Chapter 19

I wake up and my eyes peel open barely, the sleep sealing them shut. After a minute of me picking the sleep from my eyes lashes I look to my left to see Billy Batson. "Billy?" I whisper out.

"Hey," He says, smiling as he hovers over me. I look up to see a hospital room light. I was back in the real world and couldn't help but feel safe. I grabbed Billy's shoulders, pulling him down quickly into a hug. He smiles into my neck, hesitantly wrapping his arms around my hips.

"What time is it?" I ask. He pulls away and checks his phone.

"It's almost three, why?" He asks. I guess I came off kind of paranoid. I sit up and pull him in for a gentle kiss. He kisses back and I smile into it.

"You make me feel safe," I whisper to him.

"I'll do anything to make you feel and be safe," He simply states. I look at the door and notice it's open.

"Baby? Can I tell you something?" I ask. I was going to tell him about everything going on with dream Billy because I knew he could help.

"Of course... Is everything okay?" He asks. I could see the worry in his eyes. I grab his hand and begin.

"I've been having this dream recently," I say. He nods his head in understanding. "So... Basically it's you. But it isn't you? I feel as if this dream is like... Real. Anyways... Yesterday when everything went all crazy and stuff, I woke up in my dream world that I told you about."

"Dreamworld, okay," he says. He was listening carefully. I smile gently.

"Okay well... Um... So I woke up in that dream place and I became kind of scared when I like... Tried to stand up but he said that I'd cut off my life support if I moved. So like... The dream world is like an alternate universe of our natural earth." I looked into his eyes and he just looked at me like I was crazy. "So basically, I think it's real," I say.

"You think your dream world... Is an alternate universe of our own world... and it's real?" He asks. I could see in his pretty eyes that he didn't believe me.

"Billy..." I started feeling embarrassed. "Please, believe me," I say.

"You want me to believe you?" He asks. "That's the craziest thing I've ever heard."

I gave him a look. "THAT'S the craziest thing you've ever heard?" I ask. "You can say a silly word and become an adult," I say. He chuckles and I frown.

"Okay, you need to sleep," he says before pressing his lips to mine. I kiss him back before he starts walking out.

"Billy!" I yell, tears burning my eyes. "Please..." I whine. I feel the tears spill down my cheeks. The thought that my boyfriend didn't believe me. As long as he didn't, believe me, that left me in more possible danger.

"Sweetie?" I hear Rosa say, she walks in slowly, cautiously. "What's wrong?" She asks.

I sigh and lay back on the bed. "He doesn't believe me. I told him a big secret and he doesn't believe me..."

She looks around the room before sitting down. "Sweetheart," she states. "You'll be fine."

"No... My dreams." She inhaled uncomfortably. "Something is mentally attacking me. I don't know what it is, Rosa. I'm so freaking scared," I say, staring into her eyes. She looked awkwardly uncomfortable.

"Hon, they're just dreams." She shakes her head in disbelief.

"NO! ROSA! LISTEN! THIS IS SOMETHING MORE! IT'S SOMETHING FUCKING TERRIFYING! IT'S REAL! IT'S CONNECTED TO THE REAL WORLD! YOU... You have to help me... Please." I hadn't meant to yell at her, flip out on her. I just couldn't hold it in anymore.

She just opened her arms. I fell into her arms and just sobbed. "Rosa, p-please believe me," I mumble. The way she hadn't been responding made me uncomfortable.

"Sweetie, they're just nightmares," She mumbles. I pull away in slight anger.

"No! Screw this..." I knew nobody on this planet would ever believe me. I sounded crazy. Then it hit me, the one person that really would be able to believe me and try and help. Freddy Freeman. My best friend. "You're right, can you get Freddy for me?" I ask.  She was a little weirded out I had told her she was right so quickly.

"Y-Yeah, sure," she says. I sighed happily and sat on the bed. I hear a voice in the back of my head.

"You have to come back soon." It was the dream, Billy. I tear up. Freddy walks in and I tell him to close the door. He does as directed before walking over, pulling a chair with him so he can take a seat.

"What's up?" He asks, placing his hand on my thigh. I climb off the bed once again, quickly wrapping my arms around his waist. I was on my knees between his legs, my arms tight around his torso while my head laid on his chest.

"Do you love me?" I whisper, tears burning my eyes, shakiness evident in my voice. It sounded weird to him because... Well, because he's Freddy.

I looked up at him as he looked down at me. "Um... You know I'm Freddy, not Billy. Right?" He asks. I groan and stand up, he follows my actions, doing the same. I strap my arms around his neck and hug him close, his arms snaking around my small waist.

"Do. You. Love. Me? As a friend? Best friend?" I whisper into his ear. I feel him nod, his skin rubbing against mine.

"O-Of course I love you," he whispers, a nervous chuckle following. I feel his lips connect with my ear gently, friendly.

"You have to help me," I whisper. I crush the fabric of his shirt in my hands. "I'm going to tell you what happened, you won't let go of this hug until I'm done. Understood?" I felt the tears sting my eyes as I wiped my nose on his t-shirt sleeve.

"I already heard everything you said," He states. The way he had said that made me nervous. I thought he didn't believe me until he said the most heroic sentence I could bet you a billion dollars he's wanted to say his entire life.

"I believe you. I will protect you. I'm going to help you, but we need to leave. Right. Now. Trust me... I'll save you." I felt my smile stretch as tears spilled down my cheeks quickly and hugged him tighter than god would've allowed.
