Chapter 8: The Masquerade Ball
Annabel's POV
I woke and sat up straight, heart pounding. I looked at the other side of the bed and saw Raven, fast asleep. I quickly got dressed quietly and ran to the garden. I found a bench in the middle of the garden and sat down. Soon, Raven arrived and sat down next to me. "What's wrong, Annabel? You look worried." I shook my head and smiled. "Oh, don't worry about me! I'm fine!" Raven looked like she didn't believe me but she pretended to. "Oh, alright..if you say so..." She got up and began to leave, but she stopped. Looking at me, she said,"By the way, Ciel wants us to go to his office after breakfast."

Ciel's POV
After breakfast, I headed to the office with Raven and Annabel walking behind me. They both sat down on two chairs and I went behind my desk and sat down. "So," I said,"I know you both were supposed to leave the manor today, but I decided to have a masquerade ball. Would both of you like to attend?" The girls looked at each other and then at me. "Sure.." Annabel said, sounding slightly worried. "If you both need costumes, don't worry about it. My personal tailor, Nina, can make you costumes if you like." "Ok....Thank you." Raven said.
*Time Skip to the masquerade ball*
Raven's POV
Annabel and I were getting ready for the masquerade ball in our room, even though it already started a few minutes ago. "Well, what do you think, Raven?" Annabel said nervously, stepping out of the bathroom. I smiled and said,"You look lovely Annabel." For the ball, I was a pirate and Annabel was a sea princess. She wore a dress that was sea foam green at the top but became pastel teal at the bottom. She wore a pearl necklace and small tiara and her hair were loose curls hanging down her back. "Oh my!" Annabel exclaimed,"You look amazing!!" I wore a thin, black leather jacket with five gold buttons on each side. Underneath the jacket, I had a thin, cotton white dress and a dark brown corset outside of my dress. I also wore a brown leather belt and a black eyepatch over my left eye. Nina also forced me to wear a pirate hat. Before we went to the ballroom, Annabel grabbed her light blue mask. Then we went downstairs and into the ballroom.
After a little while at the party, there was a loud BANG! Everyone turned to the direction of the sound. At the door, there were two figures, one short and the other tall. The short one stepped forward into the ballroom. "SURPRISE BITCHES!!!" He roared. I looked over at Ciel, who looked as if he were ready to kill the boy. The boy went up to him and said with a smug grin,"Hello, Ciel. Missed me??" Ciel snorted. "Miss you? More like throwing a party that you weren't invited too! How did you even know about the party?!" I went up to Ciel and asked him,"Ciel, who the hell is this bloody brat?" The boy pouted. "How dare you call me a bloody brat?!" He screamed at me. "I am Alois Trancy, head of the.." I interrupted him. "I'm sorry, I believe I was talking to Ciel, not you!" I could tell Ciel was trying very hard not to smile. Alois huffed and said in a rude voice,"And who the bloody hell are you?!" I smirked. "Do you think I would tell you, Alois Trancy?" My voice dripped with menace. He started to back up slowly, and bumped into Sebastian. "I am so sorry," Sebastian said with fake enthusiasm,"but I cannot allow an uninvited pest, I mean guest, into this masquerade ball." He picked Alois up and Alois began to squirm. "Hey!! Let me go, you filthy butler!!" He yelled at Sebastian. Sebastian looked at everyone else and said,"Everyone, continue to enjoy yourselves at this ball." Most of the guests resumed to what they were doing. I, however, followed Sebastian out of the ball room. I saw the other man follow both of them. "Please give me back my master." The man said. Sebastian smirked. "Then go catch him..." To my surprise, he grabbed Alois by the arm and threw him out of the manor. His butler chased Alois and Sebastian yelled to them,"Please, never interfere when you're not invited to someplace." He shut the door and saw me with a shocked look on his face. "Miss, please head back to the ballroom." I huffed, then flounced into the ballroom. Wait, where was Annabel? I soon got my answer when I looked out the window. On a bench, writing on a piece of paper, was Annabel. I let out a deep breath and decided to leave her alone. Soon, people started to dance. I felt a light tap on my shoulder and I looked up, seeing Sebastian. "What do you want?" I snapped. He pretended to look surprised, then held out his hand. "Would you like to dance with me, milady?" I rolled my eyes, then took his hand. "Whatever." I muttered while Sebastian lead me to the center of the room.
Annabel's POV
After Sebastian left with Alois, I decided to go to the garden to clear my mind. I had a piece of paper with me and decided to write a small message. While I was writing, I didn't notice something walking up to me. The person cleared their throat. I looked up from the paper, and there, in the flesh, was Arabella.
