I sat with my boyfriend of about three months, the singer and songwriter Shawn Mendes. I'm on spring break so Shawn flew me up to Canada to be with him and so I could meet his family and friends. Shawn and I were sitting on his balcony, cuddled up to each other, in a comfortable silence.

"What do you think of me doing a livestream?" Shawn asked. I nodded my head against his chest.

"Okay. Should I go inside and watch it?" I asked. He looked at me and I saw that he had so much love for me in his eyes. He put his hand to my cheek and rubbed it with his thumb. I closed his eyes at his comforting touch.

"Well I was thinking that you could be in the livestream." Shawn said and my eyes snapped open as I sat up.

"You want me to be in the livestream?" I asked. He nodded.

"Yeah. The fans have seen pictures of you but they've never heard your voice or anything like that. What do you think babe? Please?" He asked as he stuck out his bottom lip in a pout. I chewed at my bottom lip for a moment before nodding.

"Okay." I said. He smiled and kissed all over my face.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you." He said as I laughed and squealed.

"You're welcome baby boy." I said. He then came up with a plan. I would move out of view, he would start his livestream, introduce me, and then I would move into view. I felt nervous as Shawn started the livestream.

"Hi guys. How are you guys doing?" He asked. I smiled at him. "So, you guys have seen posts about my girlfriend, but you've never seen videos of her or seen her in any of my live streams. So, I would like to introduce my wonderful girlfriend, Y/n Y/l/n to you guys. Come here baby." He said as he waved me over. I moved into view and sat down next to him.

"Hi guys." I said as I waved to his phone, and his fans. Shawn kissed my cheek and my smile widened.

"So, this is my girl, and I love her very much and she's very special to me, so please don't send her hate. Have you been having fun while you're here with me babe?" Shawn asked. I felt shy and nervous, so I just nodded at him. He chuckled and then looked at his phone. "She's being shy. It's actually weird for me to see her like this because usually she's not so quiet and shy."

"Well tens of thousands of people are watching this right now. I've never had so many watching me." I said as my face turned red. Shawn smiled at me.

"You're so cute when your face is all red. You're so cute all of the time." He said and I smiled.

"Well you're so cute all of the time too." I said. Shawn smiled at me and puckered up his lips for a kiss. "You want to kiss while tens of thousands of people watch?"

"Yes. I love your kisses. Your kisses give me crazy feelings and I can't get enough of them." He said.

"What types of crazy feelings?" I asked.

"Well, my heart races, and I get butterflies, and I get sparks throughout my body." Shawn said and I smiled.

"I get those same feelings too." I said.

"Really?" He asked. I nodded.

"Yup. When you and I kiss, it doesn't matter where we are or who we're with, it always feels like suddenly it's just the two of us and everything and everyone else falls away." I said and Shawn's smile was huge.

"I love you darling." He said. I brought my hand to his cheek and rubbed it with my thumb. He took his big hand and held my hand there.

"I love you too honey." I said. He puckered up his lips again and I smiled before placing my lips on his. I felt my heart race as if it were about to beat out of my chest, I felt sparks shoot through my body like fireworks, and I felt butterflies erupt and fly around in my tummy. We pulled away and smiled at each other.

"Are you my girl?" Shawn asked as he gently nudged me with his nose. I giggled and nodded.

"Yeah." I said. He kissed my cheek repeatedly, causing me to laugh and squeal like crazy. He then pulled away looked at his phone.

"I do that all of the time because I know that it's going to make her laugh, and I'm not kidding guys, her laugh makes my heart flutter." Shawn said. I put my hand to my heart.

"Oh Shawny." I said. He smiled at me.

"Well it's true." He said. I kissed his cheek and then he pulled me onto his lap.

"I adore you. Did you know that?" I said and asked. He nodded.

"Yup. And I adore you too. You make me so happy honey. Like, happier than I've ever been." Shawn said and I smiled.

"Well you make me happier than I've ever been too." I said. Shawn gave me a quick kiss.

"Should I explain to the fans how we met?" He asked. I shrugged.

"If you want to. This is your livestream baby, you can do whatever you want." I said. He smiled and nodded before turning back to his phone.

"All right guys, it's story time." Shawn said and I laughed.

"Should I get a blanket so we can get all tucked in for story time?" I teased. I realized that as long as I focused on Shawn and not the livestream, I was comfortable. Shawn laughed and shook his head.

"No. Okay, so, I was in Boston on August fifteenth and sixteenth in 2019. So on the sixteenth I went into a place called Dunkin Donuts because I was tired and I knew that they had coffee. I had never been to a Dunkin Donuts before, so when I saw a girl at the counter getting her own drink, I thought 'Okay, I'll ask her what to get.' and then the girl, which of course was Y/n, turned around and smiled at me. I swear that I have never seen a smile so beautiful. She came up to me and said something, and I honestly forget my first words to her." Shawn said as he looked over at me.

"Your first words to me were 'I'm sorry what? You have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen.'" I said. He smiled and nodded as he looked back at his phone.

"Yeah, so then she asked me for a picture and I said yes. We took the picture and I asked her to text it to me, which she did -" He started.

"I don't mean to interrupt, but I remember when you asked me to text it to you, I remember thinking something like 'Oh my gosh my celebrity crush and favorite singer wants to trade numbers.'" I said. Shawn smiled.

"Yeah, and then I asked her what I should order, and she told me what she usually orders. So I told her to stay where she was and went up to order the drink. When I got back to her, she smiled at me and I said 'Woah.' and she gave me a funny look and asked why I had said woah, so I started stumbling over my words and then I told her that she has a really amazing smile and she thanked me and said that I do too." Shawn said.

"You literally have the most amazing and most beautiful smile that I've ever seen." I said. Shawn gave me a quick kiss.

"Thank you baby. So, then I asked her out right then and there if she wanted to go out on a date with me and she said yes, and we sat down and talked for a while and it was great. I definitely fell for her the moment that I laid eyes on her." Shawn said and I smiled again.

"We sat there and talked for two hours but then Andrew wanted you, so you told Jake 'Tell him I'm on a date with a beautiful girl and I don't want to leave.' but I had to go anyways. We went on our second date the next day and that was wonderful too. That was when we kissed for the first time." I said and Shawn nodded.

"Yup. But we didn't start dating until this past December." Shawn said. I nodded. "We were constantly texting and calling and Facetiming each other. Y/n had asked that we take things slow and get to know each other, and I was completely fine with that. So then when tour was over in December, I flew to Boston and showed up at her house with flowers and asked her to be my girlfriend, and obviously she said yes." Shawn said. He had a huge smile on his face and I kissed his cheek.

"I remember that we would text and call and Facetime so much that my family and best friend actually got a bit upset with me. I remember telling them 'I know that I'm young and that him and I are still getting to know each other, but there's something about him that's pulling me in and I'm falling for him.'" I said. Shawn nodded.

"I remember that when we first sat down to talk, I just felt so intrigued with you. I just wanted to know everything that I could about you. I still feel like that." Shawn said. I smiled at him.

"You intrigue me too and I feel the same way. Obviously since we've known each other for about seven months, we've gotten to know each other pretty well, but we still like to find out more about each other." I said as I looked at his phone.

"Yeah. There will literally be moments where her and I are together or something, and we'll be watching something on tv and she'll go 'Wait! Can you pause it please?' and then once I've paused it, she tells me a story. I do the same thing for her. She's finding out things about me that I've never told anyone before." Shawn said. I was still sitting in his lap and he rubbed my legs.

"Do you realize how special that makes me feel?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"You trust me enough to tell me things that you haven't told anyone else, not another soul. It makes me feel so special and honored." I said. He smiled.

"Well, my darling, precious, angel girl, you are special. Is there anything that I know about you that no one else knows?" Shawn asked. I nodded.

"Yeah. I don't want to say what it is during the livestream, but yeah there's stuff that you know about me that others don't." I said. Shawn smiled at me before nuzzling his face into my neck. He placed a gentle kiss there and I smiled as I began to run my fingers through his hair.

"Do you want to know what I really, really love about you?" Shawn asked as his face was still buried in my neck.

"Yeah." I said.

"I love how strong you are. I remember when we first sat down and I asked you to tell me about yourself, not everything was good. You had some bad things happen in your life too, but you're still here, you're still standing, and I'm so proud of you for that." Shawn said and I smiled before placing a kiss on his head.

"Thank you honey. You're very strong too." I said. I could feel his lips curl into a smile before he placed another kiss on my neck.

"I love to hold you like this." He said. I had one hand in his hair, and my other hand rubbed his back.

"I love it too. You mean so much to me Shawn, you really do." I said. He picked his head up and looked at me.

"You mean so much to me too. Do you realize how in love with you I am? Because it's a lot." Shawn asked and said. I giggled.

"Oh honey, I'm really in love with you too." I said.

"Do you mind if we end the livestream so we can cuddle?" Shawn asked.

"It's your livestream babe, so it's up to you." I said. He nodded and then turned towards the phone.

"Bye guys. I love you all. Also, to anyone sending my girl hate, please stop. It's unnecessary and rude. Bye!" Shawn said, and then ended the livestream. He turned to me and I could tell what he was think just by the look on his face: Was that okay? Did you mind it?

"That was nice. I like talking about how we met." I said. Shawn smiled and nodded.

"Come on baby girl, let's go to my room and we can nap and cuddle." Shawn said, and that's exactly what we did. I love Shawn, and his live streams, so much.
