A/n: Since my family is thinking of take a trip to my home away from home, I decided to write this imagine! Anyways, please enjoy this imagine. One more thing: I know that I usually say that Y/n and Shawn's wedding date is on May 23, but I just realized that that's on a Thursday, so from now on it will be May 25. Okay, without further ado, let's begin!

I sat on my fiancé's lap as my mom, my brother, and my best friend visited us. My fiancé is the singer and songwriter, Shawn Mendes, and he's currently on a break from tour. He proposed to me last week when he took me to a sheep pasture nearby, and we've already told our families, our friends, and the world. Before we announced it to the world, there was a phone call that I had to make.

"Hello?" My grandmother asked.

"Hi Meimei, it's Y/n." I said.

"Oh hi sweetie! How are you?" She asked. I smiled.

"I'm wonderful. How are you?" I asked.

"I'm good, just taking care of your grandfather and going to work." She said. I smiled.

"I have something to tell you Meimei." I said.

"What is it honey?" She asked.

"You remember Shawn, right?" I asked.

"Of course! You talk about him all of the time and you seem to be so in love with him." She said, not realizing that I had her on speaker and that I was sitting next to Shawn, who was smiling.

"Well, him and I are no longer boyfriend and girlfriend." I said.

"Oh my gosh. What happened?" She asked.

"Well Meimei, he took me to a sheep pasture nearby, got down on one knee, asked me to marry him, and I said yes!" I said. She let out a squeal, causing me to laugh.

"Oh congratulations! That's wonderful! When do I get to meet him?" She asked.

"I don't know. Hopefully soon." I said. Her and I talked a bit more before hanging up.

"Babe? You with us?" Shawn asked as he brought me back to reality.

"What? Sorry, I was just thinking about when I told Meimei that Shawn and I got engaged." I said. Everyone smiled.

"You miss her and your grandpa, don't you?" Shawn asked. I nodded.

"Yeah. I haven't seen them in years." I said. Shawn nodded and then looked at everyone in the room as he held me close to him, his arms wrapped around my waist and my arms wrapped around his shoulders.

"What do you guys think of taking a day trip to Maine?" Shawn asked them and my jaw dropped.

"Really?" I asked. Shawn smiled at me and nodded.

"Yeah. Grace, do you want to come too?" Shawn asked.

"Oh no, I would feel like I was intruding." She said.

"No! You wouldn't be intruding. Come on, come with us." I said. She thought for a moment before nodding.

"Okay." She said and we all cheered, causing her to laugh.

"I'll call Meimei tomorrow and ask her when she's free." I said and everyone nodded.

"Okay baby girl." Shawn said. The next day I called Meimei, and she said that she was free this coming weekend and the next weekend, whichever one we preferred. I talked to Shawn and he said that we could go this weekend since he knows how badly I want to see my grandparents.

"Oh I can't wait to meet Shawn!" Meimei said. I smiled.

"Oh Meimei, he's wonderful and I love him so much. He treats me like I'm a queen and he spoils me and when I'm with him, oh my gosh, it's like a non stop laughing and smiling and kissing spree with my best friend." I said as I went back upstairs and into mine and Shawn's bedroom.

"Well my dear, it sounds like you're very in love." She said.

"Head over heels, madly, deeply, insanely, crazily in love. I can't believe that I get to spend the rest of my life with him. He really is my best friend and I don't know what I would do without him. I don't even want to think about that." I said.

"Well then we won't talk about it. I'll see you guys when you get here!" She said.

"Okay. I love you Meimei, and please give Grandpa my love too." I said.

"I will. We love you too." She said, and we hung up. I then went back downstairs, where Shawn had been sitting on the couch, but he wasn't there. I looked out and saw that he was on our back deck. I stepped out there and put my hand on his back. He jumped for a moment.

"Shhh handsome, it's just me." I said. He instinctively wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pulled me closer to him.

"Hi baby girl." He said.

"Hi. Are you okay?" I asked as I rubbed his back. He turned to me and pulled me closer to him.

"What if your grandparents don't like me?" He asked. I held his face in my hands and was glad that I could feel some stubble.

"Oh Shawny, my love, Meimei already loves you. You don't have to worry." I said.

"But what about your grandfather?" He asked as he took one of his hands and held my hand to his face. I know that he likes my touch, that it comforts him, so I gave him a soft smile.

"He can be opinionated at times, but he knows that you're a wonderful man and that you treat me right." I said. Shawn nodded and then pulled me in for a hug.

"It's just that, I'm going to be marrying their granddaughter, so I want to make a good impression." Shawn said. I nodded my head against his shoulder and then pulled away so I could smile at him.

"My love, you already have. Whenever Meimei and I talk over the phone, I talk about you. Do you want to know what she says?" I asked. He nodded.

"Yeah. What does she say?" Shawn asked before he kissed my cheek.

"She always points out how she can tell that I'm so in love with you. Honey, just be yourself in front of them, and they'll love you. Not as much as I do, but they'll love you." I said. Shawn nodded and smiled at me. He put his lips on mine and I felt my heart race as if I had just run a marathon, I felt butterflies erupt and fly around in my tummy, and I felt sparks shoot through me like fireworks. We soon pulled away, breathless from our passionate yet loving kiss.

"I love you so much honey. You're my whole world." Shawn said before burying his face in my neck. I smiled and ran my fingers through his hair.

"I love you so much too and you're my whole world too." I said. Shawn placed a gentle kiss on my neck.

Soon, the day came for our trip to Maine. Even though it was just going to be a day trip, Shawn and I packed towels for the beach and he asked me to bring my camera so we could take pictures. I also brought along my purse, knowing that we would go to Perkins Cove and that we would want to get souvenirs.

"Ready guys?" Shawn asked me, my mom, my brother Thomas, and my best friend Grace. We nodded and I jumped up and down.

"Yes! Come on let's go!" I said as I got in the passenger seat of Shawn's jeep, JBone. Everyone laughed and got in the car.

"I take it that you're excited Y/n?" Grace asked. I nodded.

"Yup. Thank you so much for this Shawn. I really appreciate it." I said as Shawn backed out of the driveway and turned on his GPS, which was set to go straight to Meimei and Grandpa's house.

"You're welcome darling." He said. He interlaced his fingers with mine, and as our skin touched, I felt electricity spark through me, yet I felt safe and warm at the same time. I kept kissing Shawn's hand and he kept kissing my hand, just like we always do.

"You guys are disgustingly cute." Grace said and we all laughed.

"That's because we're in love." Shawn said and I smiled at him.

"You should grow your beard out." I said. Shawn chuckled.

"Where did that come from babe?" Shawn asked as he kept his eyes on the road.

"Well the other day I was holding your face and I could feel your stubble and I liked it even though it tickled me a little. I've never seen you with a full on beard and I want to." I said.

"I'll grow it out eventually - just for you babe." Shawn said and I smiled.

"Thank you, you're the best." I said. He chuckled.

"Nope, that's you." He said and I smiled. Soon, after a drive that was close to two hours long, but felt shorter than that, we arrived at Meimei and Grandpa's house. They were waiting outside. I didn't even wait until the car was in park, I threw off my seat belt and ran out of the car.

"MEIMEI!" I yelled as I ran into her arms. She laughed and hugged me back.

"Hi honey." She said.

"Hi. Hi Grandpa!" I said.

"Hi there." He said. He started to walk towards me, which made me nervous because he has really bad legs.

"No, stay there, I'll come to you." I said as I walked over to him and hugged him.

"How are ya?" He asked.

"I'm good, how are you?" I asked.

"I'm good." He said. I smiled and then saw that my mom was hugging Meimei. After mom and Thomas hugged Meimei and Grandpa, introductions had to be made.

"Meimei, Grandpa, this is our best friend Grace." Thomas said. They didn't even shake her hand. Being the loving and welcoming people that they are, they hugged her. Meimei then turned towards Shawn.

"You must be Shawn." She said. He smiled and nodded.

"I am." He said.

"Well give me a hug! It's so nice to finally meet you." Meimei said as they hugged. He then shook Grandpa's hand.

"It's nice to finally meet you guys too. I know that Y/n has been really missing you guys, so I wanted to bring her to see you guys." Shawn said and they nodded. I then remembered something.

"Oh! I'll be right back!" I said as I ran to Shawn's jeep. I opened up the back and finally found what I was looking for: books for Meimei. I think that I get my love of reading from her, and there were some books that I had read that I wanted to give to her. I walked back over to her and she smiled.

"What's this?" She asked.

"Some books that I read that I thought that you might like." I said. She gave me a hug after she took them.

"Thank you so much." She said.

"You're welcome." I said as Shawn began to rub my shoulders.

"It was so cute, she would finish reading the book and then come running over to me, or call me if I was away, and say 'I just finished reading a great book and I want to give it to Meimei!' and she was just so excited." Shawn said and Meimei smiled. I know my grandmother. One time, my mom brought a boyfriend to visit Meimei, and when they were about to leave, Meimei told her to be careful about the boyfriend. It was only about a month later that my mom and the guy broke up. Needless to say, she has a good intuition.

"Well that's wonderful. Should we go to Perkins Cove?" Meimei asked.

"Yes!" I said and everyone laughed as I began to jump around.

"She's been so excited about going to Perkins Cove." Shawn said.

"Well I can't go with you guys, but I'll see ya when you get back." Grandpa said and we nodded.

"Okay, how are we going to do this? Not all of us are going to fit in one car." Mom asked and said.

"Well do you remember how to get there from here Y/m/n?" Meimei asked. My mom nodded.

"Yeah." She said.

"Okay. How about you, Thomas and Grace get in my car - Y/m/n I trust you to drive it - and then Shawn, Y/n and I can go in another? Is that okay with you guys?" Meimei asked and we all nodded.

"Yeah." We said. Shawn got in the driver's seat, I got in the passenger seat, and Meimei sat in the back, directing Shawn on where to go.

"So Shawn, you're a singer?" Meimei asked even though she already knew the answer.

"Yeah. That's actually how Y/n and I met. I had performed in Boston, and then the next day I went to a local Dunkin Donuts. I had never been there before, so I was going to ask the girl at the front of the line, who turned out to be Y/n, what I should get. When Y/n turned around... whoa. I fell for her right away, and I instantly knew that she was, and she still is, the one for me." Shawn said as I held his hand in my lap. I smiled at him.

"That's wonderful." Meimei said.

"And it was definitely love at first sight for me too. I had seen him in concert the night before, and so obviously I had seen pictures and videos of him, but when I saw him in person, I almost dropped my drink because I was in shock that he was right in front of me, and because I instantly fell for him. This is going to sound so cheesy, but when I saw him, it was as if my heart went 'Oh there you are, I've been looking for you.'" I said. Shawn kissed my hand.

"That's so beautiful! Shawn take this left and we'll just need to find parking." Meimei said. We soon found parking and got out of the car. I looked at Shawn and he smiled at me.

"Are you happy to be back here babe?" Shawn asked. I nodded.

"Yup. Can you smell that? That's the Atlantic ocean. And can you hear that? Those are seagulls. I'm home Shawn." I said and his smile widened.

"I'm glad. It's a nice day out." Shawn said as my mom, Thomas, and Grace caught up to us.

"Oh! I almost forgot my camera." I said as I went to the back of Shawn's car and grabbed it. I put the strap for it around my neck and interlaced my fingers with Shawn, who was smiling at me. I also had my wallet with me.

"You guys ready?" My mom asked and we nodded.

"Yeah. Wait, babe, go stand on those rocks and face me." I said. Shawn let go of my hand and did as told. I took some pictures of him.

"Will someone use her camera to take pictures of her and I please?" Shawn asked.

"Sure." Thomas said. I handed him my camera and went over to Shawn, who instantly wrapped an arm around my shoulders. I put one arm around his torso and I let the hand that has my engagement ring on it rest on his clothed abs. Thomas had us smile at the camera for one picture, for another Shawn was kissing my cheek, and for another Shawn and I kissed. We then walked around Perkins Cove. We decided that Thomas would be in charge of my camera for a little bit so he could take pictures of Shawn and I. We were walking when Shawn stopped short.

"Is this a jewelry store?" He asked as he pointed at a store that said "Sea Glass Jewelry Studio".

"Yes, but I don't want you spending money on me and I know that you're going to." I said. Shawn chuckled and cupped my face in his hands.

"Darling, we're on vacation and you're my girl. Let me get you something." He said as he smiled at me and everyone watched.

"You're going to get me something even if I say no, aren't you?" I asked. He laughed and nodded.

"Yup. I have to treat my fiancé. We'll be back." Shawn said to the group. I noticed that Meimei was smiling widely, and I could tell that he had made a good impression. We walked in the store. "What do you want baby?"

"I don't know. Shawn I don't want you spending money on me. You're already doing enough just by driving us up here and back." I said.

"Look around and let me know what you like, just don't look at the price tag. I don't mind doing this honey." Shawn said. I nodded and looked around. I soon saw a necklace that I liked, but Shawn's already gotten me so many necklaces that I decided against it. I saw some pretty rings but I couldn't decide which one I liked best. I looked around the store and soon spotted Shawn.

"Babe." I said. Shawn smiled at me, causing butterflies to fly around in my tummy as he walked over to me and put his arm around my waist.

"See something that you like?" He asked. I wrapped an arm around him too and rested my head on his chest.

"Well I was thinking of getting a necklace, but you've already gotten me so many of those. I like some of these rings but I can't decide which one that I like best." I said. Shawn rubbed my sides a little. We heard the door chime and I turned around to see mom and Meimei walking in. They smiled at us.

"You guys were taking a bit so we wanted to check on you." Mom said and I smiled.

"I'm trying to figure out which ring I like the most." I said as I turned back to the rings. Meimei and mom came over to look at them.

"What about this one honey?" Shawn asked as he pointed at one that I hadn't seen before.

"It's pretty. Hey, I think that we passed by a place called Kiki's, do you want to go there?" I asked, thinking about that Drake song. Shawn nodded.

"Whatever you want babe. This is your world, I'm just living in it. Lead the way." Shawn said. I smiled and we left the store and headed to Kiki's.

"Shawn look they have jewelry!" I said. Everyone was waiting outside, trying to figure out what restaurant we should go to. Shawn smiled.

"Yeah. What do you like in here honey?" Shawn said as he held my hand and we looked around.

"I don't know. I feel like this necklace is too big and bulky, don't you think?" I asked. Shawn looked at it and nodded.

"Yeah. I can't picture you wearing that honestly." He said. I felt bad. I turned to him and he looked at me.

"I'm sorry." I said. He frowned.

"What are you apologizing for babe?" Shawn asked.

"Because I'm taking so long." I said. Shawn shook his head.

"It's fine honey. Take as much time as you need. Baby girl, as long as I get to be with you, I'm happy." He said. I felt relieved and I smiled before turning back to the jewelry.

"Oh! What about these earrings? Oh but wait, I also like this ring. I don't know which one I want more." I said. Shawn laughed and then asked for someone behind the counter to come over.

"How can I help you sir?" He asked.

"What size ring is this?" Shawn asked and the guy told us. Shawn nodded. "Okay. Can I get that ring, and those earrings please?"

"Sure. I can ring you up right over here." The guy said. I looked at Shawn.

"You didn't have to get me both." I said. Shawn kissed my forehead.

"I have to keep my soon to be wife happy, don't I?" He asked. I nodded.

"Yeah." I said.

"Stay here while I pay babe." Shawn said.

"Okay." I said and waited for him. I felt bad. Shawn soon came back and held my hand as we stepped out.

"You guys took forever!" Thomas said when he saw us, and I could see Shawn shaking his head out of the corner of my eye. I turned away from everyone, put my head in my hands and began to cry. I felt someone put their hand on my back, but I didn't look up.

"What's wrong darling?" Shawn asked. I looked at him and saw the concern in his eyes.

"We took so long in there and then you spent money on me. I know that you have the money for it and that you like to spoil me, but I hate it when you spend money on me." I said as Shawn began to wipe my tears away.

"Oh honey, it's okay that we took our time looking for what you wanted. It's better to take longer and get the right thing than to rush and get the wrong thing, right?" Shawn asked. I nodded and slowly began to stop crying.

"Right." I said. He kissed my forehead.

"See? Everything's fine. Can I put the ring on you please?" Shawn asked. I nodded.

"Yeah. Sorry that I'm crying in public." I said. Shawn shook his head as he got the ring out.

"It's fine baby. You know, the last time I was putting a ring on you, it was your engagement ring." Shawn said with a smile and I smiled too.

"Yeah." I said as I finished wiping my tears away.

"Which finger babe?" Shawn asked. I looked at my hands.

"This one." I said as I wiggled my middle finger on my right hand. Shawn put it on me and then whispered in my ear.

"Now when you flip someone off, you'll be flipping them off in style." Shawn said and I laughed.

"You're crazy." I said as I turned towards the group.

"Yeah, crazy in love with you. Have we decided on a place to go for lunch?" Shawn asked everyone as he held my hand in his.

"We want to go to Jackie's Too." Thomas said. Shawn nodded and we started walking there. Meimei came up to Shawn and I.

"That was very sweet of you Shawn." Meimei said.

"What was?" Shawn asked as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

"You getting her the jewelry and then comforting her when she was upset." Meimei said. Shawn and I smiled. I noticed Thomas taking pictures of the three of us.

"Well she's my girl, and I have to make sure that my girl is okay." Shawn said. Meimei smiled and we soon arrived at Jackie's Too and were seated at a table outside with a view of the ocean. Shawn sat on one side of me and Meimei sat on the other. "What are you going to get babe?"

"I think that I'm just going to get the Jackie's cheeseburger. What about you?" I asked.

"I think that I'll get the Blackened Salmon Roll Up." He said. I found it on the menu.

"Babe that has tomatoes in it." I said. His eyes widened as he kept one arm on the back of my chair.

"Okay, um, what should I get?" He asked.

"What about the lobster roll?" I asked. He looked at it on the menu and nodded.

"Okay, yeah, I'll get that." He said. We soon ordered and talked while we waited for our food and drinks to arrive. The chairs didn't have any arms so I leaned on my fiancé, who then rubbed my shoulder and arm a little bit.

"So Shawn, are you liking it here?" Meimei asked. Shawn nodded.

"Yeah. It's absolutely beautiful here. Not as beautiful as the gorgeous girl that's leaning on me, but still, it's beautiful." Shawn said. I blushed as everyone laughed. I then buried my face in his chest to hide my red face. "Oh come on pretty girl, don't bury your face in my chest, let me see your beautiful face." Shawn said. I sighed and looked at him.

"There, you saw it. Happy?" I asked. He smiled at me.

"Yes, extremely." He said before kissing my forehead.

"So what do the earrings look like?" Grace asked. Shawn had the bag next to him so he handed it to me. I took them out.

"I love them." I said as I showed them to everyone.

"Oh they're beautiful!" Meimei said and I smiled and thanked her before putting them away again. I leaned on Shawn again, and then Thomas took out my camera and snapped a picture of us. I laughed.

"What? I'm just taking pictures of you and your soon to be husband." Thomas said.

"I know, and I love it." I said.

"Have you guys set a date yet?" Meimei asked. I sat up and Shawn and I shook our heads.

"No, but we're thinking of a spring wedding. Probably something indoors because, well, we would love an outdoor wedding, but we're just worried that it's going to rain that day and things will be ruined." I said. Meimei nodded.

"Do you think that you'll invite a lot of people?" She asked. I turned to Shawn, my Grammy nominated singer of a fiancé who knows a ton of people. He smiled and nodded.

"There's probably going to be a good amount of people there. I mean, we have her family, my family, and our friends, so that's a lot of people. You'll come, right Meimei?" Shawn asked. I looked at her and she smiled.

"I would love to. Let me know when you set a date and where you're having it and I'll try my hardest to be there." She said and we smiled. After we ate, we went to a nearby beach and walked around after putting our stuff in Shawn's jeep.

"Are you having fun darling?" Shawn asked. I nodded.

"Yeah. Thank you so much for this. You didn't have to pay for lunch though." I said.

"This trip is my treat honey. You've had a long semester, you're about to graduate soon, you deserve this." He said as we walked along Ogunquit Beach. I looked at him.

"What did I do to deserve you?" I wondered out loud. Shawn smiled at me.

"I ask myself what I did to deserve you all of the time. Come here babe." Shawn said as he suddenly picked me up bridal style. I squealed.

"SHAWN!" I yelled. He turned to face my mom, Thomas, Grace, and Meimei, who were all smiling at us.

"Hey Thomas! Can you take a picture of us please?" Shawn asked.

"Yeah I got you." Thomas said as he snapped a few pictures as I laughed. Shawn spun me around a little, causing me to laugh and squeal, which made Shawn smile and laugh. He then set me down and held my face in his hands.

"I love you so much." He said as we smiled at each other.

"I love you so much too." I said. He kissed my forehead and then wrapped his arms around my shoulders as I wrapped my arms around his torso. He then brushed some hair out of my face.

"The wind is blowing your hair around." Shawn said.

"Yeah my hair is getting in my mouth." I said as I gagged a little. Shawn laughed but helped me get the hair out as I laughed. After walking on the beach for a little bit, we headed back to Meimei and Grandpa's house. I was silent during the car ride as Shawn drove and Meimei sat in the back again.

"You okay pretty girl?" Shawn asked as I looked out the window. I nodded.

"Yeah." I lied. He pulled over and put his hazards on.

"I know you and I can tell that you're not. What's wrong babe?" He asked. I turned to him and tears formed in my eyes.

"I don't want to leave." I said.

"Oh honey, we can always come back and visit. We'll visit again soon, I promise, okay?" He asked.

"Okay." I said. He reached over and wiped some of my tears away.

"Don't cry pretty girl. It breaks my heart seeing you cry." He said.

"Sorry." I said.

"It's okay. Come on, let's get going." He said before turning off his hazards and getting back on the road. We soon got back to Meimei and Grandpa's, and mom, Thomas and Grace were already there.

"What took you guys so long?" Grace asked as we got out of the car.

"I got sad about leaving so Shawn pulled over and comforted me." I said.

"Yes and it was very sweet and cute." Meimei said. We then went inside and sat down with Grandpa. Shawn sat next to him, and I took my camera from Thomas and took pictures of him interacting with my grandparents. When Shawn noticed what I was doing, he smiled at me. Later on, we all went outside to sit at the picnic table.

"Come sit on my lap babe." Shawn said. I did as told and he wrapped his arms around me as I wrapped my arms around him. I kissed his cheek and he smiled at me.

"I love you, my handsome man." I said.

"I love you too, my gorgeous girl." He said and I smiled. A little bit later, Meimei stood up.

"Shawn, could I talk to you please?" She asked. Shawn nodded.

"Sure." He said. I got off of his lap and he got up and walked a little bit away, out of earshot, with Meimei. I smiled at the moment.

"Thomas, take a picture." I said and he did. Soon, Shawn and Meimei walked back over to us.

"Y/n could I talk to you please?" She asked. I nodded and stood up.

"Sure." I said. We walked a little bit away before she stopped walking and turned to me.

"He's a keeper. You can tell that he's so beyond in love with you. Not just by the fact that he buys you gifts or anything, but by the way that he is with you and the way that he looks at you, even when you aren't looking at him. He's definitely a keeper." She said. I smiled and looked back at Shawn. He was talking to Grandpa. I then looked back at Meimei.

"He really is a keeper. He's my best friend and I love him more than anything. I can't wait to be Mrs. Y/n Mendes. I think that when we get home I'll talk to him about setting a date. Wait, how does he look at me when I'm not looking at him?" I asked. Meimei smiled.

"He looks at you like you put the stars in the sky, like you're the reason why things are good in the world. He looks at you like you're the greatest thing he's ever seen and like you're the reason why the sun rises and falls. He looks at you like you're his world, and he told me that you are his world, and that you're his everything." Meimei said. I smiled at her before looking at Shawn, who was already looking at us. He smiled at us and I felt butterflies before turning back to Meimei.

"Meimei, just his smile alone gives me butterflies. And when him and I kiss, it's like butterflies and sparks and my heart races. And when he holds my hand, it's like I can feel electricity spark through me but I feel safe and warm at the same time. And when he holds me in his arms, it's like I'm in my true home, and it's like nothing bad can touch me or come anywhere near me. I love him and I hope that he never forgets that." I said. Meimei smiled.

"Well then always remind him that you love him. Come on, let's go back." She said. I nodded and when we got back, I sat down next to Shawn, who instinctively wrapped his arms around me and I leaned on him. I looked up at him and kissed his jaw. He looked at me and smiled.

"I love you." I said.

"I love you too baby." He said. Soon, it was time to leave, and we all said goodbye to my grandparents. We all got in the car and Shawn began to drive away.

"Shawn, Y/n, do you guys want to know what Meimei said when we were at the beach?" My mom asked as I held Shawn's hand in my lap.

"Yeah, what did she say?" I asked.

"When Shawn started to swing you around and then when he was holding your face, she goes 'Are they always this cute and in love?' and we said yes and she smiled and said 'Good. That makes me happy.'" Mom said. I smiled.

"Well it makes me happy that she said that." I said.

"When she was giving me a hug goodbye, she told me that she knows that I'm going to take good care of her precious granddaughter and I promised her that I would." Shawn said. I smiled.

"Awwww. I love that." I said and Shawn laughed. Soon we arrived at home. Mom, Thomas, and Grace left and Shawn and I went inside our house.

"Do you want to look at the pictures?" Shawn asked and I nodded as we pulled out my camera.

"I love these. We should print some of these out and frame them and send them to Meimei and Grandpa." I said. Shawn nodded.

"We should post some on Instagram too." Shawn said and I nodded.

"Yeah." I said. The next day, we figured out how to send them from my camera to my phone. Shawn posted the picture from when we first got there and him and I were standing on the rocks, another one was when we were walking around Perkins Cove, he posted more from Perkins Cove, including lunch, one of him spinning me around when we were at the beach, and then a picture of me sitting on his lap while we were at Meimei and Grandpa's picnic table. I read the caption.

"I had so much fun meeting Y/n's grandparents during a day trip to Maine yesterday. Y/n, her brother, her mom, her best friend and I were all sad to leave, but I promised Y/n that we would visit again soon. Maine, because you have a place in my soon to be wife's heart, you have a place in my heart too." Shawn wrote. I smiled and liked the photo. I then posted the pictures from the beach of Shawn holding me bridal style, him spinning me around, him holding my face, and one where I had stood behind him and massaged his shoulders while we were at the picnic table.

"I had so much fun going with my soon to be husband to my home away from home to meet my grandparents (who absolutely ADORED him by the way, but then again, who doesn't?). My mom, my brother, and my best friend came too and we loved it! It hasn't even been a full twenty four hours and I'm already yearning to go back to Perkins Cove and Ogunquit beach. Shawn, thank you for driving us there and back, and thank you for getting me the beautiful new ring and earrings even though I said that you didn't have to. I love you lots, please never forget that." I wrote. Shawn commented on it.

"I'll never forget that you love me, and please never forget that I love you too!" He wrote. I liked his comment and then posted the pictures of Shawn and I on the rocks - the one where we were smiling at the camera, another where Shawn was kissing my cheek, and another where we were kissing.

"Took my person to my place yesterday." I captioned it and even put the location as Marginal Way, which is right beside and part of Perkins Cove. Shawn liked those photos too.

"Come here baby girl." Shawn said as he laid on the couch. I laid down too and put my head on his chest. I then looked at my engagement ring and smiled.

"Shawny?" I asked as he traced random shapes on my back.

"Hmmm?" He responded.

"Can we set a date for the wedding please?" I asked as I picked my head up and put my chin on his chest. He kept one hand on my back and put one hand on my cheek.

"Okay. I feel like it shouldn't be this coming spring because I have tour this year and so it'll be hard to plan the wedding, but maybe the spring after that?" Shawn asked. I nodded.

"Okay. So, like, spring of 2024?" I asked. He nodded.

"Yeah. How does that sound?" He asked. I smiled and nodded.

"Good. Should we have it during the weekend?" I asked. He nodded.

"Yeah. What do you think about May?" He asked and I nodded. I pulled up the calendar on my phone.

"Okay. What about May twenty fifth? It's on a Saturday." I asked and said.

"Okay baby. Sounds like we have a date set." Shawn said and I smiled at him.

"Yup. May twenty fifth, 2024. Oh my gosh I can't wait." I said and Shawn chuckled.

"I know honey. I love you." He said. I snuggled my face into his chest.

"I love you too." I said. I'm so happy that Shawn and I set a date, and that he met my grandparents (finally), and that I got to show him my favorite parts of Maine, my home away from home.
