174. Shawn's First Interview After Your Wedding
Shawn's point of view
Six months ago I married the woman of my dreams, Y/n Mendes. She was Y/n Y/l/n, but when we got married, she took my last name, making me very happy. Tomorrow night I have my first interview since I got married. It's going to be on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Now I just have to say goodbye to my wife, who will be staying home and watching the interview on tv. I went downstairs and saw my wife sitting on the couch. She stood up when she saw me.
"Hi Mrs. Mendes." I said as I hugged her. She hugged me back.
"Hi Mr. Mendes. Are you ready for your flight?" She asked as she rubbed my arms after we pulled away from the hug. I sighed.
"Yeah. I just don't want to leave my beautiful and amazing wife." I said. Y/n put her hand to my cheek and rubbed it with her thumb.
"I know baby, and I don't want you to leave either but this is for your job. You have to do it Shawny." She said. I nodded and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. I let my lips linger on her forehead, which is my way of telling her that I love her. I then heard a car honk outside. Andrew must be here. I sighed.
"Can I have a goodbye kiss please?" I asked. Y/n smiled.
"Yes, but honey, it's not goodbye, it's see you later." She said. I stood there for a moment, in awe of the woman that I married.
"How did I get so damn lucky?" I asked. Y/n blushed before putting her lips on mine. I felt my heart race as if I had just run a marathon, I felt butterflies erupt and fly around in my stomach, and I felt sparks shoot through my body. We soon pulled away when we heard another honk.
"Do you need help with your luggage?" Y/n asked. I shook my head but she helped me anyways. When all of my luggage was loaded into the car, I turned to her and hugged her.
"I love you so damn much honey." I said. Y/n rubbed my back a little.
"I love you so damn much too babe. Now go before you miss your flight." She said with a giggle. I got in the car and waved to her. We soon drove away and I sat in silence, wanting nothing more than to just be home and cuddling with her. I soon got to the airport and the next night I was introduced on The Late Late Show by James Corden.
"So, Shawn, you recently got married, is that correct?" James asked. I nodded and the crowd cheered.
"Yes it is. I got married to Y/n six months ago and that was definitely the best day of my life." I said with a smile.
"Now, I was at the wedding, and I have to say that it was quite beautiful." James said.
"Thank you." I said.
"How much input did you have in the whole wedding planning process?" James asked.
"Well, when Y/n and I got engaged we agreed to both be involved in all of the planning, so the only thing that I didn't have any input for was her wedding dress, but I think that she did a great job picking that out." I said.
"She looked absolutely gorgeous!" James said.
"She did - she's mine by the way." I said, feeling a little jealous. James but his hands up as if he were surrendering.
"Is someone getting a little jealous?" James teased and I knew that my face was turning red.
"Listen, she's the most gorgeous girl in the world, I can't help it." I said with a chuckle. James laughed.
"So how's married life treating you guys?" James asked. I smiled widely.
"It's going amazingly. It's great. I think we've only had one fight since we've been married and that wasn't until, like, three months into the marriage. But other than that one fight we've been very happy and cuddly and just always around each other." I said.
"What was the fight about if you don't mind me asking? Did you get a little too jealous?" James asked with an inquiring look. I chuckled and shook my head.
"No. I had come home from work feeling pretty frustrated and I took it out on her by accident, so I slept on the couch that night and then we made up in the morning." I said.
"She made you sleep on the couch?" James said, surprised. I nodded and laughed at his reaction.
"Yeah. Well, I mean, I don't blame her considering the fact that I said some pretty crappy stuff to her and made her feel terrible. But the next day when we made up we were both hugging and crying and I promised to never take my frustrations out on her ever again." I said. James nodded.
"Now, you said you guys have been cuddly with each other, so do you guys just not leave each other's sides?" James asked.
"Well, we're not always with each other for the whole day but, like, we'll cuddle on the couch together and if she's making dinner, it's like, I always have to keep touching her in some way. I can't keep my hands off of her." I said. James smirked at me.
"You can't keep your hands off of her?" He asked.
"I probably shouldn't have worded it like that." I said, looking down a little.
"So, does this mean that your sex life has gone up?" James asked with a very serious face. I put my head in my hands before answering.
"Listen, and this is the truth: when Y/n and I first started to get to know each other more, she told me that she wanted to wait until she knew that she was with the right guy first before she had sex, so she said that she was waiting for marriage. When she told me that I told her that she should set the pace and I'll just keep up. So we didn't do it until our honeymoon." I said with a blush.
"But you had been with girls before Y/n, correct?" James asked. I nodded.
"Yes." I said.
"Did Y/n know that?" James asked. I nodded again.
"Yes. She once told me, and this was when we were dating by the way, that she felt bad that she was making me wait, and I told her not to feel bad and that I would wait a lifetime for her, which I really would've." I said. The crowd went "Awww" which made me smile.
"Was marrying Y/n the best decision that you've ever made?" James asked. I smiled and nodded.
"Definitely." I said.
"So should we be expecting to hear that you guys are pregnant anytime soon?" James asked. I chuckled and shook my head.
"No. We want to be married for a year before we start trying to have a family." I said.
"Can I make a suggestion?" James asked. I nodded.
"Of course." I said.
"When you have a son, you should name him James." James said. I laughed.
"We actually already have names picked out because we know that we want two girl and a boy." I said.
"Is James the name of the boy?" James asked. I chuckled and shook my head.
"No. Sorry man." I said.
"It's okay. Well say hello to the missus for me, and we'll be right back after this commercial." James said. After the interview, I called Y/n. She answered after three rings.
"Hi Mr. Mendes." She said. I smiled.
"Hey Mrs. Mendes. Did you watch my interview?" I asked.
"Well of course." She said, causing me to laugh.
"What did you think?" I asked.
"I think that you did great babe. I love you so much." She said. I smiled even more.
"Thank you. I love you too. I'll see you soon okay?" I said and asked.
"Okay. Hurry your cute butt home to me so we can cuddle." She said. I threw my head back with laughter.
"I will honey. And also, maybe we can do a bit more than cuddling?" I asked. Y/n giggled.
"Of course. I would love that." She said.
"Good because I would love that too." I said.
"I can't believe James asked about our sex life." She said.
"I know babe. As soon as he started smirking I knew that he was going to ask about it. But I did a good job answering those questions, don't you think?" I asked.
"Yup. You handled it very well." Y/n said. I smiled.
"Thank you. Well, I'll let you go to bed. Call me when you wake up, okay?" I asked.
"Okay baby. I love you." She said, causing my smile to widen and my heart to flutter.
"I love you too. Good night." I said.
"Good night." She said, and with that, we hung up. I soon arrived at my hotel and I immediately went to bed. I fell asleep and dreamt of my perfect wife who I love and miss so much.
