*beeping from the alarm*
"Uggh its 5:00am already?Time for me to do the chores."

I got out of bed,put on a rather uncomfortable maid outfit and started to clean the mansion.Cleaned all of the dishes,and did the laundry by 7:00am.

This means my only friend is up now.She is also a maid like me and we share the same pain.Her name is Cheri.
We both had a dream of escaping this place,and today is the day.

"Hey (Y/N),did master and mistress get up yet?Or is that at 8:00?"She said with worry in her eyes.

"That's at 8:00.We should make breakfast at 7:30."

I was older than her,me being 18and protected her from punishment everyday.She is only 12 and punishment for her would be brutal.I have a lot of scars on my back and thighs because of it.

I grabbed a blanket from my room and cut it in two.I put some food,clothes,and a  necklace with a glass heart from my past.

Cheri packed food,clothes, and a stuffed bunny that she kept at all times.I placed the sacks of stuff in the cabinet in the kitchen,closest to the door.

At 10:00am is when mistress and master take a bath.We will escape then.The cameras will catch us but it's fine.Anything to escape this nightmare.

8:00am

"Hmm something smells good.MAIDS.Get over here right now!"

Oh no.Did I forget to do something?
I quietly walked up to the mistresses door and waited.Cheri was right next to me.What was she going to do to us?

"You can come in."

We walked in and mistress shot us a sadistic smile.

"One of you brats forgot to wash my husband's coat.Who forgot?"

Oh no.I know it wasn't me but I need to protect Cheri.

"I did it."

"Cheri!You know I did that!Don't take the blame!"

"So Cheri,was it you?And (Y/N) lying is bad.So I can punish you extra today."

"Yes ma'am it was me."

Cheri........What was she thinking?We have to escape today!If she gets punished then she might blow the whole thing.

"Your master got some new toys for me to punish you brats with."

She pulled out a whip and 2 pairs of handcuffs.She handcuffed Cheri to a wall and me onto a bed.

"Ok who wants to go first?How about you Cheri!It is your first time being punished after all."

"Yes ma'am."

"I want to ruin that pretty soft skin so bad Cheri.You have no idea."

I couldn't move off the bed but I saw her smirk before she started whipping her relentlessly.

I could see the clothing she had on was getting torn to shreds,and marks were on her abdomen.

I looked at the clock on the wall.9:00am

I looked back at Cheri who had tears in her eyes and her body was starting to go limp and lifeless.

"Mistress please!I will take Cheri's punishment!Just don't hurt her anymore!"

"Oh is the little (Y/N) worried for her?You want to be punished you slut?"
A smile crept on her face as she walked toward me still handcuffed helplessly to the bed.

As it hurt my pride to say yes, I had to or Cheri would be punished.

"Yes mistress."

"Very well than."

She walked back over to Cheri,took off the handcuffs,and ordered her to finish breakfast.

She whipped me,slapped me and tortured me for half an hour before she stopped.

My vision was blurry and my limbs were weak.But I had to do this.

"MAID!"

"Come in."

Cheri walked in wearing a new set of maid clothes.

"Now please wake master up and prepare a bath.You two can go eat as we bathe."

Yes!This was all worth it!When they go bath,then we can escape!

She took off my handcuffs and I went to my room to change.

Cheri went downstairs to start eating.

"Hey there (Y/N)."

Oh dear god that's master's voice.

"Can you prepare the bath for me and mistress?"

"Of course sir.But I need to get changed first,my clothes have torn."

"Are you disobeying orders?"

"No sir."

"SO GET TO IT."

I walked to the bathroom wearing my torn maid outfit and prepared the bath.

Master got in and mistress appeared in a minute.

"Hello honey,you had a good rest?"

"Yes it was fine.I just need a bath."

"(Y/N).You can go eat now."

This is it.I went downstairs to see Cheri done eating and reaching for her sack.

The clock read 10:00am sharp.We both got our sacks and began to tip toe out the door when we heard a beeping sound.

An alarm system.

"CHERI RUN!THEY ARE COMING NOW!"
I grabbed Cheri's arm and pulled her outside before slamming the door.

"HONEY THE ALARM IS ON!THE MAIDS!"Mistress shrieked from the other side.

We both dashed out the door,into the real world  for the first time.Wait.No time to think,just running.

"We can do it Cheri!We are going to make it!"

"I'm scared (Y/N)!They are trying to get is now!"

I looked back to see master,on the balcony,with a sniper rifle.

"CHERI WE HAVE TO RUN FASTER!"

"ok...."

A shot rang past my ear and one tore through Cheri's skirt.

Another grazed my arm causing it to bleed.

But the 4th shot hit Cheri directly in the leg,stopping her from moving.

"CHERI!"

I picked her up bridal style and started running again.

There was a forest we could go through only about 30 feet away.

Blood was staining both our outfits but it didn't matter.

Another shot hit me in my foot,causing me to drop Cheri in front of me.

I struggled to move toward Cheri and pick her up again but another bullet came by and hit my hand.

So much blood.Everywhere.Tears were in my eyes as I saw another bullet go past me.

And go right into Cheri's head.

She lay on the grass lifeless as I picked her up and started to do a half limp run to the forest.

"Cheri?We are both getting out of here together right?This was our dream!We can do it just stay with me!"

We made it to the forest.

Master stopped shooting at us and went inside.

"(Y/N)...."

She coughed up blood as she spoke.

"Cheri!Please don't speak!Im hurting too but don't die on me!We made it!"

"Th-anks.........for........saving.....me.......all those.....times.....but....some........things...are meant.......to happen....."

Her eyes went blank and she smiled at me.

"Cheri!I can still save you!Dont leave me here!"

"See....you.....again......."

Her pulse went dead.The blood drained from her face.

"Cheri?Cheri?CHERI!"

Tears were falling from my face like a water fall.She was gone from my life forever.

But I still picked up our stuff and carried on.Our dream won't die here dammit!

My best and only friend.....the only one I could trust.....

"IS GONE FOREVER!!"

I screamed at the top of my lungs.

The pain was close to unbearable.The wounds weren't healing well either.I ran through the forest for who knows how long when I found a park.

There was a bench,So I took out Cheri's things,put them in my sack and used her's as a tiny blanket.

This was the end for me.I was going to see Cheri in a little bit anyway.In a different place far from here.

I closed my eyes and tears started to flow again at the pain in my hand and foot.Blood was pooling under the bench.Oh well.

Before I drifted off I heard a voice and footsteps.

Oh great.Its master or mistress here to finish me off.Well at least I can get out of this nightmare of a life.

"Oh my goodness!Are you ok?I will take you to the hospital right now!"

It was a man's voice.I couldn't open my eyes but I knew it wasn't master's voice.

Maybe I have a chance at life.

After all my glass heart.....

is like shattered glass.
