111. Your Vows To Each Other
A/n: So I know that this one is a bit personalized, but I wasn't sure of what else to write. Anyways, please enjoy this imagine. Okay, without further ado, let's begin!
I stood there, in my white, floral, wedding dress. I looped my arm through my brother's. He would be walking me down the aisle. Today, I'm marrying my best friend, the singer and songwriter Shawn Mendes.
"Ready?" Thomas, my brother, asked. I nodded as I took a deep breath.
"Yeah." I said. Suddenly, the instrumental to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri began to play, and the doors opened. Thomas began to walk me down the aisle, and I locked eyes with Shawn. He smiled and his hand went to his mouth when he saw me. I could tell that he was getting emotional. As we kept our eyes locked with one another, it was like everything else and everyone else faded away. I soon reached Shawn, and after giving my brother a hug, and giving my bouquet to my maid of honor, Grace, I turned to Shawn and held his hands in mine. He had tears in his eyes.
"Wow. Beautiful." Shawn mouthed. I smiled and blushed as I squeezed his hands. He squeezed back. Soon, it was time to say our vows.
"Shawn, you can go first." Our officiator said. Shawn let go of my hands and pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket and began to read from it. I smiled at him.
"Y/n Y/m/n almost Mendes, I can't believe it. Today is the day that we become one. We become husband and wife, which is what we will be for the rest of our lives, and even after that, we'll still be together as husband and wife. I remember the day that I met you very vividly. I fell for your beautiful y/e/c eyes before anything else. I remember when I laid eyes on you for the first time, knowing that you would become my wife someday, and here we are.
"Y/n, not only, excuse me," Shawn said as he got emotional. He cleared his throat and began talking again. "Not only are you my significant other, but you are also my best friend, my soulmate, my rock, my protector, my happiness, my everything.
"I remember when you met my parents and sister for the first time. You were so nervous on the way there that you couldn't stop bouncing your foot. But you instantly clicked with my family, which made me even happier. I love your relationship with my family and friends. It's truly a beautiful sight to see. You are truly a beautiful sight to see. Before I met you, it was like life was in black and white. But after we met, everything turned to color. You make me the happiest man alive.
"I promise to always be there for you no matter what. I promise to offer you my shoulder when you need to cry. I promise to listen to every word that you say. I promise to always try my hardest to make you laugh, or at least smile, when you're down. I promise to always make sure that we have bottles of Sunny D and Kiwi Strawberry flavored Snapple in the house because I know how much you love them. I promise to listen to every and any story about President Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, or any Kennedy, that you want to tell me. I promise to always watch Supernatural and Bobby Kennedy for President with you, no matter how many times we've watched it. My love, I will promise you the moon if that's what you wanted. I'll promise you anything. I can't wait to start this new chapter of our lives together. I love you." Shawn said. I smiled and wiped away some tears.
"Y/n, you're turn." The officiator said. I turned around a little and my maid of honor gave me the piece of paper. I smiled at Shawn and then looked at the vows that I had written.
"Shawn Peter Raul Mendes," I started before tears welled up in my eyes. I looked at our guests. "I thought that I would last longer than this!" I said and everyone laughed. I looked at Shawn who was smiling at me.
"You got this babe." Shawn said. I nodded at him and then looked at my piece of paper as I wiped away some happy tears.
"My sweet love, we have waited for this day for so long, and here we are, about to become husband and wife forever. I'll never forget being in Ms. Regan's world history class, my freshman year of high school. Lexie, who sat behind me, tapped me on the shoulder, so I turned around. 'Have you ever heard of Vine?' she asked. I said yes. 'Have you ever heard of MAGCON?' she asked. I said no. She began to show me pictures of everyone, and when she got to a picture of you, I said 'Wow, he's cute!'. The next day, I went back to school and when I saw Lexie, I said 'I watched so many of their vines when I got home!' and I then proceeded to tell her that I wanted to marry you. If someone had told me that about five years later, I would start dating you, and that five years after that, we would be standing here, I would have laughed in disbelief and told them that they were crazy.
"From the moment that I laid eyes on you in that Dunkin Donuts on August sixteenth, 2019, I knew that you were, and still are, the one for me. Since that day we have conquered struggles and distance together. We have gone from being two people who were almost completely strangers - I say almost because I knew about you since I was, and still am, a big fan of yours at the time - to two people who live together, are getting married, and have their whole future planned out together.
"I know that things aren't always going to be easy, but what I do know is that with you by my side, everything will be okay. You've made me believe in so many things and you've made me want to be the best version of myself for you. You make me happier than I've ever been in my whole life, and I can't thank you enough for that. You lift me up when I'm down. You make me smile and laugh when I feel like I can do anything but smile and laugh. You have the kindest heart and the sweetest soul that I have ever known.
"Shawn, you're my best friend, my soulmate, my protector, my rock, my everything. You have my whole heart and my whole soul. You accept me and love me for who I am, and for that I am forever grateful. I'm the most myself when I'm with you. Like I said earlier, we've been waiting so long for this day, and it's finally here. I know that being your wife will be the greatest honor that I will ever receive. I love you so, so, so much Shawn." I said. He smiled at me and wiped away some of his tears.
"By the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Shawn, you may kiss your bride." Our officiator said. I smiled and Shawn immediately pulled me close to him. My arms went around his shoulders as his arms went around my waist. I felt my heart race as if I had just run a marathon, I felt butterflies erupt and fly around like crazy in my tummy, and I felt sparks shoot through me like fireworks. I couldn't stop smiling, so I pulled away from the kiss. Shawn was smiling at me.
"Oh my gosh." I said. He chuckled and then gave me another kiss. We walked back down the aisle as husband and wife. It was the best day of our lives, and I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together.
