands as they moved on their own knitting the first tiny boot for my baby, my hands kept on moving it has been 5 days since Sasuke left.

Today is my due date but nothing has happened, I'm starting to get worried that something might be wrong, but Sakura assured me that sometimes it could take just a couple more days for the contractions to start.

"-orry!"

"Hmm"
I looked up and stared at Naruto who I think has been talking for most of the time? I'm not sure but he has been here from early morning along with Shikamaru and Shino whom are playing Shougi.

I stared as Naruto crouched down and got eye level with me. He put his hand on top of mine and repeated again.

"Hina I said again I'm sorry! I really did try to postpone this mission but it's just to important! And unfortunately this can only be done by that Teme!"

He sighed and squeezed my hand standing and giving me one of his big bright smiles. I smiled back and nodded. I think I have been acting to cold towards everyone and is completely unfair of me.

"I'm sorry guys! I've just been out of it! But I assure you guys I understand that nothing important can just be put on pause because I want it to be that way.! I'm being completely selfish!!"

I felt tears blind me! It's true I really have been. Before I could sob I heard his voice cool calm voice.

"It's not selfish at all! No Woman wants to bring a child to this world without the father!"

I smiled at Shikamaru who had stood up and held his hand out. I smiled at him and put my things on my basket and put it next to me on the floor. I took Shikamarus hand and he helped me up with the help of Naruto who helped me by grabbing my elbow.

"Thank you for being here!"

"It's the least we could do Hina! Sakura is at the hospital and is very busy, while the rest of the girls are on different missions. Well besides Temari who went to her brothers village to help them out! But everyone else is on missions! Also Ten-ten kind of ordered us to not leave your side!" Naruto smiled and shrugged his shoulders
"We would have done it either way, but with her swinging Shuriken in the air while she talked to the three of us was scary!"

"I know I felt her killer intent while she calmly talked and swung those Shuriken!" Shino piped in also.

I laughed at them as they both winced remembering the incident. I smiled at Shino he is no longer wearing his big hoody he still covers his eyes with his dark glasses, but you could see most of his face now.

Shikamaru put my hand on the crook of his arm as we started walking towards the front door. I sighed as I slipped on my slippers for easier access. I moved a little stray of hair that left my long braid and tucked it behind my ear.

I smiled at Shikamaru as he led me outside for our routine morning walk. Shikamaru has been staying here to help me out! Shino just got back from a mission along with Choji but Choji is busy on other matters! It seems he is in a relationship with someone, we are yet to meet her, but he is a lot more happier now a days.

"Ne Hina are you not scared? What if the baby decides to come out any second! Oh Kami should you even be walking? Shouldn't you be resting? What happens if-."

Shikamaru and I looked at Naruto as he panicked and stared at my stomach! I looked at Shikamaru and he only shook his head while I bursted out laughing.

"Hey future Hokage! Your wife is a doctor! Shouldn't you know about these things! What a drag." I laughed as Naruto rubbed the back of his neck and laughed.

"Well you see! Er I think she has told me, but I was probably dozing off and didn't hear her!"

I laughed and Shikamaru shook his head. Still same Naruto I'm glad he's still the same. It always brightens everyone's day when this happens, sometimes I think he does it on purpose just to make us smile or laugh.

I stopped all of a sudden when I felt a wave of pain starting from my sides towards my stomach, like if a cramp had started but left? Are these contractions?

"Is something wrong Hina?"

I looked up at Naruto who had both his arms clasped behind his head and was staring at me with his head tilted sideways!

"Oh! I think I just felt my first contraction!?"

Naruto stayed still until his eyes widened slowly each second as he digested what I had just said.

"Kami should we go to the hospital? Should I go get Sakura? I think she told me to get her?!! Or did she tell me to take you?"

I quickly grabbed onto his orange shirt when he was about to sprint away. I laughed and smiled towards him.

"Naruto take deep even breaths! Calm down! Come on deep breath! Ok let it out slowly-."

"Something tells me this should be done the other way around!" Shikamarus voice calm but filled with laughter was heard behind me along with a grunt.

Naruto and I kept on taking deep breaths and letting them out. I patted his hand and reached for Shinos arm next to me. I smiled at them all and kept on walking.

"Shouldn't we-."

"No it's not serious unless the contractions are closer together! They are just starting!"

I hummed and kept walking while Naruto kept talking about how babies will bring so much happiness to them all, and singing about how he will be an Uncle soon. I smiled and brushed strands that were leaving my braid away from my face.

As we walked around the Uchiha district I felt sad again. I wish Sasuke were here!

"IM HERE! IM HERE!"

We all looked towards the voice and saw Hanabi sprinting towards us! She was still in her ninja outfit all muddy and dirty!? Did she just get back from a mission! I thought she wouldn't be back until Next week!

She finally reached us and sat down stretching her legs out. She was breathing hard and uneven. She waved us off before we could say anything.

"I- oof I went to the hospital first! But you weren't there so I came here as fast as I could! Sorry I'm late!"

Before I could say anything we heard a bark and trees rustling behind us! We turned and I saw Shikamaru smile and sit against a fallen tree.

I stared as one by one they all appeared. Lee and Kiba were the first to arrive along with Akamaru.

"You cheated!!!"

"I did no such thing! I am just full of youth and would not lose! I won fair and squa-!"

"You pushed me when you passed me!!! That's cheating Eyebrows!"

They argued as Akamaru ran towards me and skidded to a stop pushing my stomach with his nose slowly and softly while he whined. I smiled as I petted his head.

I turned towards Ino and Ten-ten along with Sai who jumped from the tree and landed on the ground next to me. They were all still in their ninja gear and all dirty.!

"Sorry were late Hina how are you feeling?"

"Yeah we almost didn't make it!"

I stared at them all and my heart thudded hard against my chest in pain but I was so happy to have friends like them.

My throat clogged up and I felt small but warm hands wrap around me. I hugged Hanabi back.

"I'm sorry give me a second!"

"Hina please don't cry!"

I smiled at them all as tears still fell, I quickly shook my head at them all.

"I'm just so happy- that you all would do this for me!! So so happy!"

They all smiled at me and Ino and Ten-ten quickly hugged me! Everyone chatted away as we all talked and walked around a bit more.

A strong wind flew by and I closed my eyes and saw Sasukes warm smile in my mind, his kind eyes! I smiled I know that if he could, he would be here. He is a strong man! He is probably sad that he could not be here for us.

(I will be strong for you Anata!) I smiled and looked around at all my friends as we all chatted.
