What The Flux? This Isn't Sabaody
The sun shone bright today, which wasn't that uncommon. It's just nice to not have to worry about a surprise storm, or crazy snowball sized hail.
Nami, Tani, Robin and Sanji all sat around on the back deck. A rainbow of nail polish bottles, were splayed out for the party to chose from. It was all Nami's idea, she missed out on getting a manicure on the last island, and she really wanted to fix the chipping on her nails. So she decided to turn it into a girls day out kind of activity. Sanji was asked to join in, which he agreed to, because he was curious about the world of nail art. There's also no harm in giving his hands some pampering.
Nami was clicking her newly painted orange and navy blue nails, against the wood of the deck. The satisfying tap noise bringing music to her ears.
"Hah~" Nami sighed, "This is way more fun with people I actually like." she said happily. Tani looked up from her own still drying fingers, she decided to go with the whole rainbow. Marvelling at how bright the colours looked.
"I think I'm doing mine wrong?" Sanji said, looking at his own nails with a critical eye. Robin looked over them, Sanji had decided on the colours Yellow, ocean blue and black. The black was kinda transparent.
Robin had entirely black nails, so she pointed out a few tips on how to layer the black until the whole nail is covered. Sanji looked at his painted nails with a sunny smile, flexing his fingers around.
"You reckon, we could convince Usopp to make proper nail art? With the cute little pictures," Tani asked the small group. Nami lifted her hand and rested her head into the palm.
"Usopp would do it, just for the opportunity to show off his painting skills." Nami grinned. Sanji gave a laugh.
"He's already sneakily hung some of his pictures on the fridge, next to some of Luffy's drawings." Sanji shared, the girls all cooed at the adorable display.
"Are you guys done yet? I wanna play tag," Luffy's whined from the stairs, he was crawling his way up them.
"Go ask Usopp and Chopper, we're having a girls day." Nami snapped. Shooing the captain away. Luffy stomped his foot down.
"Chopper is busy taking care of Zoro, and tag is boring with just one other person." the captain complained. Oh right... Zoro.
He woke up briefly during the party, he was found by Brook in a small grave yard. He'd made a grave for the sword that he lost during Enies lobby. Soon after that, he fell back to sleep. He's been out ever since.
"Go find something else to do, today is a day for pampering." Nami said, once again shooing him away. Luffy gave a pout, Tani felt bad...
"I'll hang out with you, after this." she promised. Luffy wasn't quite satisfied with that answer.
"You owe me a hundred kisses," he declared. The group snickered at his childish demand. Tani felt her cheeks heat up. Still not quite believing that she was actually a thing? With Luffy.
"S-sure," she stuttered. Nami clutched her stomach, while her other hand covered her mouth. Holding back her laughter. Tani sent her a glare, without any real malice.
"Awesome... Hurry up, I want kisses," Luffy demanded the group, before bouncing off to do god knows what.
The group burst into laughter at Tani's expense, though she found herself being swept into the giggles.
"Someone's impatient," Sanji snickered, "Not even our dearest Tani, is exempt from that." he grinned.
"I believe Tani will experience far more impatience from our captain." Robin chimed in. Tani sighed.
"It's been less than 24 hours, if he keeps acting like this. I'll never survive." she joked. Honestly, she didn't mind his demanding nature. All that really changed was, now he demands physical affection, instead of just playing games or going fishing.
"If he gets to be too much, you can hide out in my map room. Luffy's forbidden from entering in there." Nami said with a wink. Tani grinned, she'd keep that in mind.
"Everyone," came Brook's voice over the intercom. He'd opted to take over Zoro's job, while the man was still unconscious. "There's a marine ship approaching." he said with his calm voice. The group sighed. Guess their girls day was over.
The crew gathered around the centre deck. The marine ship approaching from the side of them, a tall woman with long pink hair and a red suit was standing at the front of the boat. Her marine jacket resting on her shoulders, how it staying on there? Tani had a theory that every marine and hidden velcro on their shoulders. The woman pulled out a megaphone den den mushi.
"Hina has found you again, Straw hat Luffy," she called from the approaching boat.
"Is she... Speaking in the third person?" Tani asked. Luffy looked confused.
"I only see one person? Do you have super eye sight too?" he asked with dead seriousness. Tani wanted to slap herself in the head, but it's best to keep away from self injuring.
"The third person is a book term, Luffy." Robin explained calmly. "I'll explain it later, I do believe that Miss Hina is approaching." The raven haired woman said.
The marine ship was close enough for Hina to jump onto the Sunny, her marine troops all preparing to board the ship. The marine captain was chewing on a burning cigarette, fixing up her dark gloves.
"Hina sees that Straw hat Luffy, has a bigger crew." she observed. Luffy was already rolling his sleeve, ready to start the fight. Finally, something to fix his boredom.
"Hina will take you in!" she called out. Spitting out her cigarette and hooking her arm, she ran towards Luffy. Her arm taking on a blackish-grey coat. Almost like she was made of steel.
The captain jumped out of the way, Hina slammed her arm through the mast. Leaving behind a loop of black metal, that wrapped around the mast.
"Devil fruit!" Tani pointed out, like it wasn't obvious. Robin was on the case, already blooming arms to apprehend the marine captain. Her arms wrapping around Hina in a clutch ready hold.
"Hands off the captain!" came a man's voice, the guy came jumping from the marine ship. His hair a bright pink, fists covered in metal.
"Hey... Isn't that the asshole from the Baratie? The one that Sanji kicked the ass of in front of like... At least a dozen people?" Tani pointed out with a snicker. The guy turned to look at her with a twitch in his brow. Sanji got a good look.
"It is! I'd never forget such an asshole customer." he agreed. Tani gave a bark of laughter.
The guy wasn't having it. He instantly took out his frustrations on Tani, or he would have. If Sanji hadn't kicked him away, taking the aggro away from the girl.
Chopper had made it clear that Tani isn't allowed to use her yo-yo's until the braces on her wrists are off. Meaning she had to rely solely on her skating abilities (which were amazing) and her new founded long pole skills. Nami had given her, her old wooden staff, it was a bit longer than Tani would have liked, but it's better than nothing.
Tani rolled around the courtyard like she was a hockey player in Canada. Smacking pucks (marine cadet's feet) over. She was having a grand ol' time.
That is until Hina decided to make Tani, her new target. Some hypnotist had shown up on the ship, occupying Luffy and Usopp with his power to make people fall asleep? She thinks. His name was Mango, or something like that. Honestly she didn't care, too busy running for her life.
"Hina knows Tanisha! Tanisha made Chase have a hard time in Alabasta." she called out, already hooking her arm. Ready to catch Tani.
"Chase? Who's that?" Tani asked. Hoping over Luffy's sleeping body.
"How dare Tanisha forgot! Captain Chase Smoker!" Hina's arm sliced through one of her own men.
"Oh! Smokey," Tani realized. "How's he been? Is he still a grumpy grouch?" Tani asked, bouncing herself off the mast to kick a marine goon in the face.
"Chase has been very good, Chase and Tashigi have been promoted to the G-5 division." Hina said with some form of pride. Taking another swing at Tani.
"That's great-" Tani was cut off, when her feet were locked up. Hina managed to aim low enough to hit them both in one clean swipe.
"Hah! Hina has Tanisha caught." the woman remarked. Tani gave a concerned look around.
She was right beside Luffy and Usopp, both of them snoring up a storm. The Mango guy was also asleep, but pink bastard was carrying him away from the battle field. Nami, Franky and Sanji weren't close enough... Where's Brook-
"My apologies Miss Hina," came a chilling voice, that gentlemanly air still hanging off every word.
Tani had never actually seen Brook fight, except when he was an electric beyblade projectile. So this would be interesting. She knew he was a swordsman, however he had a different style from the fully offense based style that Zoro had.
Brook was light on his feet, already kneeling down before Tani. Sliding his long blade... Back into the sheath?
*Click*
Hina let out a gasp of pain, blood spraying from her back. She dropped to the ground in shock. How could she have been hit? The skeleton hadn't even moved!
Brook grabbed Tani around the waist, hoisting her under his arm. She gave a big grin to the wounded woman. Knowing that Hina would be just fine, she has the healing factor of literally every person in this world.
Robin waltzed her way over to Luffy and Usopp, already starting up an assembly line of hands to smack them back into the conscious world. Brook turned his back on Hina, ready to make some kind of joke.
"Hi-ina... Will not be so easily defeated!" came the woman's battle cry, she lifted up a fist. Aimming for Brook and Tani, the fist was full force. This woman had trained in the art of hand to hand combat for 20 years. Tani could feel it in her.
Tani turned her head just enough to see the woman approaching... And something clicked... Something she's never felt before. A flow of power that her body knew, yet her head was unaware of.
If that hit was to collide... Tani would die.
Brook wouldn't be able to react in time, Robin was preoccupied, the rest of the crew was too far away, Luffy and Usopp were asleep...
Tani would have died.
Except the world went black.
...
The dark skinned girl woke up with a start, her body flinging forward. Sweat coated her skin, and her head pounded like she'd been hit by a school bus.
Tani opened her eyes, blinking away the blurry film that coated her eyeballs... Wait a second? What!
She was sitting in a room by herself, the walls coated in movie posters. A familiar chest of drawers covered in knickknacks and photos of a small girl with bright clothes, and an older woman with tired eyes. The pair having their best smiles.
This was her room... This was her bedroom... But? But this is her bedroom! In her world?! What!
The sound of music was playing dully in the other room, along with the sweet, melodious voice of a tag along singer.
Tani could never forget that voice. She wouldn't want to.
"Mum?" she whispered to herself. Already flinging her legs over the side of her bed. She was fitted in her favourite pyjamas, this all felt unreal.
She sped towards the door, a feeling of anticipation in her step. The singing voice growing louder and louder.
The door opened with a familiar creak, they never did fix the hinges on that door. The nostalgia flooded over her, this place smelled like home.
Tani stepped out of her room into the small hallway, the sun shining bright from the other end. She picked up the pace, practically stopping herself from breaking into a sprint.
The end of the hallway was reached, opening to a living-room/kitchen fusion. Everything was perfectly in place, the cushions on the couch, the unread books on the coffee table, the dirty dishes from dinner the night before...
Her mother, standing in the kitchen. Packing up a small lunchbox with snacks for Tani to take to school. Hips swinging to the music, voice syncing up with the words of the song.
Tani felt her heart singing with it, tears welling up in her eyes as she stared at her mother. She was right there, right in her sights. Standing in her old home-
Old home? Wait a second... Luffy! And the others!
A wave of dread washed over that sparkle of joy. Her blood running cold, as thoughts she didn't want to have, clouded her brain.
"Good morn-" mum said with a cheery voice, only to pause at the sight of absolute distress on her daughters face. "Tani? Honey are you alright?" she asked with concern. Already walking over to the girl. Tani hadn't even registered that her mum had spoken.
Was that all really a dream? No it can't have been! She felt pain, lots of it. You can't feel pain in dreams. You can't!
She even had the injuries to prove-
Her wrists were bare of the braces, her raw skin now a healthy bronze brown. Though there were still stretch marks!
"Tani? You're scaring me. What's wrong?" her mother's voice was much closer now. Tani jumped back a bit when she found her standing so close. Hands on her shoulders.
"Huh?" Tani choked. Her mum pulled her closer, embracing her in a warmth that Tani couldn't describe.
Her mum... It was really her. She was really here, hugging her tight. Tani couldn't help but weep. Letting out her overwhelming joy and painful sorrow.
Was this what mourning felt like? This hollow feeling in your chest, that can't be filled with anything else.
"Was it a nightmare? Do we need to cut back on the horror films before bed time," her mum attempted to jest. Tani just continued to cry. Sputtering out the names of her friends, under her breath.
"Who's Luffy? Were they someone in your dream?" her mother tried to console. Tani gave a nod, her face running with snot and tears. This was the most... Emotional she had ever felt about something. "How about you come sit down, tell me all about your dream." mum ushered, Tani found herself sitting at the old dinner table, on the corner with the chipping.
"Now... Tell me everything," mum said with a smile.
Tani did.
She relayed the whole story (she refused to accept that it was a dream, there's simply no way). Telling her mother about her pirate life, every island, all her nakama, the many foes they faced. Everything. Her mother listened, nodded and asked question.
"Hina tried to hit me, and the world went black... I woke up here, to the sound of your voice." Tani smiled, wiping away the stray tears the rolled down her cheek.
Her mum remained silent, taking a look at Tani. Tani had missed that face, those tired eyes full of love. The reserved smile, that would bloom into a face splitting grin, when she found something funny. Puffy Afro that hung low, held back with a toothed headband.
"It feels like I haven't seen you for months... I really missed you." Tani said in a quiet voice. Her mum gave her that comforting smile.
"Well, I'm here now. You can't get rid of your mumma that easy." she joked. Tani let out a small snicker. She missed her mum's voice. "Now honey," her mother reached over to grab Tani's hand. Her big eyes staring into Tani's own. "Do you want to take the day off? I can call you in sick, and I'm sure work wouldn't mind if I took the day off." her mum offered.
Tani thought about it, taking the day off would give her time to think over the situation logically. Weight out how possible it was, for it to all have been a dream... But-
"No, it's alright. I think school would be suspicious of me, if I skipped." she sighed. Her mother nodded.
"Don't you have a French test today? Wait you take Spanish... What's French today?" mum wondered. Tani thought back, it's really been 6 months in her head... French... French...
"Revolution, it's French revolution." she answered. Her mum clapped her hands.
"Right! You take history class." her mum cheered, excited to remember something. Tani gave a chuckle... Hold the phone...
She already did that test, she remembers taking the test and skipping the next class to go home. That's when she found the bell at the skatepark and bam! She became a pirate.
"Shall we get you ready for school? I'll pack you some extra fruit sticks, as a treat." her mum asked. Tani gave a nod, jumping up from the table to head into her room. She needed to clear her head.
There's no way that was all fake... Right?
...
Tani decided to skate to school, the spring time weather felt nice on her skin. Walkman blasting familiar songs into her ears, it was peaceful... At least that's what it should have been.
Something felt off, like there was something that shouldn't be here. An unknown, roaming the streets. Tani couldn't brush those unnerving feelings away... Because that unknown, felt familiar yet wasn't? Does that even make sense? Tani didn't know. Maybe she was just muddled.
The school approached, kids her age all wandering into the school grounds with their backpacks and friends. That gloomy sadness washed over Tani again. She didn't want to go back to those lonely days on the bench, watching her peers playing basketball or netball, not wanting her to join in.
Tani slowly swallowed the ball in her throat, let's just get this over with.
As she approached the prison-like building, she felt something pass her peripheral. A golden yellow, with worn red. She snapped her head around so fast, her heart beat racing...
It was just a girl with blonde hair, and a red headband. Tani felt her heart shatter, hopes crushed by a girl who didn't even know the damage she'd caused. Tani turned away, racing into the school building.
Missing the straw hat boy, who ran in the opposite direction. Searching for any of his nakama.
...
Tanisha Lowe found herself in a situation that was so familiar, it was uncanny. Unfocused on the drawling voice of her teacher, a discomfort in her stomach.
What's causing this current discomfort you may ask? Well...
"This assessment will be one hour long, with fifteen minutes set aside for planning. No talking, no eating and no cheating," the history teacher droned. Tani sat with her pen tapping hard against the side of the small desk. She hadn't needed this information in what felt like 6 months, and now she has to recall events from the French revolution to write an essay about it. Honestly she only remembered guillotines, the fall of Bastille, the word bourgeoisie because it was funny, and that the leader was called Lafayette. Other than that...
Wow, what a sense of Deja Vu, it's almost like she's lived this day before...
Tani spent less than twenty minutes writing the essay, she gave up and stared out the window to think. Mind filling with pirate adventures, sailing the seas with her nakama, saving islands and having big parties. Playing tag with Luffy and Usopp, sharing late night conversations with Nami and Robin, training with Zoro, washing dishes with Sanji, talking about technology from her world with Franky, cuddling with Chopper... She never got a chance to familiarise herself with-
"Miss Lowe,"
Who was that? Outside the window? Tall, bone white, an ink black Afro bouncing under a rotted top hat.
"Miss Lowe,"
BROOK?!
"Miss Lowe!"
A student let out a blood curdling scream, the girl having fallen out of her chair, in an attempt to get away from the window. Many other shrieks followed, as a crowd of students flooded towards the window to take a look at the walking, talking skeleton. Tani decided this was her time to dip.
She pulled herself out of her desk chair, turning to leave the classroom. Only for the history teacher to grab her arm.
"Where do you think you're going?" she asked with a hint of fear, clearly startled by the skeleton outside. Tani tugged her arm away, the teacher clutched harder. "Sit in your seat, Miss Lowe." the teacher snarled.
Isn't it illegal for a teacher to touch a student? Oh well. Tani didn't care, because her next move was probably just as wrong.
She opened her mouth, slammed it down on the teachers hand, and chomped. Hard.
The woman let out a shriek, ripping her hand away, giving Tani the time to make a run for it. The girl bolted out the door, her bag already on her back. She didn't trust leaving it in her locker, not when it saved her ass so many times in the pirate world.
Tani charged down the halls, dodging, weaving and out running anyone that chased after her. Which was a surprisingly large number of teachers. She was close to the double doors, the ones that open to the front gate.
She could see Brook standing there, confused out of his mind. Tani sprinted, her legs screaming at her to slow down, but her mind screaming back to shut up.
The doors burst open, with Tani flying through them. Her hair fanning out behind her like a cape, her breathing heavy with overuse. She didn't care though.
Because Brook was standing there, turning to see all the commotion.
"Brook!" Tani cheered so loud it hurt.
"Miss Tani!?" the skeleton called back, relief in his tone. "Where are we? What's going on?" he asked. Tani just grabbed his boney hand and dragged him towards the school gates
"Tell you later, right now we gotta run!" she huffed. Brook weighted nothing, so he was easy to drag. The sound of teachers screaming for Tani to "Get back here!" faded away.
Tani slowed the pace, her and Brook were standing in a secluded spot in the towns main park. She would often find herself sitting here after school or work. Watching the world go by. She dropped to her knees, catching her breath.
"My, oh my. It feels like my lungs are going to burst... Except I don't have any lungs. Yohohoho~" Brook joked happily. Tani gave a lazy jazz hands.
"Skull jokes," she wheezed. Coughing up a lung, Brook bent down to pat her back lightly. Tani managed to catch her breath, turning to the expressionless skeleton. "I'm so glad you're here, I thought it was all a dream." she said with relief.
"What was a dream?" he asked, she pointed at him.
"You, Luffy, the crew, everything." she stated. Brook shook his head in disbelief.
"I beg your pardon, but I don't understand? Why would we not exist?" he asked, completely stumped. Tani gave a sombre chuckle.
"This... Is my world." she started. "If you remember, Luffy introduced me as "Tani, she's from another dimension," when we first met." Tani explained. Her hand making a motion to the world around her. "Welcome to the small town of Ranae. Where I grew up," she gave a mock bow.
"So this is your home island... So why are we here?" Brook questioned. Tani gave a shrug.
"No idea, I didn't even know I could come back." she answered. "Anyway, we should head back to my house. You need somewhere to hide," Tani said. Grabbing Brook by the hand, "Don't worry, I know a short cut." she grinned.
...
Well that was unexpected.
Tani didn't think she would come home to her mother, and Nico Robin. Sharing cups of tea, while sitting in the living room, chatting up a storm.
"Oh, you're home ear-" Tani's mum looked up at the large skeleton man, ready to ask questions. When Robin spoke up.
"Oh Brook, it's lovely to see you here." the raven stated, Brook felt very welcome.
"How did you find my house?" Tani asked Robin, honestly terrified of the woman's ability to find literally anything. Robin took a sip of her tea.
"I believe it was called a pho-on book, I simply looked for your name." she answered simply.
"Phone book? Wait those have our names in them!?" Tani asked her mum. The older woman put her hand to her head.
"What did you think a phone book was for? honey." she said with humour.
"I dunno? Phone numbers?" Tani answered. Shaking her head, they were off topic now, "Hold that thought. Robin!" Tani pointed to the older woman. "Are any of the others here?" Tani asked.
"I'm not sure, I've attempted to contact the Sunny. All contact has been lost." she replied. Tani nodded.
Ok, so she knows that Brook and Robin were here... Who else could be here? The whole crew? No... They would have caused some form of disturbance in the-
"Mum! Turn the TV on." Tani commanded. Her mother did as asked, flicking the screen on. Brook let out an awed gasp. "Change it to the news channel. I have a feeling that someone is gonna be on there." Tani said. A couple clicks later, and to her surprise. There wasn't any sign of a straw hat. Just a report on the weather.
"Let's keep that going, just in case someone like Luffy or Zoro are also here." Tani said with a click. "Now... Why the hell are we here right now?" Tani shouted, honestly confused by the whole predicament.
"I have a theory." Robin started. Tani's mum got up off the couch, heading towards the kitchen to fix up some more cups of tea. They were gonna be here for a while.
"This is your home dimension correct?" Robin started. Tani nodded. "Then I suspect that you, are the cause of this situation." Robin suggested.
"I was already kinda suspecting that. My question is, what triggered it? I've been in many near death situations. Yet this is the first time I've? Blooped back home." Tani added. Robin gave a hum.
"I'm curious... Was this a situation that you couldn't actually escape from? In terms of meeting your demise." Robin continued. "Perhaps, this is your body's natural defence mechanism. Marine captain Hina is probably unaware of your fragile structure. A full force hit would have pulverised you." Robin painted, macabre as always. Tani couldn't help but shiver.
Robin did have a point though.
"I remember thinking, that I was definitely going to die. The world went black and-"
"We are coming to you live from the town Ranae, where a boy has been sighted scaling the tallest building in town." a reporter announced from the screen. All eyes snapped to the TV, Tani's mum returned with the cups of tea.
The news feed cut to a boy with a red vest, blue shorts, golden yellow straw hat...
"Of course, Luffy is scaling a building." Tani said with a smack to her forehead. Robin let out a chuckle.
"That's the captain for you," she remarked.
"Is that your boyfriend? You're right, he is cute." Tani's mum added. Handing out the tea cups. Tani gawked, while Brook and Robin sent Tani teasing looks.
"Shut up! Are we gonna go collect him? He's more than capable of levelling the whole city." Tani said, motioning towards the screen. Luffy was hanging from the top of the building, calling loudly for everyone.
"I'll go get the car started," Tani's mum stated, running off to do just that.
"Car?" Brook questioned.
...
The radio blared out modern hits, Tani and her mum belting out the lyrics of every song. Robin sat in the back seat, bobbing her head along with the beat. Brook though...
He was in love with the little radio box, asking questions about every song that popped on. Tani's mum answered them as best she could. Brook was already composing new songs in his brain... Except he doesn't have a brain! Yohohoho~
"Oh, there's a crowd." Tani's mum said, slamming her heel on the break. Tani took this as her cue to jump out of the car. Much to the protest of her mum, everyone else left the car. Tani's mum grumbled about needing to find parking.
The crew pushed their way through the crowd, loud grunts or calls of profanity were tossed their way.
"Luffy!" Tani decided to call out, the straw hat boy snapped his head to search for the voice. He knew who that was.
"Tani!" he yelled back, still looking for her. She pushed through the crowd harder, getting elbowed in the ribs, pushed around, some guy bonked her on the head.
This was probably the most exciting thing to happen in this town, of course everyone was going buck wild.
"Luffy!" came another voice, this one didn't belong to Brook or Robin.
"Usopp?!" Tani called out.
"Tani?!" Usopp called back.
"Oi! Where are you guys?" Luffy shouted. Looking at the crowd, only now noticing Brook. "Found Brook!" Luffy cheered.
Then the bastard launched himself off the building. Loud shrieks came from the crowd below, some scattering away, in fear of getting themselves covered in blood and guts. This gave Tani and Co. The room to rush over.
Sure enough, Usopp was also present. Now that makes four others.
Luffy landed with a thunk, feet breaking through the concrete path like it was a biscuit.
Tani couldn't describe the happiness she felt, only now was it truly registering that. Well, that she wasn't dreaming the pirate stuff up! That this was all real, she had made friends, she and survived all those islands.
She was part of the Straw hat pirates.
Luffy ran to the small group, his arms stretching out. He tossed them around his nakama, pulling them in close for a hug. He was glad to have found them... Or they found him? Who cares! He has his nakama.
"What the hell is that?!" came screams from the crowd. Sounds of terror filled the area, all pointing at the small group.
Right! Stretching limbs and skeletons weren't normal. Tani was so desensitised at this point that she hadn't even noticed.
A loud car horn was heard, before a familiar vehicle pulled up in front of the group. The drivers window rolled down.
"Get in!" Tani's mum commanded. Robin summoned some hands to open the doors. The group was shoved into the car, a tight fit with the large group. One everyone made it in, Tani's mum hit the gas and powered her way through the streets. Tani was thankful that her mum was a really, really good driver.
"Who the hell is that?!" Usopp asked, pointing at the driver. Tani gave a large grin.
"Usopp, Luffy. Meet my mother," she motioned. Usopp's eyes widened.
"Your mum!?" he shouted, "Wait! That means-"
"Welcome to my dimension," Tani welcomed. Usopp wanted to faint.
"Hold on... If that's Tani's mum, and we aren't on the Sunny... Does that mean we're in Tani's world?" Luffy asked.
"Wow, you're right honey." Tani's mum barked with laughter. "He is a bit of an idiot." she laughed. Tani joined her.
"Yeah, but he's charming." Tani smiled. "Also, yes Luffy. This is my world. Welcome to the town of Ranae." she re-welcomed. Luffy gave a nod.
"Awesome!" he cheered.
Yeah... It was pretty awesome.
"But, I wanna go back. I can't be the pirate king if I'm not being a pirate." Luffy said.
"I'm still working on that." Tani said with a sigh.
"Don't worry," Usopp said. "You have us, we can help with whatever the hell is going on." he assured. Tani gave a nod.
They'd find a way back, she would make sure of that.
(A/N: so um... How did you all like the start of my attempt at an original arc? I'd really love the feed back, just so I know whether it's engaging. I've been a but nervous having a crack at this. However I couldn't just head to Sabaody! I neglected Brook in the last arc, and I really wanted to give him some time to shine, as well as give Tani an arc. Since I cant really think of a way to implement an arc into the Post-time skip stuff... Also! Introducing a new ability for Tani that will appear in the near future :)c
Anyway! This arc won't be long, maybe one more chapter. So please tell me how it worked out? I'd love to know I can improve on my original content. Thanks in advance!)
