Chapter 17: The Memories
Raven's POV
When I pretended to go to sleep, Annabel quietly got out of bed and left the room. I noticed she did this every night but never told me. I decided to follow her to see what was going on. I also grabbed my sword, just in case. I crept a few feet behind Annabel and she went into the garden. 'Why would she go to the garden in the nighttime?' I wondered. Looking into the garden, I saw Annabel talking to a tall woman who was wearing a lot of white. An angel... I thought she despised angels!! I quickly entered the garden, hiding the sword behind my back, pretending I had just woken up. Yawning, I said,"Annabel, what are you doing out here in the middle of the night?" I saw the person that Annabel was talking to was definitely an angel. "And who the hell is that?!" I exclaimed.
Annabel looked upset and stood right of the angel. "This is Arabella, an angel who saved me from my death when I was younger!" I softened a little. I looked at Arabella, who was beginning to stand up. "Thank you, for saving my friend." She smiled, then put her hand on Annabel's shoulder. "You must be Raven, the girl who was in the garden earlier." I began to blush, remembering what James did for me. "So, I'm guessing you saw that?" I muttered. She nodded, then began to laugh. "I'm surprised that you and James are not a couple yet! You two would be a good couple!" I blushed even more. "How did you know his name?" She said, quietly,"I heard you say his name when he gave you the crown of roses." Arabella then looked at me weird. "What are you hiding behind your back, Raven?" 'Damn, what should I do? She looks trustworthy, but I'm not certain if she's a friend...' I thought to myself slowly. I then looked at Annabel, who nodded her head as if to say 'she's trustworthy'. I slowly brought out my sword from behind me. Arabella's eyes widened, then exclaimed,"I knew it! You are a demon hunter!!" Confused, I asked,"How did you know I was a demon hunter?" She looked at Annabel, who also looked equally confused. "Annabel, dear, I would like to speak with Raven in private for a little bit. Do you mind if you stepped outside of the garden?" Annabel slowly nodded, realizing that this was a serious talk. She left the garden and then Arabella looked at me. "I could tell that you are a demon hunter because of your sword. Tell me, are you The Hybrid?" I tightened the grip on my sword, glaring at her. "Are you trying to convince me to choose the angel side?!" She shook her head, saying,"No, of course not. I am not one of those imbeciles who are trying to force you to choose a side faster. I was just merely curious." I loosened my grip a little. "I'm still not ready to choose," I whispered,"I don't know which side I would belong best in..." She gave me a small sad smile. "It is entirely up to you. Do not let others make your choice for you." I nodded slowly. Arabella looked deep in thought. "If it's alright with you, can you show me what your angel side looks like? I've always wondered what you looked like as an angel." I bit my bottom lip. "Um.......I guess so....but I honestly don't know how to summon my angel side.." I said. "Just think of your best and happiest memories. That might work." I closed my eyes, trying to think of some of the best memories I had. I thought of the time when I first met Annabel and James putting the crown on top of my head. I smiled, then opened my eyes. Instead of my nightgown, I now wore a long white dress with a light blue silk belt and heels. I saw my hair was now white but had streaks of light blue in it. I wondered if my eyes were still the same color. "What color are my eyes?" I asked Arabella. "Your eye color is now a very light blue. Raven, you look beautiful." I checked if I had wings or not. Arabella, noticing this, said,"Since you're a hybrid and not a full angel, you won't get wings immediately." I nodded, slowly grinning. "So this is what I look like as an angel.."
