He turned up his nose. "Okay? Then what do you call this?"

"Y'all are a mess and super weird." He glanced around. "We're the dog?" He called out her name.

Janet glanced at me. "I haven't seen her since I woke this morning." She said.

We threw on some clothes and checked everywhere in the apartment.

"She was just here earlier." Janet said as we began to retrace our steps.

"We opened the door a few times. She must have ran out. Shit!" I said in a panic.

"Well that just means she is loose in the building. Lets go walk around the halls. She has to be somewhere close." Gil said. "Come on, we'll find her."

We looked around for two hours, inside and outside with no luck. I was worried about her. I paced back and forth on the phone while talking to Dani.

I explained that Kaz had gotten out somehow and promised to do everything I could to find her. When I hung up the phone I slouched into the couch.

"We'll find her Shawn, someone probably already has." Janet said.

"Yeah But she didn't have her collar on. I'd taken it off after her walk this morning because I'd planned on giving her a bath." I shook my head. "What if we don't find her J?"

Gil sat down and hugged me. "Janet is right. We'll find her babe, but right now, I need you girls to get ready. We have rehearsals in an hour and a half. We have to come back to this later okay?" Gil looked at me. He was always so sweet and always there for us.

Janet and I hurried to get ready and we headed down to the car. As we walked out the door, I couldn't help but notice Amelia standing across the street. She was holding Kaz and walking towards us.

"Take Janet to the car Gil." I said. "Now please." Gil took Janet's hand and without saying a word they walked away. Janet looked at me over her shoulder, worry filled her eyes. "I'm good boo, I'll be right there." I said just as Amelia approached me.

"Amelia." I said.

"Hey Shawnette. I promise I'm not here to cause any problems. I was just driving past and this lil lady was walking in the street. I figured someone might know who she belongs to."

"She's with me actually." I said, feeling embarrassed. "I'm giving her a home for a little while, and she got out accidentally." I said and took her from from Amelia's arms.

"Does she have a name or should I just call her dog?" She joked.

"Her name is Kaz." I said finally.

Amelia smiled. "Very cool name you got there Kaz." She said and rubbed her under the chin. "She seems like a great dog. I'm sure you'll find her a home soon."

"Thanks for helping her. I really appreciate it." I said.

"It was no problem at all. She's a sweetheart." She said petting her one more time. "I see you and Janet are still going strong." She said nodding her head in the direction of Gil's car. I didn't respond. "You know it wasn't me that put out those videos and pictures on her Shawn. I was just so hurt and angry that I wanted you to think that I did. I'm sorry for any trouble I've caused you guys." She said.

"Okay." I said. I didn't know what she wanted me to say, because I definitely didn't believe her. There was an awkward silence.

"I hope she is treating you well, because you really do deserve it. Anyways, I better get going. Enjoy your day." She said and walked away.

I stood there for a moment trying to process the brief encounter but Kaz wiggled in my arms bringing me back from my thoughts. I quickly took her upstairs, put her in her cage and headed for the car.

We were the last to make it into rehearsals but once we got there, we started right away. I couldn't take my eyes off Gil this particular day. He was always incredible but the kid was on fire. He was even helping the others with some of the harder combos.

"Janet come here for a minute." I called out to her. "We should make Gil a lead choreographer for this tour. He has grown so much. I think he's ready J."

She looked at me smiled. "Can we tell him now?" She said excitedly.

"Why don't you go and give him the good news."

I smiled as she jogged over to him, pulled him to the side and whispered in his ear. He began to jump up and down. She pointed at me and he ran in my direction and jumped into my arms. I laughed picking him up and swung him around.

After things calmed again, I thought it would be a good idea to let him lead the rest of rehearsals. Afterwards, everyone just kind of hung out around the studio for a while.

I glanced around the room, looking for Janet and then looked over at Gil. He shrugged. I walked into the bathroom and could hear her talking. I stopped at the door.

"Yes I got it. It's beautiful, thank you." She was holding a shimmering bracelet in her hand. "But you really shouldn't be sending me things Jermaine." She said. "I'm in the middle of rehearsals still. Can I call you later?"

The door squeaked and I walked into the restroom and right up to her. I pulled her to me gently, trying to play it off.

"Let's go to my place." I whispered and smiled.

"I gotta go." She said, hung up the phone and shoved the bracelet into her pocket.

"Can we play another time? I'm kind of tired. We had a long night and an even longer day." She asked and kissed my nose.

"Yeah of course." I couldn't hide my disappointment so I didn't try. I just gave her a kiss on the cheek and headed back out to the dance floor.

As I grabbed my things and looked over to see Kelly and Gil still dancing. Everyone else had already left for the day.

She looked over at me, smiled and walked towards me.

"Your legs are gonna fall off girl." I joked.

"Gotta make sure it's tight." She said.

Janet walked out of the restroom and began getting her bag together. I could feel her gaze.

"Anyways" Kelly continued. "I was going to get a drink and I was hoping that you might join me." She asked sweetly.

Gil looked at me and shook his head and then pretended to keep dancing as Kelly looked back him. I thought about Janet and JD as I glanced at her. Her back was turned to us and though she was just across the room I'm not sure we could be heard over the music still paying.

"Yeah why not. I'd love to." I finally said.

"Really? That's awesome. I brought extra clothes. Let me go jump in the shower. I will be out in 15 minutes max."

I smiled. "Take your time, I need to freshen up and get ready too."

Kelly smiled, grabbed her things and headed for the bathrooms.

Gil slapped me on the arm. "You sure that was a good idea after today." He whispered.

"Am I suppose to stop my life? I'm not doing that anymore Gil. If she wants to have fun, we can, but that doesn't mean that I'm gonna just sit around and wait for her to choose me."

I grabbed my bag and headed for the showers. Janet walked over to me and stopped me at the door.

"Hey Shawn. I thought about it. I would like to come home with you tonight." She said getting closer to me. She smiled and played with the curls on the nap of my neck.

"I actually just made plans. Kelly asked me out for a drink." I said.

"Oh okay, no that's fine." She said. I could hear the disappointment in her voice.

"I'm sure she would love for you to join us though." I said.

Gil walked over to us. "Y'all making plans like I'm not standing here." He said and took Janet's hand. "Lets have girl night, just us. We can go to my place, I'll let you sit on my furry ball chairs." He said batting his eye lashes.

Janet laughed, her eyes were glossed over as she smiled. "I'd like that Gil, thank you." She glanced back at me again. "Can I call you later?"

I smiled. "I'd like that." I said and held up my pinky. "Promise?

"Promise." She said and hooked hers in mine. She leaned in and kissed my lips. "Talk to you later beautiful." She said.

"Okay."

I watched them leave the studio and then headed into the showers.

I stopped.

Kelly was standing at one of the lockers naked. She looked up from her phone and smiled. She sat it down and turned to walk towards the showers. She looked over her shoulder at me.

"Coming?" She asked.
