My husband of a little over one year, Shawn Mendes is a singer and songwriter. He's taking a break from music so he can focus on married life, and for when we have kids, he wants to focus on them too. Him and I have been trying to get pregnant for a little over a month and I noticed that I've been getting sick in the mornings.

"Hey darling?" Shawn asked as he walked into the living room.

"Yes honey?" I asked as he sat next to me.

"I'm going to go hang out at my friend's house for a bit. I'll be back later and then maybe we can make love?" Shawn asked. I smiled and nodded.

"Yeah. I love you handsome." I said.

"I love you too gorgeous. Give me a kiss Mrs. Mendes." Shawn said.

"With pleasure Mr. Mendes." I said. Shawn leaned in and put his lips on mine. I felt butterflies erupt and fly around in my tummy, I felt sparks shoot through me like fireworks, and I felt my heart race as if I had just run a marathon. Soon, Shawn and I were out of breath from our passionate kiss, and we pulled away and smiled at each other.

"You mean the world to me. I hope that you know that." Shawn said. I put my hand to his cheek and rubbed it with my thumb. He closed his eyes and leaned into my touch, wanting more.

"You mean the world to me too." I said with a smile. Shawn's phone rang and he answered it.

"Hey. Yeah I'll be there in a bit, I just had to give my gorgeous wife a hug and kiss goodbye. Shut up dude, I'm in love. Bye." Shawn said and then hung up. Shawn gave me one more kiss before he stood up.

"I like that you're in love with me." I said as I stood up too. Shawn smiled.

"Yeah?" He asked. I nodded.

"Yeah." I said.

"Well are you in love with me too?" Shawn asked with a smirk since he already knew the answer.

"Yes! Of course yes!" I said and Shawn chuckled.

"One more kiss and then I'll go." He said.

"Whenever you say one more kiss it always leads to about five more." I said as I stepped closer to my amazing husband.

"What can I say? I'm addicted to your kisses. Plus, sometimes those kisses lead to more than just kisses." Shawn said as he reached down and pinched my butt, causing me to giggle as he kissed me again. We pulled away.

"You should get going. I'll see you later honey." I said. He nodded as he opened the door that lead to the garage.

"Sex later?" He asked. I laughed and nodded. He then left and I ran to the bathroom to get sick. Could I be pregnant? I waited a little bit, and then went upstairs and got my oversized Jackie Kennedy Onassis type of sunglasses so people wouldn't recognize me.

I went to a local store and got three pregnancy tests. I kept the sunglasses on the whole time, hoping that no fans would recognize me. I then bought the pregnancy tests, went home, and took them. I paced around the room as I waited, and when I went to check them, the tests were all positive. Happy tears fell onto my cheeks as I smiled. Shawn and I were pregnant. Okay, next, I needed to find a way to tell him. I pulled my phone out and texted Shawn.

Me: Hey handsome, I have to run an errand, so if you get home and I'm not there, it's because I'm out. I love you!

My Hubby: Okay baby. I don't know what you're doing but have fun! I love you too.

I put my phone back in my purse, I had put the pregnancy tests in a ziplock bag and then hid them, and then I went back out to my car. I drove to the local Barnes and Noble and went straight for the little kids section. I pushed the sunglasses back onto my head and looked around.

"Do you need help ma'am?" An employee asked me. I smiled and nodded.

"I'm looking for a few specific books, but I'm mainly just looking for books to read to a baby or a toddler." I said. The woman, Ashley, nodded.

"Okay. What specific books are you looking for?" She asked. I pulled the small list out of my purse and handed it to her.

"These ones." I said. She nodded and led me to a certain part of the kids section.

"They should be in here. Yup, I see one. All of the baby and toddler books should be over here. Let me know if you need anymore help!" She said. I smiled at her.

"Okay, I will. Thank you." I said.

"You're welcome." She said and walked out. I picked out the first book I had ever learned to read - Goodnight Moon - and some others that I read, or someone read to me, as a child. I ended up getting about twenty books. I didn't care about the price, I just wanted mine and Shawn's baby to have enough books - and I wanted a way to tell Shawn. I went up to the cashier to pay.

"Lots of baby books. Do you know anyone that's expecting?" She asked. I smiled and nodded.

"Yes." I said. She nodded and the books were put into about three bags. I thanked her and when I got home, Shawn was sitting on the couch. He smiled at me and I felt butterflies erupt in my tummy at the mere sight of his pearly whites.

"Hey darling. Looks like you went to your version of the candy store." Shawn said as he pointed at the bags. I smiled and nodded as I took my shoes off.

"Yup, I did." I said.

"Let me see what you got babe." He said.

"I'll show you in a second honey, I'll be right back." I said before running upstairs. I got the positive pregnancy sticks, put them in one of the bags, and then went back downstairs and sat with Shawn.

"So what did you get babe?" Shawn said as he kissed my cheek.

"Wait, I want a kiss on the lips." I said with a giggle. Shawn chuckled and put his lips on mine. This will be our last kiss before our lives change forever. I pulled away and smiled at him. "So, let me show you what I got at Barnes and Noble." I said. Shawn nodded. I've always loved how he's so interested to know what I'm reading. He's constantly asking me to read to him, whether it's in person or over Facetime while he's on tour. When he first asked me to read to him, I was shocked because no one had ever wanted me to read to them before.

I saved the bag that had the pregnancy sticks in it for last, and gave him another bag. The first book that he pulled out was Goodnight Moon and he smiled. He then pulled out If You Give A Mouse A Cookie, followed by Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and some others. I wasn't sure if he was catching my drift. He then looked at the second bag that I gave him, and when he pulled out Jimmy Fallon's book, Your Baby's First Word Will Be DADA, his eyes widened and he looked at me.

"Wait, are you, is there, are you pregnant?" Shawn asked. I smiled and reached into the third bag and pulled out the pregnancy tests and handed them to him.

"Look." I said. His eyes widened even more as tears formed in his eyes.

"Are these all positive?" He asked and I nodded.

"Yeah. I'm pregnant Shawn. You're going to be a Daddy." I said as tears formed in my eyes too. Shawn smiled at me and gently pulled me in for a hug.

"Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh this is amazing. When did you find out?" Shawn asked as he pulled away from the hug a little, a huge smile still on his face.

"Well I had noticed that my period was late and that I had been getting sick in the morning, so a little bit after you left, I went out and got some pregnancy tests. Remember earlier when I texted you saying that I was going out to do an errand?" I asked as I wiped some of Shawn's happy tears away.

"Yeah." He said.

"That was when I went to get the books. By the time that I sent you that, I had already taken the tests and I already knew that I had become pregnant. I take it from the smile on your face that you're happy?" I asked.

"Oh honey I don't know if I've ever been this happy before. When I think about the best days of my life, all of them have to do with you. I love you so much honey, oh my gosh. Our baby is in your belly." He said and I nodded.

"Yup. I love you too my love. So much. You're great to be an amazing Daddy." I said. Shawn gave me a kiss before pulling away and smiling at me.

"Thank you darling. You're going to be an amazing Mommy. Come here." He said as he gently pulled me closer to him.

"Wait, you have to look at the rest of the books!" I said. Shawn chuckled and nodded.

"Okay darling." He said as I handed him the other bag.

"I figure that we can read these to our little one." I said. Shawn smiled and nodded.

"Yup. What gender do you think our baby will be?" Shawn asked as he finished looking at the books.

"I don't know. I hope we have a girl. What about you? What gender do you think we're going to have?" I asked.

"It's going to be a girl. I can feel it." Shawn said and I giggled and nodded as I leaned on him.

"Whatever you say honey. I love you Mr. Mendes." I said. Shawn kissed the top of my head as I rested my head on his chest.

"I love you too Mrs. Mendes." Shawn said. About eight months later, Rose Lucille Mendes was born. I love Shawn, and our daughter, so much.
