Chapter 7
"Crystal?"
That is the first voice I hear as I start to wake up my crying induced slumber. I rub my sleep filled eyes, trying to rub the tiredness out of them.
"Crystal, are you awake?" says the voice again.
"Yeah, yeah I am awake . I say still half asleep.
"Yeah sure, that is why your eyes are starting to drop." Says the voice, dripping with sacrasm. "That is totally a sign of concious people."
Sarcastic much?
"Okay, look I am awake for real now. See?" I utter while getting up from where I was laying and opening my eyes fully to see a masculine face looking straight at me with amazing intense green eyes.
"Crystal?" said the boy in front of me. Who is he?
Suddenly all the memories of him comes back. Durante, Jax Durante.
"Jax, hi." I say cheerily while smiling. All of a sudden, I look around me and realize that I am not in the hospital, where I feel asleep but instead somewhere else. "Oh and by the way, where am I?" I add in.
At this, Jax starts to startch the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Well, about that. I didn't know where you lived and neither did I want to leave you at the hospital, so I took you back to my house." He muttered while looking at my forehead instead of my eyes. Almost as if he was worried that I was angry, he rushed out "I hope that was okay. I just didn't want to wake you up. You look cute when you sleep, like an angel." Then having doubts said "I didn't mean to make that sound so stalkerish, it's just tha_"
"Jax," I say slowly, as if I am talking to a small child. "It's chill." I laugh. " I'm happy that you cared about me enough to actually bring me here so thank you." I say gratefully gazing straight into his electric green eyes.
Jax gazes back into my own ocean like eyes with an intensity that hits me. Hard. Hypnotised, I continue to stare at back into his electrifying eyes, lavishing at the pure emotions filled in them.
RING!
The sound of my phone fills the once intense filled silence room with a loud blaring sound, leaving me dizzy at the suddenness of the sound. I continue to stare into Jax's eyes for a few more moments before collecting my senses. Quickly I rummage through my bag, searching frantically for my phone so I can stop the blaring sound from ringing on.
"Crystal," Jax calls out in a humoured voice.
"Yeah?" I say half-heartedly, not paying much attention to what he is saying.
"You're phone is on the table by the bed, so in other words right next to you." He says smiling. Trying-but failing horribly - to stop the laughter from spilling from his upturned lips.
"Oh", I whisper, biting my lip embarrassed. "Um yeah, I'll just get that then." Just as my pale ice cold fingers pick up the phone, the ringing stops, leaving us once again in deafening silence. " Oh." I say awkwardly. " I'll just call them back later."
"Okay." Utters Jax, obviously enjoying my awkward state.
"Can you stop it."
"Stop what my Crystal?" Jax says no longer trying to hide his laughter.
Annoyed, I say,"Stop laughing at me you idiot."
"Me? Laugh at you? Never!" Exclaims Jax jokingly. Placing one of his hands over his heart he exclaims shocked. " How could you ever think that'll I would do such a thing?"
Giggling slightly at Jax's antics, I decide to play along. I gasp in horror. "You're right, how could I think of such a thing? You would never do that, not even in a billion years."
"Exactly, Crystal, exactly."
We both look at each other, locking eyes and after a few seconds we begin to laugh uncontrollably. We laugh and laugh until no sound seems to be coming from our mouths but just a searing pain from too much laughter piercing our stomachs.
After a few minutes we finally somber up from all the laughter and just sit in the floor still clutching our stomachs after the workout they have just endured.
"I haven't laughed like that in a very long time, so thanks I guess." I whisper kind grateful, not wanting to disturb the calming yet comforting silence which was blanketing the room like how snow blankets the ground during winter.
Jax turns his head towards me and gives me a lopsided toothy grin, which makes my heart flutter and my insides turn out of shire and pure delight. "That's good to hear." He whispers back with a tone of truly happy person.
"Yeah, it really is." I say happy.
There may be lot of bad things happening in my life right now, but if there was any good thing to come out of this, it is him.
It's Jax.
