Shawn's Side [Sequel]
A.N.- Sequel to Twice The Love, Twice The Hate. I Just Had To Fall For Twins. Despite the name of the story, it's also going to get into Shane's POV and whatnot. It's just mostly about what happened to Shawn. There's a 90% chance this is the last book of the series, so, enjoy :)

“Well hi there!” I said brightly. “Hi Shawn. Where’s your brother?” my “friend” Nina asked with a small smile. “Shane’s with his girlfriend. It must be nice to be in a relationship,” I said with a sigh, running a hand through my hair.
“Yea, I guess,” Nina said with a shrug. Ha. Guess we’d find out soon enough. I had been planning to ask Nina out for a while, but I’d been busy dealing with my brother’s girlfriend, Luna. I had finally realized, however, that I had been stupid and insensitive to my brother about that whole situation. The last thing I ever wanted to do was hurt Shane.
I held my hand out to Nina and she took it. I pulled her up and hugged her tightly. She giggled and shoved my off of her jokingly. “Ew! You have cooties, Shawn!” she said, giggling more. It was fucking adorable.
“STDs is more like it, but I guess cooties works,” I said with a casual shrug. She rolled her eyes at me and playfully hit me. She knew I wasn’t a sexual kind of guy. My parents had had me when they were 15. My mom had done a damn good job of drilling the whole concept of waiting until marriage into my head.
I grabbed her hand and we began to walk towards the lunchroom together. We basically were dating. We just lacked the kissing and the title. But I’d fix that up by the end of the week. I really wanted to be with Nina. I wasn’t really a relationship kind of guy, and neither was my brother. But lately, it just seemed like the time for change.
“So, do you want to hang out afterschool?” I asked and she shrugged and nodded. “Sure! But can we go to your house, Shawn?” I bit my lip. My dad had recently quit drinking, and his temper was flaring like a motherfucker from the withdrawal after 6 years of constant inebriation.
“Why my house?” I asked as casually as I could. She thought for a moment and then shrugged again. “I don’t know. I’ve just never been to your house before. Or really met your brother. I’ve only seen you with him. You’re always over my house so I figure we could go over to your house for a change,” she said with a slight smile.
I mentally sighed, knowing things weren’t going to go over well. “Sure,” I said, trying to ignore the fact that I would more than likely regret this.
My dad had been extremely gentle with Shane, and rougher with me. It used to be the other way around when he was drunk. I was happier than a motherfucker that he was being so good to my brother, but I was a little scared for myself. My dad could get violent very, very easily. He had gone back to slapping me whenever I swore, and it hurt. A lot.
We sat down at the table together with my best friend, Type. Shane had been going up to the library with Luna to work on some research project for his English class. He had never actually talked to Nina before. They had only seen each other from a distance. I had warned her that she had to be gentle and reassuring with him. He was terrified of people. He was incredibly sensitive.
The end of the day came and I led Nina to my bus. I sat down with her and watched as Shane got on the bus, talking to some kid he was sort of friends with. They sat down together after Shane glanced at me with Nina.
I felt guilty, but tried to push it away. It was good for Shane to sit with other kids. He needed friends. He couldn’t keep himself isolated. It wasn’t good for him. I only wanted to help him.
We got off the bus at my house and I grabbed Nina’s hand nervously as we walked towards the front door. Shane had his head down and was playing with his lip ring nervously, unsure of what to say. He wasn’t good with social skills. I’d introduce him to Nina once we got up to our bedroom.
We went inside and slipped our shoes off. “Hi boys,” our mom called. “Hey mom,” I called out as I led Nina into the living room. Mom glanced up at us from her laptop and smiled lightly. “Hello,” she said to Nina.
“Hi,” Nina said politely. “Mom, this is my friend Nina. Nina, this is my mom,” I said, hating my life. I hated introducing people to my mom.
“Where’s dad?” I asked nervously. Mom shrugged. “He’s upstairs taking a nap. Don’t you kids wake him up. He’s in a proper awful mood.” “Great,” I grumbled, grabbing Nina’s hand and pulling her upstairs with me.
I pulled her into mine and Shane’s bedroom. Shane followed behind a moment later and set his bag down before turning to leave, probably to give Nina and I some privacy. I grabbed his arm to stop him.
“Shane, this is Nina. Nina, this is my twin brother Shane,” I said. Nina smiled gently at him. “Hi Shane!” she said. “H-H-Hi,” Shane stuttered shyly, his eyes dropping down to his feet.
“Let’s listen to music,” I suggested with a shrug and moved over to the CDs we had. I reached for one and accidentally knocked the whole pile over. I flinched as it crashed to the ground. Oh shit. My dad was going to wake up and beat my ass for that.
I got on my knees and quickly began to stack them back up. Being as smooth as I was, I managed to knock over several pictures. They hit the ground, thumping loudly as they did so. “Fuck!” I cried angrily.
“Shawn!” My eyes widened as I spun to face my dad, his face furious. Oh god. He was going to kill me in front of my future girlfriend. Great.
