Shawn's P.O.V

Finally getting Y/N out of the tower was so exciting. She was so energetic about everything, at first I didn't believe her that she hadn't been outside the tower, but then I figured it out when everything was so exciting for her.

She wanted me to take her to see the floating lights. I guess they showed up every year on her birthday. Finally making it to the little boat I had waiting for us I smiled and helped Y/N in.

Sitting across from her I towed us out to the middle of the lake and just sat waiting for the lanterns to light up the sky.

"I'm so excited! Thank-you so much for taking me out here Shawn" Y/N smiled.

"your welcome! i'm glad I could get you out of that tower!"

Seeing the first lantern go up into the night sky I watched as her eyes lit up. She went over closer to the back end of the boat and helped one of the lanterns back up into the sky.

I just stared at her intently as she took in all the light around her. I loved this girl and we had only spent a few days together, but I felt like I had known her my whole life.

"Shawn! Look!" she pointed to two of the lanterns that were floating around together.

Turning to see I looked out and I could see all the beauty around me. I knew why Y/N was loving this.

"This is so beautiful" she sighed while sitting next to me.

"just like you" I said.

She looked up at me and I could see pink tinting her cheeks she was blushing.

"can I kiss you?" I asked.

"yes!"

Gently pulling her face closer to mine I leaned down and pressed my lips gently against hers. It was a short and sweet kiss but I could tell that it wouldn't be the last one.

"Thank you for all of this!" she leaned her head into me.
