I actually first found out about her music when I was watching the Grammy's for Shawn. She performed her song Rainbow and it was beautiful. Also, let's pretend that it's the middle of August of 2020, shall we? Anyways, please enjoy this imagine. Okay, without further ado, let's begin!

I've been dating the singer and songwriter Shawn Mendes for a little over eight months now. We just went public with our relationship three months ago. The same day that we went public, Shawn asked me if I wanted to do a live stream with him. I told him no, not yet. I needed to get adjusted a little bit before doing a live stream where tens of thousands of people would be watching, and he understood.

Shawn and I were sitting on the lounge chair on his balcony while we had some music playing. I'm visiting him in Toronto for the summer. Well, it's more like I'm living with him for the summer, but we both love it. Being together so often like this has brought us closer and we've gotten to know each other even better. We met last August, and then last December he flew to my house in Massachusetts and asked me to be his girlfriend. Obviously I said yes. I was laying so my back was against his chest as he held me.

"Baby?" He asked before kissing my shoulder.

"Hmmm?" I responded.

"I was hoping to do a live stream and I was hoping that you would join me. It's been a little over three months since we went public. What do you think my love? Want to do a live stream with me?" He asked. I turned around so I was straddling his lap. He looked at me with so much love in his eyes that my heart could have bursted at that moment.

"Do you think that I'm ready for it? I mean, a lot of people are going to be watching your live stream, like, tens of thousands of people will be watching me in your live stream. Do you really think that I'm ready for that?" I asked. He smiled and nodded as he rubbed my sides.

"Of course I do baby. I've known that you're ready to do this for a while, but you felt like you weren't ready so I didn't want to push you. My fans have seen pictures of you, but how about they hear your voice and get to know you more?" He asked. I thought for a moment and then nodded.

"Okay." I said.

"Really? You'll do a live stream with me?" He asked, his smile wide. I giggled, gave him a kiss on the cheek, and then nodded at him.

"Yeah. Can I still sit on your lap or should I get off your lap?" I asked.

"Stay on my lap darling." He said.

"Wait, I'm not wearing any makeup, let me go put on some makeup." I said. I went to stand up but Shawn held my waist.

"Nope, you look beautiful without makeup. I love you." He said.

"I love you too." I said. I turned around so my back was against his chest and Shawn got his Instagram ready.

"Ready?" He asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be." I said. He chuckled and started the live stream. He kissed my shoulder right after he started the live steam and he kept his arm around my waist.

"Hi guys. So, you guys have seen pictures of my lovely and amazing girlfriend, Y/n Y/l/n, but you guys haven't seen any videos of her and she hasn't been in any of my live streams. I love the sound of her voice. If she talked to me all day long about anything and everything, I would sit there and listen, so I want you guys to know what her voice and her laugh and giggles sound like too." Shawn said before tickling my stomach a little. I laughed.

"No! Don't tickle me!" I said as I sat forward. Shawn laughed.

"Sorry babe, I had to tickle you so you would laugh. I want my fans to hear you laugh. Come here darling, come lay on me again." He said.

"Are you going to tickle me again?" I asked. He shook his head.

"Nope." He said.

"Promise?" I asked. He chuckled and nodded.

"I promise you that I won't tickle you again." He said. I lead back against him again.

"Okay, thank you." I said. He kissed my cheek and my smile widened. I love him.

"You're welcome my love. Oh look babe, people are asking questions about you." He said.

"Oh my gosh. I want to crawl into a hole or something." I said as I turned so my face was buried in Shawn's neck. Shawn erupted into laughter and I could feel the vibrations of his laughter since I was leaning on him.

"Okay, don't worry babe, I got this one. Someone just asked if you like to read." He said. I picked my head up and smiled.

"Yeah you definitely know the answer to that one." I said with a giggle. Shawn chuckled and nodded.

"Yeah, so Y/n has been here since the middle of May, and when she first got here, she had like, what was it, four books with you?" Shawn asked me.

"I think it was five." I said. Shawn nodded and then looked back at his phone.

"Yeah, so she had about five books and sometimes, if she woke up before me, she would come out here on my balcony and read, or sometimes she would just randomly pull out a book and read. So, it got to the point that she ran out of books. You guys know that I'm not a reader, but because of this bookworm of a girl that I'm dating, I now have a library card and I now know what the local library looks like. Now she has more books and she's happy." Shawn said.

"I hope you know that I don't need the books to be happy. I just need you and I'll be the happiest person alive." I said to Shawn. His smile widened and he put his lips on mine. I felt my heart race as if I had just run a marathon, I felt butterflies erupt and fly around in my tummy, and I felt sparks shoot through me like fireworks. I smiled into the kiss and so did Shawn, so we pulled away. Shawn looked at his phone.

"I love kissing her. I get crazy and amazing feeling when I kiss her. It's great. Sometimes her and I have to pull away from the kiss because we're too busy smiling, which is what just happened. OH MY GOSH BABE THIS IS OUR SONG!" Shawn yelled as Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves started playing.

"Should we dance to it?" I asked. Shawn nodded.

"Yes!" He said. I laughed and watched him angle his phone so that people who were watching the live stream could watch us dance. He put one hand on my waist and the other hand in my hand. My hand rested on his shoulder as we danced.

"How am I doing with the live stream? Am I doing okay?" I asked. He nodded.

"Yes you are babe. You're doing great and I'm very proud of you for that." He said before twirling me. I smiled and giggled. The song came to an end and then Shawn and I sat back down.

"I feel like you and I have an unspoken rule that if we hear that song, we must dance to it." I said with a smile. Shawn chuckled and nodded.

"Pretty much, yeah. Hey, don't you love that video of Kacey Musgraves from Coachella 2019?" Shawn asked with a smirk because he knew my answer. I laughed and nodded.

"Yes! I love it!" I said. Shawn chuckled and he looked at his phone.

"There's a video of Kacey Musgraves from last year's Coachella and she's trying to get the crowd to say yee haw, and then she kind of fakes them out where she holds the microphone to her lips and then out to the crowd as if she just said yee, so the crowd says haw, but she didn't say yee, so babe, do you want to say what she said?" Shawn asked.

"Can I say it or should I bleep out the word that she said?" I asked.

"Maybe bleep out that one word that she said." Shawn said. I nodded.

"Yeah, so she was like 'I didn't say bleeping yee.' and it's just hilarious." I said. Shawn nodded as he rubbed my side.

"Yeah it is." He said. I realized that I felt more relaxed - which was probably due to the fact that I was with Shawn. I turned in his lap a little so my back was no longer against his chest, but now I was sitting sideways on him. He smiled at me and I smiled back. I then put my hand to his cheek and kissed his other cheek a few times - not quickly, but gently, slowly, and lovingly. He hummed and rubbed my back. I pulled away and looked at him.

"I love you." I said. His smile widened.

"I love you too baby. You're my girl." He said.

"I like being your girl. Actually I love being your girl." I said.

"Yeah?" He asked before kissing my cheek.

"Yeah." I said.

"And why is that?" He asked. I smiled at him.

"It's because you make me happier than I've ever been in my whole life. You've seen me, the real me, the one where I'm shaking because I'm crying so hard, yet you still love me, and instead of getting scared away, you sit with me, hold me, and comfort me. You shower me with your love and affection and you always tell me that I'm beautiful and gorgeous and stunning. You just... you're amazing in every way possible. You're not just my boyfriend, you're my best friend." I said. He smiled and kissed me.

"Holy crap I love you." He said when we pulled away. I giggled.

"I love you too." I said. He then looked at his phone. People were saying things and asking questions.

"No guys, the ring that Y/n is wearing is not an engagement ring." Shawn said.

"Nope, it's a promise ring." I said.

"I gave it to her the day after we said I love you to each other for the first time. We had gone out to get breakfast - this was back in March when she came to visit me for the first time - and so we were just sitting in the middle of IHOP, eating pancakes, and that's when I promised this beautiful girl that's sitting on my lap that someday I'll switch her promise ring out for an engagement ring and then a wedding ring. She's not going anywhere guys, I can promise you that." Shawn said. I kissed his cheek and then looked at his phone.

"Shawn, someone wants to know if I'm just a fling." I said with a small giggle.

"No way is she a fling! She's the love of my life! Y/n and I say I love you to each other, I got her this promise ring, she's living with me for the summer which is great because I get to wake up next to my best friend every morning. Her and I have talked about the fact that we want to get married someday, and we know that we want to be married for a year before we have kids and we know what we want to name our future kids. Trust me guys, someday Y/n and I will be spending time with our grandchildren." Shawn said. I kissed his cheek.

"I love you." I said. He smiled at me.

"I love you too. Always and forever I love you." He said. I smiled.

"You're amazing." I said.

"That's you my love." He said. I blushed and then looked at his phone.

"My contact name for Y/n is 'my girl' with a pink heart emoji on both sides of the contact name. What's your contact name for me honey?" Shawn asked me.

"My Love but I have the heart eye emoji on both sides of it." I said. Shawn smiled.

"You make me smile. Did you know that?" He asked before kissing my cheek. I smiled.

"Well you make me smile too." I said. He cuddled his face into my neck and sighed. "You okay bubs?"

"Yeah, I'm just really happy and I really love you. You mean the world to me." He said. I smiled and ran my fingers through his hair.

"I feel the same way about you baby. I really love you too." I said. Shawn placed a gentle kiss on my neck and then picked his head up and looked at his phone.

"How did I celebrate my birthday this year? Well, this amazing girl that I'm dating went out to a store with Brian when I was sleeping and got a whole bunch of balloons and some of them said '22' on them. Then, when I woke up, Y/n gave me twenty two kisses, and I loved each and every single one of them. Then she goes 'Come here, I have something to show you' and that was when I got up and saw all of the balloons. Plus, she got me presents and a cake!" Shawn said with a big smile.

"Did you like your presents?" I asked. Shawn smiled at me.

"I loved them! Do you mind if I tell people what you got me?" He asked. I shook my head as I smiled.

"No, that's fine my love." I said before kissing his cheek. He looked at his phone.

"So she got me a ring that's in the shape of a guitar and I love it so much. Also, she got me three pictures and she framed them. One of them is our first picture together, another one is from when I surprised her for her birthday in April and we went to the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum and we took a selfie with President Kennedy's sailboat together, and the other photo is one that I think Andrew took. We were sitting right here and Y/n's all cuddled up to me and it's really cute. She got those pictures framed and now I have our first picture next to my side of the bed, and we have the picture with JFK's sailboat on her side of the bed, and the picture of us cuddling is near my couch." Shawn said.

"Did you like it at the Kennedy library?" I asked. Shawn looked at me and nodded.

"Yeah, but that was mostly because I was with you." He said. I smiled and gave him a quick kiss.

"What was your favorite part?" I asked. He thought for a moment.

"Ummm, oh gosh. I liked seeing the Attorney General's office, but I also liked the twenty minute video that we watched before we went to the rest of the museum. What was your favorite part babe? You've only been there a million times." Shawn asked and said. I laughed and nodded.

"Yeah. Um, I think that my favorite part was at the very end, when it was all about his legacy and they have a piece of the Berlin Wall there. But I also really liked the fact that they didn't dwell on his assassination. It's just one short hallway that says 'November 22, 1963' before you walk into the hallway, and then there's just the three little tvs that repeatedly play Walter Cronkite announcing JFK's death and then a little bit of the funeral." I said. Shawn nodded.

"Yeah, I liked that part too. You look tired baby girl, do you want to go take a nap?" Shawn asked. I shook my head.

"No, I'm fine. I want to stay with you." I said.

"Darling, I would end the live stream so we can take a nap together." He said. I shook my head.

"No, you don't have to do that baby." I said. Shawn looked at his phone.

"Well my girl looks tired so I'm going to nap with her. I love you guys, bye!" Shawn said. He then ended the live stream and saved it.

"Did I do okay?" I asked.

"You did wonderfully my love. I love you and I'm very proud of you." He said. I smiled and gave him a kiss.

"I love you too and thank you for being proud of me." I said. He smiled.

"Of course baby. I'm always proud of you. Now come on, let's go nap." He said. I nodded and we went inside and laid down in his bed. He gently pulled me close to him and then rested his forehead against mine.

"Can you do me a favor?" I asked as I closed my eyes. Shawn rubbed my back.

"Yeah, what's up babe?" He asked.

"Will you hold and love me forever?" I asked.

"Oh, my sweet girl, that was already the plan." He said. I smiled.

"Okay." I said, and then fell asleep in the arms of the man that I love. I'm so happy and glad that he's proud of me.
