I've been dating the singer and songwriter Shawn Mendes for six months now, and we just went public earlier today. Soon after we went public, some of our friends texted us, asking if it was okay if they could post pictures and videos of us that they had, and Shawn and I said yes. The first person to post was Brian Craigen, Shawn's childhood best friend. He posted a picture of me sitting in between him and Shawn, but one of Shawn's arms was around my shoulders. Shawn and I were talking to someone, and Brian was looking at the camera. I read the caption.

"I'm constantly third wheeling with these two. Not to get all mushy and stuff, but I'm really happy that Shawn found Y/n. They make each other really happy and it's great to see my bro so happy." He wrote. Cez Darke, Shawn's tour manager, posted a picture of Shawn and I that I don't remember him taking. In the picture, my arms were wrapped around Shawn's torso, and his arms were wrapped around my shoulders as we rested our foreheads together. I read the caption.

"I took this picture when some of Shawn's team and I met Y/n last month. Honestly, they balance each other out well. Where Y/n can be impatient, Shawn is patient, which helps Y/n. Where Shawn is outgoing and not at all shy, Y/n is shy and quiet when you first meet her. When we asked her about the fact that Shawn said that she wants to be a school counselor, she started telling us about that dream and then stopped. Her face was red and she looked at us and apologized for rambling, but she wasn't. When she said that it's going to be a lot of work, Shawn immediately said 'You got this babe. You can do all of that, I believe in you. I'll be right beside you every step of the way.' which made Y/n happy. I love these two!!!" Cez wrote.

"I love Cez's post." Shawn said. I nodded and smiled.

"Me too." I said. Aaliyah posted a few pictures, both from just last week. One of them was Shawn and I in the pool, my legs wrapped around his waist as we smiled at the camera. The other picture was after we had dried off. Shawn stood in between Aaliyah and I, and he had his arms around both of us. The third picture was Aaliyah and I hugging as we smiled at the camera. I read the caption.

"Picture one - the lovebirds in the pool. Shawn insisted that someone take a picture of them in the pool, saying 'I need a pool picture with my girl!'

"Picture two - Y/n and I with our favorite guy.

"Picture three - sista sista! Love you Y/n!" Aaliyah captioned it. I liked it and then commented on it.

"I love these pics so much! Love you long time sista sista." I commented.

"I love the relationship that you have with my sister so much." Shawn said. I smiled. Livia Tsang, Shawn's tattoo artist posted two pictures of Shawn and I. One of them was from the middle of May, when I got my first tattoo, and Shawn sat right beside me, and the second picture was from the end of May, when I got my second tattoo as Shawn sat beside me again, but in the picture, his hands were up as if he were surrendering, and Livia had stopped tattooing just to look at him as he spoke. I remembered what he was saying when that picture was taken. I read the caption.

"Sooo since they're finally public I can finally share these! The first pic was taken in the middle of May, and it was Y/n's first tattoo. She was very nervous, so Shawn sat there and held her hand and talked to her throughout the whole thing. The second picture is beautiful because it was during Y/n's second tattoo, and Y/n had asked Shawn if they could go to Panera afterwards. Shawn put his hands up and said 'Whatever you want babe. This is your world, I'm just living in it.' and I literally stopped tattooing Y/n for a minute because it was so cute. Y/n blushed and smiled when Shawn said that. Shawn and Y/n, I love you guys! Y/n, when are you going to come see me for the In My Blood tattoo in Shawn's handwriting???" Livia captioned it. I liked the post and commented on it.

"We love you too! I'm not sure when I'm going to get it, but I definitely want it. As of right now, I left Massachusetts to visit Shawn with no tattoos, and in August I'll be going back home with two, lol. But I think that I want to slow down on the tats for now, but I definitely want to get the IMB tattoo by the end of the year!" I commented.

My former neighbor, Liz, texted me a video from my twenty first birthday party, and asked if she could post it. I showed it to Shawn, and he smiled and said yes. I told Liz that she could post it, and soon enough she did. I smiled as I watched the video again. Shawn and I were standing on my neighbor's back deck. A birthday cake was nearby as Shawn looked at everyone that was there - Johnny, Kristen, Liz, and Tommy, and then at me.

"Guys, twenty one years ago today, on (your birthdate) at (hospital you were born at), at (time you were born at), weighing (your birth weight), the love of my life, my soulmate, my everything, was born. Y/n Y/m/n Y/l/n, I am so beyond grateful for you. Now that you're in my life, I can't and I won't imagine life without you. You make me happier than I ever knew was possible, and I love you more than words will ever be able to express. I love you so much sweetheart, happy birthday." Shawn said before our friends cheered as we kissed. I read the caption.

"Throwback to Y/n's twenty first birthday party - before things got wild - when Shawn made this beautiful speech! As someone who has known Y/n her whole life, I can confidently say that Shawn is absolutely perfect for her. They balance each other and they make each other REALLY happy! Ever since she met Shawn, Y/n has been so much happier, and I'm not the only one that's noticed. Mine and Y/n's friends have noticed it too! Love you Shawn and Y/n!" Liz wrote. Kristen, Johnny's wife, posted a video from my twenty first birthday party. At first it just showed Shawn, but then Shawn walked over to me.

"Okay Shawn, what are we doing?" Kristen asked.

"Y/n is a bit cranky right now, so we're going to give her some of this cake to get her to not be so cranky." Shawn said.

"Okay." Kristen said as they began to walk over to me. Kristen walked ahead and videotaped Shawn sitting next to me and holding out a bite of cake for me as I looked at Johnny.

"I'm not being cranky!" I said.

"Babe." Shawn said. I turned and saw that he had food. My eyes went wide as I smiled.

"FOOD!" I yelled before taking a bite. Shawn threw his head back with laughter, and as soon as I began chewing, I started dancing in my seat a little bit. The video ended.

"Now that they're public, I can finally post one of the funniest videos from Y/n's twenty first birthday party. Y/n, Shawn, which video was funnier, this one, the one of Shawn and Johnny rapping along to Pretty Boy Swag, the video of Shawn and Johnny dancing to Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae), or the one of you guys and Johnny dancing to You're A Jerk?" Kristen captioned it. Shawn commented on the post.

"LOL. This one is the funniest, definitely." He wrote.

"This one is pretty funny but the Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae) is HILARIOUS!" I commented.

Johnny posted a few pictures and videos. The first part of the post was a video of Shawn sitting at the piano at Johnny's house. Johnny had videotaped who was in the room - his parents, Tommy, Liz, and Kristen - before aiming the camera at Shawn and I. I looked at Shawn's face and smiled at him as he played Hallelujah by Rufus Wainwright. The next part of the post was a picture of me being squished in between Johnny and Shawn. Next was a video of Shawn singing Galway Girl to me, and I laughed when he changed the lyrics to fit us more.

"She played the fiddle in an Irish band / But she fell in love with an Canadian man / Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand / Said, "Baby, I just wanna dance" / I meet her on Longwood Ave right inside of Dunkin Donuts / She shared a cigarette with me while her brother played the guitar / She asked me, "What does it mean, the Gaelic ink on your arm?" / Said, "It was one of my friend's songs, do you want to drink on?" / She took Jamie as a chaser, Jack for the fun She got Arthur on the table with Johnny riding as a shotgun / Chatted some more, one more drink at the bar / Then put Van on the jukebox, got up to dance / You know, she played the fiddle in an Irish band / But she fell in love with an Canadian man / Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand / Said, "Baby, I just wanna dance" / With my pretty little Boston girl / You're my pretty little Boston girl" He sang.

The next part of the post a video of Johnny and I teaching Shawn some Boston slang.

"So you're telling me that if I want to tell another Bostonian that I have to make a U-turn, I say that I have to bang a U-ey?" Shawn asked. Johnny and I nodded.

"Yup." We said.

"And a bubbler is just a water fountain?" Shawn asked. We nodded.

"Yup." We said.

"And wicked means, really, and pissah means cool, so if someone says that something is wicked pissah, it's really cool?" Shawn asked.

"Yup." Johnny said. I nodded.

"Yeah. So you're music is wicked pissah." I said and Shawn laughed as he gently pulled me into his lap.

I then read the caption that Johnny had written.

"These two are dating, which is pretty cool, because they're wicked pissah. The day that I met Shawn, it was the day after him and Y/n started dating, and since Y/n is basically my little sister and I've known her since she was in the womb, I took it upon myself to embarrass the CRAP out of Y/n. She was mad at me, but then Shawn got out of the car and we traded numbers and now we're buddies. Shawn, my man, when are you coming back so we can get WILD and drunk out of our minds again? I promise to let you and Y/n crash on my couch again! By the way Y/n, we miss you!" Johnny captioned it. I liked the post and commented.

"LMAO THIS IS GREAT. I miss you guys too! Still can't believe that on THE SECOND DAY OF DATING you told Shawn how big my crush on him has been for so long!!! You're crazy but I love ya." I commented. Shawn commented on it too.

"LOL! Let's get wild soon dude!" Shawn commented. Josiah Van Dien, Shawn's tour photographer, posted a couple of pictures from the month before. In one of the pictures, Shawn and I were smiling at each other as I sat on his lap. In the next picture, my smile was huge as he held me close to him and kissed my cheek. I read the caption.

"I love these two so much! There's so much love between them and it's so beautiful!" Josiah captioned it. Connor Brashier posted a little clip of me laughing hysterically as Shawn kissed all over my face.

"They're disgustingly cute, but here's a video of Shawn kissing all over Y/n's face while she laughs because they really are goals." Connor wrote. Some of our other friends made posts and it was beautiful. I love Shawn, and our friends, so much.
