15. Wedding Planning Nerves

A/n: Okay so I know that Shawn isn't performing at the Rogers Centre until September sixth, but let's pretend that it's that night, shall we? Please enjoy this imagine. Okay, let's begin!

Shawn's point of view

Tonight I will be playing my biggest show to date: the Rogers Centre in my home city of Toronto, Canada. Unfortunately, because it's a Friday and my fiancé goes to school in America, she won't be able to attend. She had texted me earlier and said that she would be busy today but would text me when she could and she wished me good luck for tonight's show.

"I really miss Y/n." I said to my manager Andrew about two hours before the show. He nodded.

"I know. But after this show you get to spend some time with your family, and then you can go home and be with Y/n." Andrew said. I nodded.

"Yeah. I just really wish that she could be here tonight, you know? I can't wait to marry her." I said with a smile. Andrew nodded.

"Well that's good because I can't wait to marry you either." I heard Y/n say. I spun around and there she was, the most important person in my life.

"Oh my gosh you're here!" I said as I picked her up and spun her around a little. She squealed and laughed, causing my heart to flutter. I then put her down but put my hands on her cheeks as I looked into her beautiful y/e/c that I fell in love with the moment that I saw them for the first time, and every time since then.

"Yup. As soon as I left school I packed my bags and got the first flight here. Do you really think that I would miss my fiancé's biggest show to date?" She asked. I smiled and shook my head.

"No. I should've known that you would do this. I missed you so much honey. Come give me a kiss." I said. Y/n cupped the back of my neck and pulled me in for a kiss. I felt my heart race as if it were about to beat out of my chest, I felt butterflies erupt and fly around in my stomach, and I felt sparks shoot through my body like fireworks. Y/n and I soon pulled away and smiled at each other.

"I missed you too by the way." Y/n said. I smiled and gave her another quick kiss.

"I love you." I said. Her beautiful smile widened.

"I love you too." She said. We spent some time together before I had to go onstage. I gave her a quick kiss and then went onstage.

Your point of view

Shawn absolutely killed it at the Rogers Centre! But then again, why am I surprised? He always kills it. Once he was done with the concert, he ran off stage and straight over to me, even though his parents and sister were right next to me. He kissed me again.

"I can't stop kissing you oh my gosh. I've missed you so much baby." Shawn said when he pulled away. He had a huge smile on his face. I laughed.

"I've missed you too, now go greet your family!" I said. Shawn nodded and gave them all hugs. Afterwards, we all got into a van and drove to the Mendes household in Pickering, Canada. Shawn was sweaty from the show but I still leaned on him.

"How long are you with me for baby?" Shawn asked as he leaned his head against mine.

"Just the weekend. I fly back Sunday night because I have school on Monday morning." I said. Shawn nodded.

"I'm so happy to have you with me honey, even if it's just for a little bit." Shawn said. I nodded.

"Yeah, I'm happy too. I'm sorry that I can't stay longer, but I have work and school." I said. Shawn nodded and then kissed the side of my head, causing me to smile.

"It's okay. As long as I get to have you in my arms again, I'm happy." Shawn said, and I smiled before looking up at him and puckering up my lips. He chuckled and kissed me again. We soon pulled away since we didn't want to have a make out session in front of his parents and sister.

"I love you Shawny." I said. Shawn leaned his forehead against mine and smiled.

"I love you too Y/n." Shawn said. We soon arrived at the Mendes household and Shawn and I brought our luggage inside. We brought it up to Shawn's old bedroom and then went back downstairs. I brought a little box down with me. Shawn knew what I was about to do, and he beamed at me with happiness. Shawn's parents, Karen and Manny, and his sister, Aaliyah, were in the living room. I sat down in front of Aaliyah.

"I have something for you and something that I want to ask you." I said to her.

"What is it?" She asked. I handed her the box and her eyes widened when she opened it.

"Read it out loud chica." Shawn said.

"Aaliyah, you have truly become my sister from another mister, and mine and Shawn's wedding day wouldn't be the same without you. I love you so much. Will you be my bridesmaid?" She read. She put the box down and hugged me.

"Is this hug a yes or a no?" I asked teasingly and everyone laughed.

"It's a yes! A big fat yes!" She said and I held her tighter.

"Yay! Thank you for saying yes." I said.

"Thank you for asking me." She said. I thought for a moment.

"Actually, could I talk to you in private for a moment?" I asked.

"Sure." She said as we went in another room and shut the doors. We sat down.

"I just want to say that, well, I remember when Shawn and I first said that we were going to move in together and he said that he was going to be moving to Boston for me. You said that you hated me for taking your brother away from you, and luckily we made up, but I just want to be sure that you know that just because Shawn and I are getting married, that doesn't mean that I'm taking him away from you." I said. Aaliyah nodded.

"I know. It's okay." She said. I smiled and nodded.

"I have another question for you." I said.

"What is it?" She asked.

"When I go shopping for my wedding dress, would you like to come with me?" I asked. Her eyes went wide.

"Really?" She asked. I smiled at her as I nodded.

"Yup." I said.

"I would love to go! Thank you so much Y/n!" She said as she hugged me.

"You're welcome. Could you actually ask your mum to come in here please?" I asked and Aaliyah nodded. Soon, Karen came in and shut the doors behind her.

"Hey there honey. What's going on?" She asked.

"Well, first of all, I just want to say that you have the most amazing son. He treats me like I'm a queen and I love him so much." I said. Karen smiled at me and hugged me.

"Thank you for saying that. You two deserve each other, you're absolutely perfect for each other." Karen said and I smiled as we pulled away from the hug.

"Thank you. Also, um, when I go to pick out my wedding dress, would you like to come with me?" I asked. Karen's eyes widened.

"Really?" She asked. I nodded.

"Yup. I've already invited Aaliyah, my best friend Grace, and my mom, and I would love to have you there too." I said. Karen nodded.

"Of course I'll be there! Do you know what you want for a dress?" She asked. I smiled. Due to the fact that Shawn has been on tour, we haven't really been planning the wedding, but we have been talking about certain things over the phone and writing the things that we know that we want down.

"Yeah. I found a dress on Pinterest and I would absolutely love to go to that store Kleinfeld's in Manhattan because they have such a wide variety there." I said. She nodded and smiled when I showed her a picture on my phone of the dress that I want.

"Oh I love it! Have you and Shawn set a budget for the wedding dress?" Karen asked as I put my phone away. I shook my head and for some reason I started to feel nervous.

"No, not yet." I said.

"Well, why don't I send him in and you guys can talk?" Karen said. I nodded and thanked her. I began to play with my engagement ring as Shawn walked in and sat down.

"Hey love. You seem nervous, what's going on?" Shawn asked as he took my hands in his and rubbed the tops of my hands with his thumbs. I sighed. To be honest, it was more than just the wedding dress that I was nervous about. It was just everything.

"I feel like, nervous and overwhelmed and I haven't told anyone about how I'm feeling so it's been building up." I said as tears formed in my eyes. Shawn squeezed my hands.

"Hey, darling, it's okay. Let's go through it little by little. Does that sound good?" He asked. I nodded.

"Yeah." I said.

"Okay, good. Now, what are you nervous about?" He asked. I thought for a moment.

"Everything! The dress, the venue, the bridesmaids dresses, everything." I said as I cried.

"Honey, we don't even have that stuff picked out yet." Shawn said.

"Exactly! That's why I'm so nervous and overwhelmed! I just feel like I'm not in control of anything and like I don't know what's going to happen. I just want to know what's going on and when it's going on and where it's going on. Shawn, what if we can't find the perfect venue?" I asked as I put my head in my hands. Shawn picked me up and put me on his lap and rubbed my back.

"Honey, we'll get everything figured out and we'll find the perfect venue. Don't worry honey. Once tour is over, we're going to start planning this wedding, and I promise you that I will help with everything. The only thing that I'm not going to help with is your wedding dress." Shawn said.

"No I don't want you helping with that! You're not allowed to see it until you see me walk down the aisle. I actually have a question about the dress though..." I said. Shawn nodded as he continued to rub my back.

"Sure. What is it babe?" He asked. I sighed.

"What's my budget when it comes to the wedding dress? Like, how much should I spend on it?" I asked. Shawn thought for a moment before shrugging.

"You don't have a budget. I don't care if the dress costs ten thousand dollars, I just want to see you happy. Take my credit card when you go to buy it." Shawn said. My eyes widened.

"You - you want me to buy it with your credit card?" I asked. He smiled and nodded.

"Yeah." He said. I chewed at my bottom lip for a moment before shaking my head.

"No. I can't do that to you, I can't spend your money. That's not why I'm with you Shawn." I said. Shawn tilted his head to the side.

"I know that that's not why you're with me. Baby, please take my credit card when you go to buy the dress, and please don't hold back. Buy whatever dress you want, no matter how much it is." Shawn said. I smiled at him.

"Okay. What did I do to deserve you?" I asked. Shawn smiled at me and kissed my cheek.

"I ask myself what I did to deserve you everyday." Shawn said. I smiled at him but then it faded.

"What if we can't find a venue big enough to hold all of our guests? I mean, I know that we haven't made up the guest list yet but I know that it's going to be big. And I looked at getting married at the JFK Library and Museum but it's so expensive. There's another place that I looked at online but I don't think that it would be big enough. I just don't know what to do." I said as I began to cry again as the feeling of being overwhelmed came back.

"Honey, we'll get it all figured out, I promise. Do I ever break my promises, not just to you, but to anyone?" Shawn asked. I shook my head.

"No." I said.

"Exactly. We're going to find the right venue and everything will be perfect and it will be magical, okay?" He asked. I nodded.

"Okay. I just want to be married to you. I really, really, want to be married to you." I said as I calmed down again. Shawn smiled.

"Good because I really, really, want to be married to you too." Shawn said and I smiled. I then looked at his watch.

"I'm tired, let's go to bed honey." I said. Shawn nodded and we stood up.

"Everything okay?" Manny asked and Shawn and I nodded.

"Yeah. Just talking about the wedding. We're going to head to bed. Good night everyone." Shawn said. They said good night back and we went upstairs and got into his old bed.

"This is so weird." I said as we got under the covers.

"What is?" Shawn asked.

"This is the bed that you slept in growing up and now you're about to fall asleep in it with your fiancé." I said and Shawn laughed as we cuddled up to each other.

"Yup. Are you feeling any better now that we've talked and you let everything out?" He asked. I nodded my head against his chest.

"Yeah. Sorry about the crying." I said. Shawn rubbed my back.

"It's okay baby. You know that you can always cry in front of me." Shawn said. I nodded.

"Do you think that while you're on break from tour, we could start talking about the wedding more?" I asked. Shawn kissed the top of my head.

"Of course my love. Now, let's get some sleep. Good night darling. I love you." Shawn said. I smiled and kissed his jaw, which caused him to smile.

"Good night baby. I love you too." I said. Shawn and I had the nice weekend and he ended up flying back to Boston with me. We worked on talking about the wedding until he had to go back on tour. I love Shawn and the fact that he can always calm down my nerves.
