110. Trust?
A/n: I'M BACK BABY! Okay so this talks about the Rolling Stones interview that Shawn did. I'm not trying to start any drama, but in my opinion, it doesn't sound like Shawn to smoke weed. Even if he did, I wouldn't give a flying fuck. I know people who smoke weed, one of them even smokes for medicinal reasons. Weed can actually really help people with anxiety and pain, so if he wants to smoke, I don't care, I'll still support him. Someone messaged the bartender that he supposedly took back to his hotel, and she said that they didn't sleep together, however, I saw that he DOES follow her on Instagram. Also, I don't believe that Shawn said that stuff about Hailey (Baldwin) Bieber because the both of them have been so adamant that they were just friends, so why would Shawn suddenly go back on his word? I've seen videos of him from the Illuminate q&a's and he said that he would never lie to us, his fans. Okay, rant over. Please enjoy this imagine. EXPLICIT LANGUAGE! Okay, let's begin!
I was laying in bed when I heard someone come in the house. My boyfriend, the singer and songwriter, Shawn Mendes, is currently on his Jingle Ball tour, but maybe he's surprising me? Who knows. He likes to surprise me sometimes. I heard someone coming up the stairs and walk into the bedroom.
"There she is." Shawn whispered. I turned around and faced him.
"Shawnie?" I asked. He smiled at me as he walked over to the bed and sat near my legs.
"Hi darling. Are you tired?" Shawn said and asked. I nodded.
"Yeah. I love it when you call me darling." I said with a smile. His smile remained on his gorgeously handsome face.
"Yeah?" He asked. I nodded.
"Yeah. I love it when you call me darling, my love, love, baby, honey, sweetie or sweetheart, and future Mrs. Mendes." I said. Shawn kissed my forehead. The spot that he kissed was left feeling tingly even after his lips were no longer there.
"Well honey, you are future Mrs. Mendes. Want me to get into bed with you and cuddle with you?" Shawn asked. I nodded.
"Would you mind?" I asked. He shook his head as he got up and went around to his side of the bed and got in.
"Not at all. Come here my love." Shawn said as he laid on his back and opened up his arms. I scooted closer to him, put my head on his chest, and wrapped my arm around his torso as he wrapped one arm around my back and shoulders and his other arm laid across mine, but he let his hand rub up and down my arm. I closed my eyes and listened to his heartbeat.
"Your heartbeat is going kind of fast. Are you okay honey?" I asked as I picked up my head to look at him. He smiled and nodded at me.
"Yeah. It's just because I'm holding the most beautiful girl in the world in my arms right now." He said, causing me to blush. A thought suddenly popped into my head and I frowned.
"Shawn?" I asked.
"Yes my dear?" He responded.
"Why is it that after the Rolling Stones interview came out and you called me, you reassured my that you don't smoke weed, which I knew but you reassured me that you have never done it behind my back, and you reassured me that you never said those things about Hailey, but you never reassured me about the bartender that they mentioned. I know that you would never take another girl back to your hotel room, I trust you, it's just the other girls I don't trust. Why didn't you reassure me about that?" I asked, still looking at Shawn. He shrugged.
"I don't know. I guess that I didn't feel like I had to." He said. Okay then.
"I saw that you follow her on Instagram. How did you get her Instagram?" I asked.
"Well I thought that she was a nice girl, so I asked for her Instagram and I followed her." He said.
"But you've never done that with any other girl." I pointed out. I could tell that Shawn's frustration level was rising, but mine was too. I needed answers.
"I know." He said.
"Why do you follow her on Instagram?" I asked. He shrugged again.
"She seemed nice, and I like nice people, so I wanted to see what she was posting." Shawn said. I nodded.
"Do you guys, um, do you guys ever message each other and talk over Instagram or anything?" I asked, worried about the answer. Shawn looked me straight in the eyes.
"I don't really think that that's any of your business." Shawn said. I propped myself up on my elbow and took my other arm off of Shawn's torso.
"I thought that we were best friends." I said.
"We are." He said.
"And I thought that in the beginning of our relationship, when we first started dating, we said that we would never keep secrets from each other." I said.
"We did agree to that." Shawn said.
"Then why are you not telling me, your girlfriend, if you're messaging another woman or not?" I asked, trying to stay calm.
"Because it's none of your business! Gosh you're asking so many damn questions!" He practically yelled. His arm was still wrapped around my shoulder and back.
"Do me a favor, and get your arm off my back." I said.
"What?" He asked.
"Get your arm off my back, and stop touching me." I said as I rolled over onto my other side so my back was to Shawn.
"Baby don't be like this." Shawn said as he touched my arm. I shrugged him off.
"One: don't call me baby. Two: don't touch me. Three: I'm going to be however I want to be." I said.
"You're overreacting." Shawn said, touching my arm again. I hate it when people say that I'm overreacting.
"I'm not overreacting. You know that I hate it when people say that I'm overreacting. My boyfriend won't tell me if he's messaging another woman or not and he won't leave me the fuck alone." I said. Shawn rolled over onto his back and stopped touching me.
"Geez, maybe you're not future Mrs. Mendes." I heard him mutter. I turned over and faced him.
"What did you just say?" I asked him. He shook his head.
"Nothing." He said.
"No, repeat what you just said." I told him.
"I said that maybe you're not future Mrs. Mendes, but baby, listen, I didn't mean it." He said. Tears formed in my eyes as I threw the blankets off of my body, ran downstairs, put my shoes on, grabbed my keys, and ran out to my car. Shawn tried to follow me out of the house, so as soon as I got into the car, I locked the doors. He tried to open the doors but he couldn't.
"Fuck off Shawn." I said, tears rolling down my face.
"Please baby, open up. I didn't mean it!" He yelled, still trying to open the door. I put the car in reverse and drove away. I got to a busy intersection where people traveling down one road don't have to stop, but the cars on the other sides have to come to a stop, there's even stop signs. I was on the road where you didn't have to stop when suddenly a car crashed into me on my side of the car. I screamed and suddenly felt a strong and heavy amount of pain in my left leg, causing me to groan and scream some more. All of the sudden, the pain got to be too much, and I blacked out.
Shawn's point of view
I sat in the house that I share with my amazing girlfriend, Y/n, while tugging at my curls. I had said some things that I definitely should not have said, and she left. I don't know where she went, but she most likely went to her mother's house, which isn't too far away from where Y/n and I live. I called her mom.
"Hey Shawn." Y/m/n said.
"Hey, is Y/n at your house? Her and I just got into a fight and she left and now she won't answer her phone." I asked and said.
"I don't know, I'm driving right now. I'll call her and then call you back." She said.
"Okay, thank you." I said.
"You're welcome." She said, and we hung up. A little bit later, her mom called me back.
"Hi." I said.
"Shawn, I called her phone a paramedic answered. He said that she was involved in a bad car accident and that they're taking her to the local hospital. She's not even conscious right now. I'm going to head to the hospital now." She said. I stood up.
"Oh my gosh. Okay, I'm on my way." I said, and hung up. I did this. I caused her car accident.
I got in my car and tried to drive to the hospital, but there was a lot of traffic on one of the main roads. I parked my jeep, got out, and walked over to see what was going on. Oh my God. I saw policemen and a group of people standing around my girlfriend's car. The driver side door was almost completely smashed in. I went up to one of the police officers and asked him for directions on how I could get to the hospital. He told me and I soon arrived at the hospital. I walked into the hospital and went up to the desk.
"Excuse me, I'm looking for my girlfriend's room? Y/n Y/l/n?" I asked.
"She's on the second floor in room 302." The lady said. I thanked her and went up to her room. I knocked on the door and walked in. Her parents were sitting in the room, but looked over at me when I walked in.
"Hi Shawn." Y/n's dad said.
"Hi. How is she?" I asked as I looked at her. Machines beeped as she continued to be unconscious.
"They think that she has a badly broken leg and maybe some damage to her ribs." Her dad said. Tears formed in my eyes.
"This is all my fault. If I hadn't said those terrible things then she wouldn't have left and she wouldn't have gotten into this car accident. I didn't even mean what I said, I don't know why I said those things." I said as I started to cry. I sat down in one of those uncomfortable hospital chairs and sobbed.
"Shawn, this isn't your fault. You didn't mean what you said. It's okay." Her mom said. I shook my head.
"If you don't mind me asking, what was said?" Y/n's dad asked. I sighed and told them everything. They just simply nodded. I moved my chair closer to my girlfriend who's so beyond precious to me, and held her hand.
"Well when she wakes up we'll leave you two alone so you guys can talk." Y/n's mom said. I nodded. We sat there for another fifteen more minutes, her parents sitting in the chairs at the end of her hospital bed, me sitting next to her, letting my thumb rub circles on the top of her hand, before we heard a groan.
Your point of view
"Shhh, it's okay, you're okay." I heard a male voice say after I had groaned. I opened my eyes, looked over at Shawn, looked at him hold my hand, and pulled my hand away. I looked at my parents.
"Hi sweetie, how are you feeling?" My mom asked.
"My leg really hurts." I complained.
"We'll let the doctor know." My dad said as they left the room. A nurse and my parents soon came in and the nurse gave me pain medicine through the IV. The nurse left the room.
"We'll leave you two alone." My mom said. I nodded. Shawn tried to take my hand again so he could hold it but I pulled it away.
"Don't touch me." I said.
"I'm so sorry honey. I didn't mean to cause this. I saw your car. It looks bad but you're okay and that's all that matters." Shawn said.
"You didn't cause me this physical pain, but you caused me pain in my heart." I said. Shawn started to cry and tug at his curls. "Don't tug at your curls." I said. He pulled his hands away from his curls and put his hands in his lap.
"I'm so sorry honey. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean a word that I said." Shawn said. I started to cry.
"Well you still said it. And I kept telling you to leave me alone and not to touch me, but you wouldn't listen to me." I said. Shawn stood up and tried to wipe my tears away but I moved my head and swatted his hand away.
"I'm sorry. I should've listened to you. Please don't cry darling, I hate to see you cry." He said as I sobbed.
"Well you're the one that's causing these tears. All I fucking wanted to know was why the hell you were - and probably still are - following another woman on Instagram, a woman who you had just met, and I wanted to know if you were messaging with her, and you looked me dead in the eyes and told me that you didn't think that it was any of my business. When we first started dating, we promised each other that we wouldn't keep secrets from each other, but today you broke that promise. And then, you said that maybe I wasn't future Mrs. Mendes. Shawn, you know that my biggest fear is that the one that I love is going to stop loving me and leave me. You KNOW that Shawn, yet you still said it. How could you?" I asked, tears now streaming down both of our faces.
"I didn't mean a single word that I said. I don't know why I said them, and I am so, so, sorry. You are future Mrs. Mendes. I don't message with that bartender, I swear." He said.
"Prove it. Go to her profile, click on messages, and show me that there's no messages there." I said. Shawn pulled out his phone and showed me. There were no messages between them.
"See? No messages. And here, I'll even unfollow her." He said, and pressed the unfollow button as I watched. I nodded.
"Thank you." I said.
"You're welcome honey. Are we all better now?" Shawn asked. I thought for a moment before shaking my head.
"Why didn't you just reassure me about the bartender when you were reassuring me about everything else over the phone?" I asked. Shawn hung his head.
"I don't know." He said.
"How could you say all of those things to me Shawn? You know that my biggest fear is that you're going to stop loving me and leave me, and instead of calming that fear by reassuring me over the phone, you didn't, and then you said the thing about me maybe not being future Mrs. Mendes. Out of all of the people in the world who could have fed into that fear, I never thought that it would be you. But you did nothing but add fuel to the fire. You were the one that made this fear worse Shawn, nobody else, just you. Fuck you for doing that and making my heart hurt like this. Fuck you Shawn. My trust in you has gone down." I said. Shawn sobbed.
"I'm so sorry. I'll completely understand if you want to break up with me, but just know that I love you." He said. I nodded.
"I love you too, but I need to talk to my mom." I said. He nodded and got my mom. I told her everything that I had just told him as I sobbed.
"Do you want to break up with him?" She asked. I thought for a moment.
"I don't know mom, I don't know. What do I do?" I asked.
"Well, the doctors want to keep you overnight because of the damage to your ribs. Maybe you should take that time to think everything over." She said. I nodded.
"Okay." I said.
"Do you want me to send him in?" She asked. I nodded.
"Yes please." I said. Shawn soon walked in.
"You wanted to see me?" He asked, and I could tell that he was nervous. I wanted nothing more than to hug him and wipe his tears away, but I was so hurt. I nodded.
"Yeah. Um, the doctors said that I have to stay overnight." I said. He nodded.
"Do you want me to see if I can stay overnight with you or no?" He asked nervously.
"I think that I need to be alone for the night and get my thoughts sorted out, and I think that you should go home and do the same thing." I said. He hung his head but nodded. He looked back up at me.
"Okay. Would it be okay if I kissed your forehead?" He asked. I shook my head.
"No." I said. He nodded his head and stood up to leave, but looked back at me.
"I love you. I always will." He said. I nodded.
"I love you too, and that's what makes all of this so hard." I said. He nodded and walked out. By now it was nighttime. My parents soon said goodnight to me and left. That night, I barely slept. Thoughts raced around in my brain about what to do. I finally realized what I wanted - and needed - to do, and then fell asleep.
The next morning I woke up confused when I heard the beeping. I quickly remembered that I had been in a car accident and was in the hospital. I looked over to my left and saw my best friend, Grace, sitting next to me. She smiled at me.
"Good morning. How are you feeling?" She asked.
"Sore. What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Yesterday your mom told me that you got into a car accident but that it may be better to wait until tomorrow - which is today - to see you. She said that you got into a fight with Shawn, so I called him this morning and he cried as he told me everything. He kept saying how he can't lose you, he's so beyond in love with you, you're his soulmate, the love of his life. He wants to be with you forever and marry you and have kids and grandkids with you, and he wants to grow old with you. He didn't sleep at all last night. Y/n, I know that he hurt you, but at least you got all of your feelings out, and he told you that he didn't mean any of what he said - not that I'm happy about what he said - but still, just try trusting him again." She said. I nodded.
"Okay. Can you ask him to come to the hospital please?" I asked. She nodded.
"Sure, let me just grab the doctor first and tell him that you're awake." She said. The doctor came in and checked some stuff.
"You're free to go home today. Here's a prescription for pain medicine, and you're going to need crutches and physical therapy. As you can tell, your leg is already wrapped in a cast, so you won't be able to move it." He said. I thanked him and he left. Grace walked back into the room.
"Shawn said that he's on his way. What did the doctor say?" She said and asked.
"Okay. He said that I'm free to go home today, and gave me some medicine and crutches, and I need to do physical therapy. Will you stay with me until Shawn gets here?" I asked. She nodded as she held my hand.
"Of course." She said. We sat and talked for a little bit before Shawn walked in. Grace gave both Shawn and I hugs and left.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Shawn asked as he sat down in the chair next to my bed.
"Sore, but a lot better than yesterday." I said. He nodded.
"You're so beautiful." He said. I smiled, looked down, and blushed.
"Thank you." I said.
"You're welcome. Do you know when you'll be able to go home?" He asked.
"The doctor said that I can go home today." I said. He smiled and nodded.
"Good. Do you, um, do you want me to ask your mom if you can stay with her, or do you want to come back to the house with me. You don't have to come back to the house with me, but if you do want to, I can totally sleep on the couch if you want me to. I canceled the rest of my Jingle Ball concerts." He said. I looked at him before reaching out for his hand. He smiled at me and as our hands touched, I felt electricity spark through me, yet I felt safe and warm at the same time. It was in that moment that I knew that everything was going to be okay.
"Shawn, I want to go home with you, and I want to sleep in the bed with you so I can cuddle with you." I said with a smile. He stood up and kissed my forehead, and I closed my eyes when I felt the warmth of his lips. Afterwards, he sat back down.
"Thank you honey. I'm sorry about everything that I said, I didn't mean any of it. Do you forgive me?" He asked. I nodded.
"I forgive you, and I'm sorry that I yelled at you yesterday, but you needed to know how what you said and did made me feel." I said. He nodded.
"It's okay. When we get home, I'll carry you up the stairs, okay? We'll cuddle and I'll treat you like the princess that you are." He said. I smiled and nodded.
"Okay. Can we go home now? I've already signed the discharge papers." I asked and said. He nodded and soon I was wheeled out to the car. When we got home, Shawn carried me up the stairs, just like he said he would, and he took care of me until he had to leave for tour, but by then I was all better. Shawn and I never spoke of that fight ever again, and we were happy again.
