70. He Talks About You In An Interview
A/n: Okay so in my last imagine, Shawn told Jimmy Fallon to ask him lots of questions about Y/n, so I decided to write this. Anyways, please enjoy this imagine. Okay, without further ado, let's begin!
Shawn's point of view
"So do you really think that he's going to ask you lots of questions about me?" Y/n Y/l/n, my girlfriend of about a year and a half asked. I finished my album which has a lot of songs about Y/n on it, and now I'm doing promotions for that album, which is why I'm doing the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
"Well the last time I saw Jimmy was when I was with you at that restaurant in Santa Monica and I told him to ask me lots of questions about you." I said.
"Why do I get the feeling that you're going to make my face red while I'm watching the interview?" She asked. I laughed.
"Because you know me so well. I have to go, but I love you darling." I said.
"I love you too baby." She said, and we hung up. Soon, I heard Jimmy say my name and I walked out and gave him a bro hug.
"How are you?" Jimmy asked.
"I'm good, how are you?" I asked.
"I'm good. So, the last time I saw you was last year, and I was at a restaurant with someone, and I heard you laughing." Jimmy said.
"Yeah that was hilarious. That was the night that you met my girlfriend, Y/n." I said.
"Yes, and you told me to ask lots of questions about her the next time that I interview you, which is now." Jimmy said. I nodded.
"Yeah. Well I love talking about her. I have to say, after you walked away when we saw you, Y/n said that her life was made and that she was going to print out the selfie that you and her took and frame it and put it on her wall, but she was laughing when she said it, so I thought that she was joking, you know?" I asked.
"Yeah." Jimmy said.
"So, in December we celebrated one year together, and I was recording in Malibu, and then I flew to Boston so her and I could fly to Toronto together and she stayed at my place until towards the end of January. I get to her house, and she's like 'Babe, come here.' and I follow her into her bedroom, and on her wall, in a frame, is the picture of you and her." I said. Jimmy laughed.
"That's great. She seems so nice and sweet." Jimmy said. I smiled.
"She's the sweetest. Like, yes the reason why we were having dinner the night that she met you for the first time was because she had gotten into an argument with someone on my team, and I love the person that she got into an argument with, but he said somethings that he shouldn't have said and she got upset, so he said that we should go out to dinner and it would be on him. But the thing is, she's almost never like that. For me, if I hear her yelling, that means that some bad crap is happening because she doesn't yell." I said.
"Well when I met you guys, you could just tell that you're both so in love with each other, and I remember thinking 'I bet they never fight.'" Jimmy said. I chuckled.
"No, we fight sometimes. We've been together for about a year and a half now, and I think that we've gotten into about three or four fights, so we don't fight that often, and we always make up afterwards." I said.
"So how did you guys meet?" Jimmy asked. I smiled at the memory.
"I was on tour and I went to a Dunkin Donuts in Boston and Y/n was at the front of the line, and then she got her drink and turned around and saw me. She asked me for a picture, and my first words to her were 'I'm sorry what? You have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen.' which made her blush and then within five or so minutes of meeting, I asked her out on a date and she said yes." I said.
"So how did you ask her to be your girlfriend?" Jimmy asked.
"I had just finished tour, and we had been texting, calling, and Facetiming constantly for the past four months, and so I texted her and asked what her address is and she told me. I found a local floral, got some pink tulips because I remembered that they were her favorite, and showed up at her house and asked her to be my girlfriend. She said yes obviously and it's been great." I said.
"The look on your face when you talk about her is so beautiful, and I've seen some live streams that you guys have done together, and you guys seem to be so in love with each other." Jimmy said.
"Yeah, I'm so beyond in love with her, and I tell her that all of the time. I mean, I'm head over heels, madly, deeply, insanely, crazily in love with her. She really is my everything. I mean, she's seen me when I'm at my most vulnerable, and I've seen her when she's at her most vulnerable. I remember her apologizing to me about crying, and she had been crying about the anniversary of her friend's death, and I was like 'Never apologize for this.'" I said.
"I remember that she made a random appreciation post about you and she wrote about her friend's death. Did you know that she was going to make that post?" Jimmy asked. I shook my head.
"No. Well, she had asked if it was okay to post something on Instagram about me, but she didn't say what exactly she was going to post, and then when I saw it and read the caption, I felt very proud of her. I mean, I loved the fact that she had posted about me, but I was so proud of her for writing about Jake, the friend that passed away, in her post because it took her awhile to open up to me about him, and so for her to post about him, knowing that tons of people were going to see it, that's no small thing for her." I said. Jimmy nodded.
"So is it fair to say that you guys are best friends?" Jimmy asked. I nodded.
"Definitely. We're definitely best friends, which I love. My friends always get so amazed because they see us when we're teasing each other and being silly, but they also see us when we're having those moments where she's getting emotional and I'm there for her, and when I get upset anything she's right there for me as well, or when we're having a really cute moment where, like I'll be telling her how much I love her, or she'll be telling me that she adores me more than anything. She's the one that I call in the middle of the night when my anxiety is bothering me and when she can't sleep and it's two in the morning or something, I'm the one that she calls." I said.
"How hard is it to be in a long distance relationship?" Jimmy asked. I sighed.
"It's very hard. There are moments when all I want to do is hug her and kiss her, and I can't because, if we're both at our homes, we're 557 miles away from each other. But then when we see each other, it's like we were never apart." I said.
"So whenever you guys reunite, what's the first thing that you guys do?" Jimmy asked.
"Hug and kiss until we can't possibly hug and kiss anymore, and then we just sit down and cuddle and talk." I said with a smile.
"I remember seeing a video of you and her, and you guys were at the studio back in August, and she was literally jumping into your arms and you caught her so her legs were around your waist. Was that you guys being reunited after a while?" Jimmy asked. I chuckled and shook my head, knowing what video he was talking about.
"No, there was no sound in the video, but if there was sound, you would've heard Y/n yelling 'Happy one year anniversary of meeting!' and it was really great that Teddy caught that moment on video." I said.
"Wait, so when was the last time that you guys had seen each other before that? Because she seemed pretty happy to see you." Jimmy asked and said.
"Yeah, so I had woken up before her, but we had fallen asleep together the night before." I said.
"Do you think that at one of your concerts, you'll bring her on stage?" Jimmy asked and the crowd cheered. I looked at the audience.
"Do you guys want to see me serenade my girlfriend on tour?" I asked the audience and they cheered.
"The Tonight Show audience has spoken." Jimmy said. I nodded.
"Yes, and I know that Y/n's at home watching this right now. She hates being in front of a lot of people, like when we go to do live streams together, she knows that a lot of people are going to be watching so it takes a little bit to get her to do a live stream with me. I don't know how she'll react to being on stage with me, but I'll call her after the interview and ask her." I said.
"Do you know her phone number by heart?" Jimmy asked. I nodded.
"Yeah." I said. He pulled out a phone and I laughed.
"Let's give her a call and find out right now. I'll block it so the audience can't see her number." Jimmy said. I picked up the phone and started calling her number.
"She's going to hate me forever." I said and the audience and Jimmy laughed.
"Hello?" Y/n asked.
"Hey baby, are you watching the interview right now?" I asked.
"Yeah." She said.
"So what do you think of coming on stage with me?" I asked. She paused for a moment.
"I think you're insane and that you're going to have to drag me on the stage. I say that with love." She said. The audience, Jimmy, and I laughed.
"But it would be so much fun! Come on babe, I could sing to you and all you have to do is sit there and be your beautiful self." I said. She paused again and I chuckled when I heard her sigh.
"The things I do for you." She finally said.
"So is that a yes, you'll come on stage with me when I'm on tour?" I asked.
"Yes." She said. The audience cheered and I high fived Jimmy.
"I love you darling." I said.
"I love you too honey." She said, and we hung up.
"Mission accomplished." I said. Jimmy laughed.
"So what song do you think you'll sing to her?" Jimmy asked. I thought for a moment.
"I'm not sure. Honestly, I might have my engineers play a certain song and maybe her and I could dance - like, slow dance." I said.
"What song?" Jimmy asked.
"Well now I have to keep that as I surprise for her." I said and Jimmy smiled and nodded.
"So you guys have been together for over a year. How did you guys celebrate your anniversary?" Jimmy asked. I smiled at the memory of that day.
"I made us pancakes and she made coffee and tea, and then we exchanged presents and had a movie marathon, and then I took her out to dinner that night." I said.
"What did you get her as a present?" Jimmy asked.
"I got her a dress and a necklace, and she made me a collage of photos of her and I and she made it in the shape of a one." I said with a smile.
"Really?" Jimmy asked. I nodded.
"Yup. She's very creative." I said.
"Well that's wonderful. Now, my last question about Y/n, and keep in mind that she's watching right now: is she the one?" Jimmy asked. I smiled and nodded.
"Definitely. I love her more than anything in this world. Her and I have talked about our future together. We've talked about marriage and how many kids we want, and what we would name those kids and living together and things like that. I remember, when I told her that I would move to Massachusetts for her when we're ready to move in together, because I don't want to disrupt her schooling or the chances of her getting her dream job, she got emotional and thanked me and hugged me. I would do anything for her." I said.
"That's beautiful. I know that you guys are young, but it's so obvious that you guys are so in love with each other. Alright, let's move onto your music." Jimmy said. I was sad that we weren't going to talk about Y/n anymore, but at least Y/n said yes to coming on stage with me.
And what song did I bring her on stage for so her and I could dance to it? Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran.
