187. Drunk Phone Calls
A/n: Explicit language in this one. Also, let's pretend that it's October 29, shall we?Anyways, please enjoy this imagine. Okay, without further ado, let's begin!
Me: I'm going over to Johnny's house babe. I love you lots!
Shawny baby: Okay darling, I'm going into my q and a session. I love you lots too!
I put my phone in my purse and drove to my former next door neighbor's house. Johnny has always been like a big brother to me and I love him a lot. When he met my now fiancé, the singer and songwriter Shawn Mendes, Johnny told him how big of a crush I have on him, and I was so embarrassed. I rang the doorbell, and Johnny soon answered the door.
"Hey Y/n, come on in." He said as he let me in. I gave him a hug, just like always. His hugs remind me of the same ones that his brother Jake would give me. Oh Jake...
"How are you?" I asked.
"Good, how are you?" He asked as he we went to sit and the island in the kitchen. I sighed.
"I just want to forget." I said.
"Forget what?" He asked.
"Forget that Shawn's away on tour." I said. He nodded, stood up, and got a Coors Light out of his fridge.
"Here, this will help you forget." Johnny said.
"You know that I'm not a big drinker, plus I have to drive later." I said as I pushed the beer away.
"Sleep in Jake's old room tonight." He said. I sighed and opened up the beer. I practically chugged it down.
"Can I have another one please?" I asked. His eyes went wide.
"Are you sure?" He asked and I nodded. Soon, I had downed five bottle of Coors Lights and taken five shots of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey. Johnny and I went into the living room.
"Where's my husband?" I asked as I looked at my ring. I don't usually drink, so I'm a lightweight, and I was drunk off my ass. Johnny gave me a confused look.
"You're not married." He said. I lifted up my hand to show him my ring.
"Yes I am, see, I have the ring to prove it." I said.
"Yeah, that's an engagement ring. You're engaged to Shawn Mendes, you're not married to him." Johnny said.
"I want to call Shawn." I said as I reached for my phone.
"Didn't you say that he's in a q and a?" Johnny asked. I nodded.
"Yeah but I want to ask him a question." I slurred as I called him. He soon picked up.
"Hey baby girl." He said.
"Shawnyyyy." I slurred. He chuckled.
"Hi. What's up babe? Is everything okay?" Shawn asked.
"Are you my husband?" I asked.
"No, not yet. But I will be on May twenty fifth, 2024." Shawn said.
"Oh. I want you to be my husband. Hubby. Hubsta. You're a hunk." I said and Shawn laughed.
"Thank you. How much have you had to drink?" Shawn asked.
"Uhhh, five Coors Lights and five shots of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey." I said.
"Okay babe, no more alcohol for the rest of the night and I don't want you driving." Shawn said.
"Awww Shawny's looking out for me." I said and Shawn chuckled.
"Yup, and I always will. Is Johnny nearby?" Shawn asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"Can I talk to him please?" Shawn asked.
"Oh but I'm having so much fun talking to you!" I said.
"I know you are, and this is entertaining, but I want to talk to Johnny." Shawn said.
"Okay. Will we talk afterwards?" I asked.
"Yes, but only for a little bit." Shawn said.
"Okay. Heeere's Johnny." I said, imitating that movie line, causing Shawn and Johnny to laugh as I handed Johnny the phone. Johnny put him on speaker so I could hear him.
"Hey Shawn." Johnny said.
"Dude, why did you give her so much alcohol?" Shawn asked.
"She said that she wanted to forget." Johnny said.
"Forget what?" Shawn asked. Johnny sighed.
"She said that she wanted to forget the fact that you're away on tour. She said that when she was sober." Johnny said. Shawn sighed.
"Okay. Please keep an eye on her. I don't want her driving, so is there any way that she could spend the night at your house please?" Shawn asked.
"Yeah, she can sleep in Jake's old bedroom." Johnny said.
"Jake..." I whispered but Johnny didn't hear me.
"Okay. She's going to have a nasty hangover in the morning. If you guys have aleve, that should help her, and she's probably going to be puking her guts up." Shawn said.
"Dude, have you forgotten who you're talking to? I used to get trashed all the time when I was still in college." Johnny said. Shawn laughed.
"Okay, good point. Can I talk to her again please?" Shawn asked.
"Sure." Johnny said and handed the phone back over to me. I took him off speaker.
"Babyyyy when will you be home?" I asked.
"Soon honey, I promise." Shawn said.
"How soon is soon?" I asked as I began walking around the living room.
"Eleven days." Shawn said.
"Soon, soon, soon. You always say soon and then it's actually like a month and a half or two months." I slurred.
"I know honey, but this time it's just eleven more days until I'm home." Shawn said.
"Okay. I love youuuuuu." I said. Shawn chuckled.
"I love you too. Go take a nap or something, okay darling?" Shawn asked.
"Okay. Bye." I said.
"Bye." He said, and we hung up. I went and sat down on the couch again.
"So where did you say I'm sleeping tonight?" I asked.
"Jake's old bedroom." He said. I thought for a moment.
"Jake... I remember him." I said as I spotted a photo of Jake's handsome and smiling face on the mantle. Johnny laughed.
"I would hope so considering the fact that you lived next door to him for the first thirteen years of your life." Johnny said.
"He game me extra candy on Halloween one year. I had already gotten candy from him but I went back with some people. Liz and her siblings. My mom told him not to give me anymore candy, but he did anyways, and he had a mischievous grin on his face." I said, still looking at the picture.
"I remember you telling me this story." Johnny said.
"And then, there was that time that he pretended to be a doctor to a coconut. You were there, popping wheelies in your grandmother's wheelchair." I said with a smile.
"Yup." Johnny said. My smile faded.
"Then, there was that day..." I said.
"Y/n you don't have to talk about that day." Johnny said. I looked at him.
"It's been almost ten years and I don't think that I've ever told you that story." I said.
"No, you haven't." Johnny said. I began to cry a little as I told him everything that I could remember about the day of Jake's sudden and tragic death.
"It's been almost ten years and that day is still burned into my head. And then when I saw your dad for the first time after Jake died, I told him I loved him as I hugged him but he didn't say anything back. My dad said that it looked like he was trying his hardest not to cry. I miss Jake." I said as I cried.
"I know you do. We all do." Johnny said. I looked out at the back deck as I willed myself to stop crying.
"I want to go outside." I said as I got up.
"I'll come with you." Johnny said as he got up too.
"I'm a big girl, I can handle this." I said.
"You're drunk and Shawn wants me to keep an eye on you." Johnny said. I shrugged.
"Okay. Oh! Dave!" I said as I saw Johnny's dad sitting with Johnny's mom at their mini fish pond. Dave turned around and smiled at me.
"Hi Y/n, how are you?" Dave asked.
"Johnny gave me some drinks, so I'm going to sleep over because we called Shawn, and he said that he doesn't want me driving." I said as I hugged Dave, who laughed as he hugged back.
"Okay. How much did you have to drink?" Dave asked.
"Oh Dave, did you know that you're like my second dad? You're always there for me. Remember when I was little and you would pop out the screen in your window to give me lollipops?" I asked. He nodded as he smiled.
"Yup, I do remember that. Johnny, how much did she have to drink?" Dave asked his only surviving son.
"Five Coors Lights and five shots of Fireball so Shawn said to not give her anymore, she's already going to have a nasty hangover, and he asked if she could sleep over since he doesn't want her behind the wheel." Johnny said. I sat down next to Anne, Dave's wife.
"I don't want to go home." I said. Everyone looked at me.
"Well you're not going home tonight, but why don't you want to go home?" Anne asked. I sighed as tears formed in my eyes.
"Because I get so lonely." I said. I didn't know until later that it was at that moment that Johnny started filming for Shawn - but he didn't show Shawn, nor did he show me, the video, until Shawn was home.
"You miss Shawn a lot, don't you?" Dave asked. I nodded as tears fell onto my cheeks.
"Yeah. I get so lonely and the bed gets so cold without him. When he's home and we fall asleep together, he holds me, and I'm safe and warm again. But I have to go for a long amount of time in a cold and lonely bed. That's why I sleep over my mom's house a lot when Shawn's away. Because it's a smaller bed so I don't have to worry about looking at an empty side of the bed, and the bed doesn't get so cold. But then I go home and when Shawn calls, I don't tell him how sad I am. I just tell him that I love him and miss him. But I've never told him just how much I miss him when he's away." I said.
"But when he gets home, I've heard you tell him that you missed him so much." Johnny said.
"Yes, but so much doesn't even begin to explain how much I miss him when he's on tour. But we make the distance work and I love him." I said with a smile. They nodded.
"Do you want to go lay down?" Anne asked. I nodded and Johnny walked me upstairs. The next morning I woke up with a pounding headache. I was confused as to where I was, but once I remembered, I ran to the bathroom and puked my guts up. I then went downstairs, where Johnny, Dave, and Anne were sitting in the kitchen.
"Good morning sleepy head. It's noon." Johnny said.
"Oh shhh, don't talk so loudly please. How much did I have to drink last night?" I asked and they told me.
"Shawn told me to have you check your texts when you get a chance." Johnny said. I nodded and checked the texts.
Me: You're a HUNK.
Me: I luv you.
Me: Lol, I spelled love wrong.
Shawny baby: Go to sleep darling.
Me: I want to kiss your handsome face.
Shawny baby: You can do that when I get home, my love.
Me: No, I want to do it nowwwww.
Shawny baby: I know honey, but you can't. Get some rest honey and I'll talk to you in the morning.
After a half an hour with no response from me, Shawn texted again.
Shawny baby: Sleep well my love. I love you more than you'll ever know.
"I should call him." I said. Everyone nodded and I stepped out of the room.
"Hi gorgeous." Shawn said.
"Hi. Oh my gosh I'm so hungover." I said. Shawn laughed.
"Yeah, you called me while you were drunk yesterday." Shawn said.
"Oh gosh. What did I say?" I asked and Shawn told me.
"But hey, at least I was the first person that you wanted to call when you were drunk." Shawn said and I nodded even though he couldn't see me.
"Yeah. That's probably because I love you a lot." I said.
"I love you a lot too. I have to go honey." Shawn said.
"Okay. Bye baby." I said.
"Bye." He said, and we hung up. I went back into the kitchen.
"Thank you guys for letting me spend the night." I said.
"No problem." They said. I stayed until my hangover went away and then I went home. I love Shawn so much, and I'm so grateful for Johnny.
