Shawn's point of view

"I don't know man, I just really miss my family. I mean, my daughter and my wife are literally my entire world." I said to my manager Andrew. I've been on tour for three months and I miss my two and a half year old daughter, Rose, and my wife, Y/n Mendes, who I've been with for seven amazing years. Andrew nodded.

"I know. Just a little bit longer and then you'll be back home with them." Andrew said. I nodded.

"Shawn, it's time for your q&a." My bodyguard, Jake said. I stood up and walked with him. Before the doors into where my q&a were opened up, I put on a fake smile. I walked in and it turned slightly real. The fans were waving at me. Andrew and my drummer Mike sat in the back but for some reason, it looked like they were sitting in front of something.

"Hi guys." I said as I sat down. I quickly got started with questions.

"I don't know how often your fans ask you this, but how are you?" She asked. I smiled.

"I'm good. I miss my family but I'll call them after this to check on them." I said. All of the sudden I saw both Andrew and Mike turn around.

"Shawn? We have a situation over here." Mike said.

"What's wrong?" I asked as I stood up, feeling concerned.

"There's a child named Rose over here that's asking for her Daddy." Mike said with a smile. Oh my gosh. Mike moved, and I saw Y/n stand up with Rose on her hip.

"Oh my gosh, hi." I said. The fans moved so my wife and daughter could come up to me and I met them a few steps in front of the table.

"DADDY!" Rose yelled. I took her out of my wife's arms and gave my wife a quick kiss.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked as I brought them over to the table. I sat Rose down next to me and Y/n sat on the other side of me.

"Well she wanted to see her Daddy, so I thought that it would be nice to surprise you." Y/n said. I kissed her cheek.

"This is the best surprise ever." I said with a smile - by now it was real. I felt Rose poke my leg. She waved for me to lean down so she could whisper to me.

"Can I please sit on your lap Daddy?" She asked. I smiled and nodded.

"Of course you can sit on my lap sweet pea." I said as I picked her up and put her on my lap. She leaned her back against me and I started rub her arms before suddenly tickling her neck, causing her to laugh hysterically.

"No Shawn, she'll pee." Y/n said.

"Oh, right." I said.

"Daddy do it again." Rose said.

"I can't." I said. She looked up at me.

"Why not?" She asked.

"Do you want to tell my fans what happens when I make you laugh too hard?" I asked with a smile. She looked at them.

"I make wet." She said. I chuckled.

"When she says that she makes wet, that she means that she pees." I said, the fans laughed.

"Daddy?" Rose asked. I looked at her and wrapped my arms around her little body so she wouldn't fall off my lap.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Can I pick the next person?" She asked. I smiled at her and kissed the top of her head.

"Of course you can pick the next person. Who do you want to pick?" I asked. She thought for a moment before pointing to a girl wearing an Illuminate shirt.

"The girl wearing my Daddy's face!" She said, causing everyone to laugh.

"Is it hard to be away from your family?" The girl asked. I nodded and started to absentmindedly brush Rose's hair back with my fingers.

"It's very hard. These two are literally my whole entire world. Plus it's very hard to get a phone call saying that Rose is upset and misses me, because, as a father, in those moments there's nothing that I want more than to just hold her in my arms and tell her that everything's going to be okay. So it's very hard." I said. Rose looked up at me.

"Daddy can we play?" She asked. I chuckled.

"Sorry honey, not right now. Maybe later, okay?" I asked. She nodded.

"Okay." She said.

"Alright, pick another person." I told her. She pointed at someone.

"How old is Rose now?" She asked. I looked at Rose.

"How old are you my Rosie girl?" I asked. She held up three fingers.

"I'm two!" She said happily. I put one finger down.

"That was three, this is two." I said with a laugh. Rose picked someone else.

"Do you and Y/n think that you guys will have more kids?" She asked. I smiled at Y/n and nodded.

"Yeah. We want two or three kids." I said before looking at Rose. "Do you want a little brother or sister someday?"

"I'm okay with a little sister." She said while looking up at me.

"What about a little brother?" I asked. She made a face and shook her head.

"No. Boys are weird and they have cooties." She said, causing the fans, Y/n, and I to laugh. I pretended to be offended.

"Are you saying that I'm weird, and that I have cooties?" I asked. She giggled.

"Noooo. I like you Daddy." She said. I smiled.

"Good because I like you too. Actually, I love you." I said, booping her nose, which made her laugh.

"I love you too Daddy. I'm tired." She said.

"All right, do you want to go back to my dressing room?" I asked. She shook her head.

"No. Can I nap on you?" She asked. I smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, here, why don't you sit like this and then close your eyes." I said as I adjusted her so she was sitting on me sideways. I kept my arms around her, and when I looked down again, she had closed her eyes. The q&a soon came to an end and I carried Rose out of the room while Y/n walked behind me, her hand on my back.

"Did you like your surprise?" Y/n asked me. I nodded.

"Definitely. I had just been telling Andrew how much I miss you guys." I said as I laid Rose down on the couch. I looked at my wife and pointed at Rose. "We made that."

"Yup. We did." Y/n said with a smile as she looked at Rose. I went and stood behind Y/n and wrapped my arms around her. She let her hands rest on top of where mine were. I kissed the side of her face before burying my head in her neck.

"I've miss you darling." I said. She hummed.

"I've missed you too. Rose has been itching to see her daddy." Y/n said.

"Hey honey?" I asked as I started to sway us from side to side and lift my head up.

"Yes?" She asked.

"Remember how one of the fans asked about us having more babies?" I asked.

"Yeah." Y/n said, and I saw her smile.

"When I get home from tour, can we make more babies?" I asked. Y/n thought for a moment before nodding.

"Yeah." She said.

"REALLY?" I yelled before remembering that my daughter was asleep.

"Shhh, you're going to wake up Rose." Y/n said.

"Daddy, why are you yelling?" Rose asked. I walked over to her and put her on my lap.

"I just got really excited about something. You know, I have some time before my show, so we can play if you want." I said. She wriggled herself off my lap.

"Let's play hide and seek!" She said. I laughed as I stood up and covered my eyes. I counted to ten before going to look for her.

"Hmmm. Is she over here? No. I wonder where she could be. Is she -" I was cut off by my manager.

"Shawn it's time to go onstage." Andrew said.

"But I'm playing hide and go seek with Rose." I said. He laughed.

"You can do that afterwards." He said. I groaned.

"Rose, wherever you are, we'll continue this later." I yelled.

"Don't worry, I know where she is." Y/n said. I nodded before giving my wife a kiss and then heading onstage.

Your point of view

"Rose, come out from behind the curtain, Daddy just had to go on stage." I said. She emerged and walked over to me.

"Are we going to watch Daddy?" She asked.

"Do you want to?" I asked. She started to jump up and down.

"Yeah!" She yelled, causing me to laugh. I went into the hallway and found Geoff.

"Geoff, she wants to watch Shawn." I said.

"Okay, follow me." He said, and led me to the side of the stage. Shawn got to the end of the concert.

"Okay, I have one more song, and I'm very excited to play it tonight since it's about my daughter tonight. She's actually here but her and I were playing hide and seek and before I could find her, I had to come onstage. Luckily my amazing wife, who's also here, knows where she is. Okay, so, this song is called My Rosie Girl." Shawn said before he started to sing.

"I'm right here Daddy! Daddy! I'm right here!" Rose yelled, but Shawn couldn't hear her over the sound of the music. Rose started to pout. "Why isn't he answering me?"

"The music is too loud for him to hear you." I said.

"Can I go onstage and see him?" Rose asked. My eyes widened. I chewed at my bottom lip while thinking for a moment.

"Towards the end of the song you can." I said. Soon, the song was about to be over, so I set Rose down, and watched as she ran out onto the stage. The crowd cheered louder, which confused Shawn, but he then looked over and saw his daughter barreling towards him. His smile grew. Luckily this song didn't require a guitar so he leaned down and picked her up. He put his finger to his lips so she knew to keep quiet for a moment. When the song came to an end, he turned her a little so the crowd could see her more.

"Rose can you say hi?" He asked. She looked out at the large crowd and then buried her face in his neck. "Don't be shy, sweet pea. You're not shy around me, and they're not going to bite you or anything." Shawn then tickled one her sides, causing her to lift her head up and laugh. "Can you say hi to my fans?" Shawn asked. She put her mouth up to the microphone.

"Hi Daddy's fans." She said shyly. Shawn smiled and bounced her on his hip, causing her to laugh, which was heard on the microphone. Shawn kissed her forehead.

"Say good night to everyone Rosie." Shawn said.

"Bye Daddy's fans." She said with a little wave. Shawn gave a little wave too and walked off the stage and walked over to me with a smile on his face.

"When you started to talk about playing and go seek with her, she started to yell for you and then she wanted to go up onstage and see you. Was that okay?" I asked. Shawn smiled before nodding.

"That was perfect. Come on, let's head back to the hotel." Shawn said, his daughter still on his hip.

"Daddy?" She asked. He smiled at her, his pride and joy.

"Yes princess?" He responded.

"Why do you smell stinky?" She asked, causing all of us to laugh, including Shawn.

"I'm stinky because I was just playing onstage for a while, but I'll shower when we get back to the hotel, okay?" He asked. She nodded. We soon went back to the hotel and as Shawn showered, I changed her into her new jammies. They were pink with white bunnies on them. Shawn soon stepped out of the shower wearing his pink hoodie and gray sweatpants.

"Daddy look at my new jammies! It's a onesie!" She said. Shawn laughed and smiled at her excitement as he picked her up.

"You look so cute my Rosie girl. Where did you get them?" He asked.

"Grandma Karen got them for me." She said. Shawn couldn't stop smiling.

"Well you look absolutely adorable in them honey." Shawn said. She perked up at the sound of him saying that.

"Thank you Daddy." She said.

"You're welcome. Now, there's only one bed in here, so you're going to have to sleep with Mommy and I, okay?" Shawn asked. She nodded.

"Daddy? Can I lay on your chest please?" She asked. Shawn nodded.

"Of course honey. Come on, let's go to bed." Shawn said, and that's exactly what we did. Rose laid on top of Shawn and I cuddled up to his side.

"Good night Daddy. I love you." Rose said. Shawn rubbed my back with one hand, and he rubbed her back with his other hand.

"I love you too sweet pea. Good night." Shawn said.

"Good night Shawny. I love you." I said to my amazing husband. He looked over at me, kissed my forehead, and smiled.

"Good night my love. I love you too." He said, and with that, we all fell asleep. I'm so glad that Shawn liked his surprise.
