Chapter 26

Make-over

I can't stop admiring her room when we got here, it feels like astonishing to the feeling. And if I can mesuare her whole room would be the equivalent of our living room, it is huge enough for just a girl like her. There's a walk-in closet, private bathroom and her own terrace. I wouldn't be so much surprise to see this kind of living. She grow up with things she can have and I think, she doesn't bother how much money this all cost. It just that, she doesn't care.

Her bedroom filled with pink and gray atmosphere which is refreshing to eyes. This is my kind of my bedroom at sobrang perfect dahil ang ganda lang. Hindi boring at mabigat sa mata.

"Lathomia?" I called her.

She looked at me and her hair wave smoothly. "Just Mia, Alex. It is fine by me and I'm way too bothered by calling my fullname."

Napangiwi naman ako sa sinabi niya, it was really hard to call her out on it pero mukhang kakasanayan ko na rin siyang tawaging Mia... but not the way she called Korg—like Gi.

"Okay, fine, Mia." I smiled and she was like, go for it. "Nakakahiya man itanong ito..."

"It wouldn't be." Aniya, "so, what is it? There's nothing to be afraid of, tayong dalawa lang naman diba?"

I nodded to her, "anyway... I would just like to know how did you came up with your room? Ikaw ba ang nag-ayos nito? Sorry for asking this, I was just jealous of your room."

She giggled, "can I call that a compliment?" aniya at hindi ko alam ang isasagot sa kanya, "but sure, hindi naman ako madamot sa ganitong bagay and all this was my suggestions." She said, I just keep listening to her, wala akong maisagot sa kanya—ni hindi ko nga sigurado kung maitatawid pa itong girl's night na sinasabi niya. "Well, I asked my parents if I could be the one to design my room and they gave it to me. I just made it very me."

Muli naman akong tumango sa kanya, "you must be very thankful for your parents."

"I am." she nodded, "but they don't usually see my efforts, and nowadays it just didn't matter."

"Why would you say that?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Do you really wanna know?"

"No, if it's not okay, kahit hindi na." ngiti ko sa kanya, I wasn't really sure if it's invading her privacy.

She shook her head, "no, it is okay, hindi mo naman siguro iku-kwento sa ibang tao, diba?" she said and her tone were coming out with assurance on me, kaya naman tumango ako sa kanya and she was satisfied by it. "So... when I just wanted to do some things on my decicion, they always see what flaws I could made if I pushed it through but eventually when I did with no problem, they just give me a head nod, and that's that." She sighed, and it feels like she really had an issue there.

Hindi ko na binalak pang alamin ang tungkol sa kanilang pamilya, I just stayed silent. Inikot ko ang sarili kong paningin sa kanyang kwarto. Hindi ko maialis ang ngiti sa labi ko dahil hindi malinis, maayos at sobrang aliwalas. I couldn't define it more because it is really a girl's bedroom—para ngang hindi niya tinutulugan ito.

Naupo naman ako sa kanyang kama, bigla naman akong lumubog to tell that the comforter is really that good.

"Wow, you really got something here, Mia." Aniko.

She smirked, "I've got taste, even to boys..."

Tumabi naman siya sa akin sa kama, she wrapped her arms around mine and I think, I know where this will go. "You know, my life wasn't that much remarkable except for my achievements of course, that was the highlights. You got me more, Alex... I know there is more something interesting about you?"

Napakunot-noo ako sa sinabi niya. "Me?" It feels like she was just trying to say something good.

She nodded, "yes... you are." She said, she lose her arms on me saka niya ako hinarap sa kanya, "I was really curious about you."

"Hindi talaga, nagkakamali ka lang." ngiwi ko sa kanya.

Umiling siya sa akin, she doesn't agree with me and I'm don't know where she's heading into, "Okay... but I wanna ask, how did you and Gi met?" she asked, and I looked at her, creasing my forehead. Was that make me interesting just because I get to talked with Korg? "Oh, sorry, I called Gi because I used to call him like that noong kami pa and until now..."

"What's with him anyway?" tanong ko.

"Why did he find talking to you?"

"Tanong ba 'yan, Mia?"

"Yes, I was asking, ano ba sa tingin mo?" tawa pa niya saglit, "but anyway, would you mind, if its okay?"

Tumango naman ako sa kanya, "there's nothing much special about how we met..."

"No!" she exclaimed and my eyes widened in shock, hindi ko naintindihan kung bakit siya bigla-bigla na lang sumisigaw to the point na magkatabi lang naman kaming dalawa. "Every moment with Korgian is special, how come yours aren't?"

"Because it isn't." sagot ko sa kanya. Naningkit ang mga mata niya sa kanya, as if wanting more of it. "Before my first days start in Savvy, I attended the school tour for new students and when we reach the field, we saw the football players and Miss Keltz introduce him to us."

"That's all?" she asked.

Umiling naman ako sa kany, "actually, the first meeting actually wasn't that personal but on my first day is,"

"Tell me more, Alex."

I gulped, remembering our first interaction, "I had a lot of embarrassing moment that time—"

"Just get to the point, Alex."

"Okay... I bound to see him on the hallway—on the vendo, he was annoyed that his money was eaten by the machine and wouldn't give his snack."

"And what did you do?"

"I give him a bill to do it again."

She laughed, as if I did a mistake, "you know naman siguro that Gi didn't need help regards to money, right?"

Tumango naman ako sa kanya, "I know that... I just wanted to help."

"Or maybe you find the chance to do something, tama ba ako?"

Umiling ako sa sinabi niya, "that wasn't my intention, I'm just being the good one here."

"Whatever, I just miss him kaya gusto ko lang malaman kung anong nangyayari sa kanya." She said and it's like she's been missing him a lot lalo na't palagi siyang tinataboy nito, and why she couldn't distance herself kung nilalayuan na siya ni Korg? Determinado si girl. "You know what, I could give you some make-over to change the course of our girls night, right?"

Napakibit-balikat naman ako sa kanya, "hindi ko alam, anong klaseng make-over ba?"

"Do you want to change your hair color?" she said, and sneak a laugh. Hinawakan naman niya ang buhok ko at mukhang in-exam-in niya pa ito. "This looks already dry and boring. What do you think?"

I still don't know what to answer, "my hair color were still fine, though there's a streak of black hairs na tumutubo but that's okay and I'm loving it."

"But from other's perspective, you should do some changes."

"I don't think I needed one."

"Who said they don't need one?"

I raise my hand, "me?"

Tumawa naman siya sa akin, "that is where you are wrong girl. You know there's no harm to give something a bit of changes, right?"

Sumang-ayon ako sa kanya doon, "but the changes doesn't really necessarily have to happen."

Napabuntunghininga naman siya sa sinabi ko, "it is your choice, Alex. If you just wanted to be the plain, blonde girl. You would stay in that boring and neglected beauty."

"Really, you call me beauty?"

She shrugged off her shoulder, not wanting to say it again. "So, what's in your head?"

Brain.

"Maybe... change wouldn't harm me anyways," nilingon ko naman siya at binigyan ng tango. "Okay... I will do it!" I cheered and off with a big deep breath.

"Good choice girl, and now we start the girls night!" nang tumayo siya sa kama ay hinatak niya ako at pinaupo kaharap ang isang salamin. And suddenly, when she click something ay lumiwanag sa aking harapan at bumukas ang ilaw ng kanyang vanity mirror. I'm already jealous! Mas nakita ko ang face features ko sa salamin and I'm already throwing a lot of insult inside my brain. "I gotta prepare first and you just have to wait for the changes to happen."

I give my permission on her just by nodding. Nagsimula naman siyang kunin ang mga gamit na kailangan niya. The hair color mixtures and treatments. I didn't know she can do many things, pati na rin ang pagkulay ng buhok. She had a very brown hair and I think it's natural and why would she stock-up a hair color mixtures? Maybe for future purposes?

When she's done preparing, she started to put a cloth on me. She even gave me chips and can of coke to spare my time. She didn't even tell what color it is but she says she'll just fix my hair. At first, she started to trim the latter parts of my hair. Puro split ends at sobrang iritado niya kapag nagkakaroon ang buhok niya ng ganon.

But on my part, wala naman sa akin. Ni wala nga akong pakelam sa ayos ko. I just had to come to bleach my hair dahil trip ko lang at sobrang bored. It was also suggested by a customer from our laundry shop—which also a salon owner to give some color to my hair and he did it. But now it's going so dry and boring again—sabi ni Mia.

"I have to tell you something, Alex." Aniya habang naghahalo na nang mixture sa container.

Napakunot-noo ako sa kanya, looking at her from the mirror.

"Will there even a chance that you would make Gi and I to be okay again—I mean, iyong magiging maayos na ulit kaming dalawa and we can have back what was lost."

"Why would you ask me kung pwede mo naman siyang diretsuhin?"

She shook her head, "he wouldn't listen on me, that's why I needed you to be part of this."

"Are you using me to be the bridge of you and Korg?"

She disagree by shooking her head again, "no, why would you say that... but yeah, it sorts out like that. Gi wouldn't listen to me, wouldn't talk to me either. How can I bring him back to me when he couldn't give me the chance... if I could just bring back the time."

"What if he doesn't want it back?"

She looked at me, raising her brow, "what made you say Alex?"

I shrugged of her shoulder, "maybe something isn't always mendable."

"Alex..." her voice were like, I awe her something—and maybe, of why she's doing this. "Would you try?"

And it's like I have no choice, and I couldn't run into the situation. I ended up saying yes. Tuwang-tuwa naman siya nang sabihin koi yon, yayakapin sana niya ako nang maalala niyang kailangan na niyang simulant ang pag-aayos sa akin.

"But you know, Alex, I know someone looks good on you."

"Huh?"

"Do you know Gi's team mate, Alec?"

Tumango ako sa kanya, "Yes, we talked for some times."

"He likes you and I think, if you get to know him better, you will too." She said, "you can cheer him up on their play, right?"

I just didn't know what to say. It is like sinasabi niyang 'wag ko nang pakialam si Korg dahil pagmamay-ari na niya and she give me into someone na hindi niya magiging kompitensya. May naaamoy ako sa ginagawa ni Mia sa akin and I think, it's no better but if I still can ride her, gagawin ko na lang.

"Okay, let's start giving your hair something brighter!"

And I was left with wide-eye when she excitedly announced it.

Oh, damn, hope this make-over would attracts Korg's eyes.
