Chapter Ten

A/n: A wild update has appeared! Sorry for the short one.

Fingolfin grunted and held his side looking up as he saw Melkor raise his let up. This was it. Yet, an arrow suddenly shot from the side and hit his leg. Melkor turned as a voice filled the air, "Really? You don't have the strength to kill him by your own hand? Figures."

"You!" Melkor barked turning to face Vórimarac who stood there sliding his bow away and drawing his sword.

"I thought you hated them," Melkor said. "You-"

"Oh shut up," Vórimarac said as he swung his twin blades around. He then looked at Melkor and said, "Now why don't you face me at a normal level or is the great Melkor too scared for that?"

Fingolfin gripped his side and slowly moved to the side. He looked at Vórimarac and noted the bloodlust that filled his eyes as he walked forward. Suddenly Melkor was at his normal human size and scoffed. "You are foolish, you do know what-"

Yet he was cut short as Vórimarac shot at him and slashed his sword across Melkor's face causing him to stumble back a few steps. He then shot at him again not allowing Melkor a moment to recover. He moved quickly out of the way dodging an attack. Before he ran forward once more swing one blade low and then high. Melkor blocked the attacks but missed Vórimarac's leg which swung up hitting him in an unpleasant place. Once Melkor stagged back Vórimarac spun around and kicked Melkor in the side of the head.

Vórimarac then turned and whistled his horse rode over quickly stoping by Fingolfin. "Go," He ordered. Fingolfin opened his mouth to protest but Vórimarac cut him off. "Go you, idiot! You are going to die anyway from that wound. Might as well live long enough to say goodbye to that son of yours who is as stubborn as anything."

He then turned and charged at Melkor. Fingolfin closed his mouth and slowly got onto the horse and rode off. Vórimarac shook his head and turned back to Melkor and clenched his sword. Melkor recovered from this attack and looked at him with rage.

"You are a traitor! Why help those elves who betrayed you!?"

"You seem to forget something Melkor," Vórimarac said. "They didn't really betray me. They are just cowards, nothing more. Besides I did not betray you,  I did tell you that if someone gave me a better deal than I will take that. Now I hate this pointless chatter. Besides....you made me into this. Let's see you deal with those consequences."

Both Melkor and Vórimarac stood bloodied and wounded. Vórimarac was holding his arm and ignoring the stream of blood that ran down his face. He moved his arm then charged at Melkor. Yet, a stream of fire stopped him, he turned and saw Mairon.

"Enough," Mairon ordered.

"I can take him!" Melkor growled.

"My lord. Allow me to finish this," Mairon said turning to Vórimarac who turned to face him and staggered. He knew that he should be dying soon, he was bleeding out and he felt his arm numb. He also could see how his vision was slowly fading, yet he heard a familiar bell sound from somewhere behind him.

A flash of light exploded between him and the other two. Nahtar dropped to the ground beside him and looked at him.

"Come on, it doesn't last that long." She said and hoised Vórimarac arm over her shoulder and helped him limp off. They got behind a rock where a horse was waiting for them. She helped him on and got on before him and rode off.

"What are you doing here?" He asked looking at her between breaths.

"Saving your life apparently," She replied.

He glared slightly.

"Fine. I was hired to steal something from Mairon. I got it and on my way out I saw you getting into a dead battle with those two. Now, what in the world happened?" She asked and turned to look at him but he was slumped against her unconscious.
