I thought I should explain why its been a while since I wrote. Sometimes, writers go through phases of writing loads, then go through a time where they struggle to write at all, and that's what happened recently.

I'm gonna obvs keep this book going till the end, but I'll be more focused on my other book just for a while, so this will be updated but less often.

I will still write all pending requests, but requests are closed for the moment ❤

Aleksa's POV

Hello, my name is Aleksa and I'm an aspiring singer. Recently, I won a competition where I get to present an award to Shawn at the American Music Awards, and then I get to perform a song infront of him!

I was so excited as Shawn Mendes is one of my favourite singers and I would love to sing a song for him. I've decided to sing Fallin All In You (my fave off the new album❤) as it showcases my vocal range.

Currently, I'm choosing a dress to wear to the awards show.

I'm just applying my lipstick when I get a call from the taxi driver telling me that he was here.

"Come on Y/F/N! We are gonna be late!" Y/F/N and I had been best friends since we were 7, so it made sense that she was my date.

We go as fast as we can into the taxi and buckle up.

"Are you excited?" Y/F/N asks, smiling.

"Yeah but I'm so nervous. Like what if I mess up?"

"You won't mess up Aleksa, don't worry." Y/F/N comforts me during the car ride, easing my nerves.

We get to the venue and I'm shown to the stage; I'd be presenting the Best Male award to Shawn, and it was going to be presented straight after Shawn opened the show. I missed his performance as I was being escourted to the stage.

"And now, here to present the award for Best Male is our competition winner Aleksa!" The voiceover announces, and I walk onto the stage, the crown cheering for me.

"Hi everyone, hope you're having a good day. I'm Aleksa, and I'm honoured to present the American Music Award for Best Male. The nominees are..." I pause for a second to allow the video for the nominees to come on.

"Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth, Harry Styles and Drake!" (I made that up according to who I could think of the quickest lol)

The video stops and the spotlight falls on me.

"And the winner is..." I open the envelope, despite knowing that Shawn had won already. "Shawn Mendes!"

There is a huge cheer from the audience, and the camera flips to Shawn, who is currently hugging his manager. He begins walking to the stage, me getting more and more nervous and excited as I'd be meeting him.

"Hi how are you?" He says, but I can't hear him because of the noise. He gives me a quick hug, then I pass him the award.

It's my cue to go backstage and get ready for my performance. I'd be performing backstage to Shawn and his management.

I keep the same outfit on but decide to let my hair down, throwing it behind my shoulders.

The door opens and in walks Shawn, followed by Andrew and Zubin.

"Hey, how are you?" Shawn asks again, giving me another hug.

"Nervous." I giggle.

"That's good. It shows that you care. Just take a few deep breaths before you begin honey."

I listen to his advice and take a deep breath.

I open my eyes after closing them for the last few lines of the song. Shawn has a huge smile on his face, and gets up to hug me.

"That was incredible, thank you." He smiles, pulling away from the hug.

Andrew then approaches me.

"I have a suggestion. How would you like to have a record deal?"

I pinch myself as I thought I was dreaming.

"Y... yes that would be amazing. Thank you!" I shake his hand, a huge smile on my face.

"How about I take you for dinner tonight? Get to know you a little more." Shawn suggests.

"That'd be nice. Thanks." I was so happy by the way the night had gone.
