Chapter 12

POV Seraphina

I said goodbye to Jasper and then drove back home to pack my things.
All I could think about the whole way home was Jasper and his loving ways, even though I'd been ignoring him for the past few weeks.
I felt really bad about it and I definitely wanted to tell him how sorry I was.
My gaze went back to the blue rose that I had carefully placed next to me and a happy smile played on my lips.

As I closed the door behind me Micah, who must have been upstairs in his room, came towards me.
In any case, he didn't miss my big grin and he looked at me slightly suspiciously with a raised eyebrow, "I feel that today was a whole lot different than usual... would you let me in on your thoughts, dear sister?"
Micah caught me right away and now it would be almost impossible to hide the whole thing from him.

I had to playfully roll my eyes, but the grin didn't leave my face for a second.
"Is it really that noticeable?", I asked a bit caught and now it was Micah who raised an eyebrow.
Well at least I tried.
"I have a project I need to work on with Alice, so she invited me to stay the night", I tried to tone down the whole thing, leaving Jasper out of the story.
He gave me an understanding nod and I thought he would leave me alone now.

"Nothing else?", Micah continued looking at me quizzically, which made me sigh loudly, "you're not going to stop until you know everything are you?"
He gave me a cheeky wink and walked towards me with a grin.
"You can count on that", he said immediately and pulled me into the living room on the couch.

I explained to him that I wanted to give the Cullens some kind of chance to get to know them better.
After all, there was nothing wrong with making friends.
Of course, I couldn't keep my new seat at the Cullens' table a secret, and commented on the pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
He listened spellbound and was amazed when I told him about Emmett and Rosalie's hobby, which was very similar to ours.
"Damn that's pretty good news", he told me and I could already see ideas for new projects floating around in his head, which made me smile.

I actually wanted to completely ignore the Jasper thing until it finally dawned on me.
I crossed my arms and looked straight at my brother, "You can't tell me by any chance how Jasper knew my favorite flower were blue roses, can you?"
I gave Micah a piercing look and crossed my arms over my chest.

Almost immediately, a grin crossed his face that he tried to cover up, but I knew him well enough to know the meaning.
"Micah!", I laughed kicking him against his shoulder, "what about 'let's keep to ourselves'?"
I tried to imitate Aaron as best I could, which made Micah laugh as well.
I would never have thought my brother to be so sneaky.

"Those are Aaron's words, not mine. Besides, I don't think it hurts to get to know him", he said shrugging his shoulders, "he seemed very sincere."
I immediately wondered what the two of them had talked about that he could make such a statement, but I was aware that I wouldn't be able to squeeze anything more out of him and dropped the topic.
Kinda satisfied with his explanation, I went upstairs to my room to put my things away.

I dug out my English stuff and put the book on the table as I wanted to take it to Alice's.
It was a presentation about an important event in English history that we should pick out of our book. Still better than having to read a book and then interpreting some meaningless section of it.
However, my elbow clumsily bumped against it and it fell to the floor with a mild thud.
Since Aaron hadn't greeted me, I assumed he was asleep and prayed that my clumsiness hadn't woken him up.

Cursing, I rubbed my elbow which was buzzing quite a bit and I quickly picked up the book.
Almost angrily I stared at the book that had gotten in the way which was now lying lonely on the floor.
I picked it up and placed it back on my desk when I catched something white in the corner of my eye.

It was a piece of paper which I picked up and inspected. I unfolded it, thinking it must have fallen into my backpack, but apparently it was placed there on purpose.
First a number was written in a beautiful writing on the small piece of paper and then the sentence "Write me - Alice" underneath it.

I stared at the little piece of paper which yet again confirmed my thesis that Alice was simply unpredictable.
A little surprised that I hadn't noticed since I had my bag at all times with me, I quickly entered her number on my cell phone and wrote her a message.

S: Hey Alice! It's Sera :)

Not a second later I got a message and could only shake my head.
Alice you really are something else.

A: Hey Sera! I was hoping you would find my message. I wanted to tell you that my family and I already had dinner, but our kitchen is always open for you if you need anything ;)

I thanked Alice for her generosity, but I just decided to grab something to eat beforehand and texted her I would write her when I left.
I showed up at the Cullen's so suddenly, I certainly didn't want to be a burden to them.

I packed everything else out of my backpack and started thinking of important things for later.
After I was sure everything was in there, I squeezed in the English book and quickly closed it.
"Now that's done", I murmured to myself and wiped the invisible sweat from my forehead.
I had simply stuffed everything into my backpack that I could possibly use. Of course, this also included a few snacks, just in case.

I made my way to the kitchen to cook something for all of us.
I knew Micah was a kitchen hazard and Aaron couldn't cook right now, so I wanted to do us all a favor.
"Oh lucky! I thought I would have to cook today", came Micah's relieved voice behind me and I saw his thanking face.
It wasn't a big secret that he was kicked out of his cooking class at the Academy because the teacher was in despaire.

"After all, I can't leave the kitchen to your horrendeous cooking skills", I said with a smile and immediately earned a 'pfft' from Micah when he left again.
Of course he hated it to be reminded of his scandalous cooking skills.
"I'm not that bad", he said and then disappeared into the living room.

I immediately had to think of how he had once managed to set a pasta pan on fire and wanted to heat water in the microwave because he had missed the kettle.
A grin crept onto my face at the thought and I had to suppress a giggle.

After I was done, I took a portion and told Micah that I was done, who just said he would have dinner with Aaron later.
He was still asleep and appeared to be very weak as his power was sapped by the healing of his body.

I didn't think about it any further and let my thoughts drift back to Jasper when I looked at the blue rose I had placed in a vase.
His golden eyes, which sometimes seemed to change their brightness, looked at me with a loving gaze and his pink lips curled into a smile.
What would it be like to kiss Jasper?
My heart beat a few beats faster when I had to think about the incident in the library and a soft smile played on my lips.

He had called me Darlin...

Hold your horses, what the hell am I even thinking about.
I quickly pushed back my emotions that seemed to be revolving around Jasper and focused on the essentials again.

I knew I would see Jasper again today and that was what made me the most nervous.
I didn't know why, but seeing him again today and that at his home gave me goosebumps.
This would be the first time we met outside of school and I wondered if his parents would like me. After all, I had just ignored Jasper for weeks.

I scraped the last of the pasta off my plate and put it in the dishwasher.
Glancing at the clock I realized I could be on my way in a moment and I grabbed the vase to take it to my room.
I placed the vase on my desk and carefully began to change my bandage.  The injury now looked much better and continued to heal steadily.
Nevertheless, the imprint of a hand was unmistakable and I bandaged my arm again every few days.

Since Aaron was still asleep and I didn't want to wake him up for something like this, I grabbed my backpack and headed back towards the front door.
I quickly went through everything important in my head so that I didn't forget anything and then stopped again in the living room to say goodbye to Micah.
"I'll probably come back tomorrow evening", I said to Micah who wished me a lot of fun and let me go.

With quick steps I made my way to the garage where the gray car was parked and unlocked it with my key
My luggage was thrown on the passenger seat and I sat in the down to drive off.

I had gotten the address from Alice and let her know that I was on my way, to which she responded with a smiling smiley face.
A wave of curiosity and excitement swept through me again, which I let sink in.
I put my cell phone aside and finally pulled out of the driveway of our house.

Cullens, here I come!
