As Billy Batson joined Luz and her friends, Emperor Belos was plotting his next move towards his master plan. As he does so, Kikimora: one of Emperor Belos's chief lieutenants enters the throne room and bows before the Emperor.

Kikimora: I am pleased to inform you that my assignment was a success.

Belos: Very good, Kikimora. The Golden Guard is still out on his assignment. He should return momentarily.

Kikimora: Apologies for speaking out of turn, but can we really trust the Golden Guard?

Belos: How many times must I say this, Kikimora? The Golden Guard has an important role in the days to come.

Kikimora: Yes, my lord.

Belos: Is there anything else you have to report?

Kikimora: I do, my emperor. I have received word that the squadron we sent to apprehend the Owl Lady has failed. It would appear that this was the actions of another human. A human who wielded the power of lightning.

Upon hearing this, Belos became interested. To hear that a human wielded the power of lightning came as a pleasant surprise. Kikimora then shows Belos a drawing of the lightning bolt on Shazam's chest. Suddenly, a loud boom was heard outside the palace followed by the sound thunder. Belos and Kikimora along with a few Coven Guards went outside to investigate the disturbance. To their shock, they found Black Adam standing before them. Black Adam looks around his surroundings with interest.

Black Adam: I am not familiar with this place. Where am I?

Belos: You are in the Boiling Isles.

Black Adam: I sense a strong presence of magic in this place.

Belos: You would be correct. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Belos, Emperor of the Boiling Isles and the Voice of the Titan. Who might you be?

Black Adam: You will call me Black Adam.

As Black Adam introduced himself to Belos, the Emperor of the Boiling Isles could sense a great power within Black Adam.

Belos: I sense a great power within you.

Black Adam: Of course you do. You stand before a champion of Shazam. I wield the wisdom, strength, stamina, power, courage and speed of the Gods. You have never seen a power such as mine.

Belos: Then perhaps this is familiar to you.

Belos then hands Black Adam the drawing of Shazam's lightning bolt. Upon seeing it, Black Adam crumpled the paper in his hand.

Black Adam: So the wizard's errand fool arrived in this world as well. That must he have the Tablet of the Titan with him.

Belos: The Tablet of the Titan, you say? Now this is interesting. I have sought the Tablet for a long time. If this Shazam has the Tablet, then perhaps we can form an alliance. It is clear that the Titan has brought you here for a reason.

As Belos says this, Black Adam turned to Belos.

Black Adam: And what do you have to offer me?

Belos: I can help you destroy your enemy. In return, you will help me reclaim the Tablet of the Titan so that I may cleanse the Boiling Isles of wild magic and bring about the Day of Unity. You can help merge the Boiling Isles with the Human world. And you will have a new place in the new order.

Black Adam: You presume much if you believe you can command me, mortal. I bow to no one.

As Black Adam refused Belos's offer, Kikimora and the Coven Guards readied their weapons.

Belos: You would dare refuse me? I am the Emperor of the Boiling Isles and the Voice of the Titan.

Black Adam: And I am a God. Before me, you are nothing. Allow me to show you true power.

Without warning, Black Adam unleashes a torrent of lightning on Belos and his allies. The force of the lightning blasts them all into the throne room. As Belos gets up, Black Adam slowly approaches him.

Black Adam: Is this all your power has to offer?

In response to Black Adam's taunt, Belos uses his artificial magic to sharp spikes of rock up from the ground. He then hurls them at Black Adam, but Black Adam easily powers through them. Before Belos could react, Black Adam grabbed Belos by the throat.

Black Adam: You call yourself an Emperor, but you are merely an ant before me. Where is your Titan?! If you truly are the Titan's voice, then why are you so easily defeated?!

Belos struggles to free himself from Black Adam's grip, but was unable to as Black Adam began to beat Belos down. Eventually, Black Adam throws Belos against the door. Kikimora rushed to Belos's side.

Black Adam: How utterly pathetic. And to think you call yourself an Emperor. I should kill you like the ant you are. But I shall not not. I will let you live to wallow in your shame. Now leave.

As Black Adam mocks Belos, Kikimora was prepared to battle against Black Adam, but Belos intervened.

Belos: No, Kikimora. We will have our chance at retribution. For now, we must live to fight another day.

With that, Belos and Kikimora fled the palace along with those loyal to Belos. As for Black Adam, he glances to Belos's throne. He walked to the throne and sat upon it, crowning himself the ruler of the Boiling Isles. The Coven Guards bent the knee to Black Adam out of fear of his power.

Black Adam: From this day forth, I am your ruler! From this day forth, I am your God!

As Black Adam crowned himself the supreme ruler of the Boiling Isles, his mind fell on his mortal enemy. He knew that Shazam was no doubt in possession of the Tablet of the Titan. Now that he had the might of the Emperor's Coven at his disposal, he would use his newfound resources to reclaim the Tablet of the Titan as well as destroy Shazam.
