For You

I stomp to my car and glare at Rickelle when I find him staring at me.

Nathan would be so heartbroken if I tell him this. Oh, and Soraya. Poor, poor Soraya. I'll visit her tomorrow seeing as I have plans tonight with Nathan.

I begin my drive to Manhattan,  it's been nearly two months since I'd last been to work. Like physically . I somehow miss the simplicity of my life before Nathan. Although, not entirely as I truthfully enjoy having him around.

Soft music is playing through the speakers. It takes a few seconds for me to realise that the soft melody is a Kenny Lattimore song.

All I am is for you.

He says and my heart swells. For you, it's been a while since I heard the song.

Back in high school, when the song was still new to our ears, my parents would play it

On Sunday evenings right after my mother's desserts. They would be in the backyard deck. Swaying from side to side. Adoring each other.

My dad would always step on my mother's feet by mistake but they'd laugh at it.

I longed for a love like that everytime I saw them. The way my father could read my mother. Those two barely had to say anything to each other, just their eyes communicated volumes.

I smile to myself as the melody concludes. It's nice to actually listen to music and not feel sad.

A few songs later, I'm parking the car by Arraine's offices. I step into the building.

The security guy standing by the door is staring at me, and then at the car that I press closed. I notice a few teenage boys that I gawking at it as well. I smile.

The attention this early morning is lovely.

The traffic this morning was that bad, so I arrived here at about one in the afternoon after that nonsense of a brunch.

I step into the office and immediately eyes land on me.

The receptionist,  Mrs Kingston, actually takes a few moments to gape at my appearance.

I only give her a kurt nod. She returns it. Walking further in, I pass by the studios.  Camera men are shooting pictures of different models and when they see me they stop and stare at me.

One of the journalist smirks. Literally.

I knock on Arraine's door.

When I push myself into the office, my jaw almost drops.

Arraine has a little bump on her belly.

A gasp echoes through the room, which causes her to smile crazily.

"Gemma, it's been such a long time." She says walking over to embrace me.

She kisses both my cheeks and I do the same.

"Arraine,  and you're a mom to be?" I ask smiling.

She returns the smile and nods. She looks absolutely shiny. Like she is glowing.

We sit and chat for two hours. Before the conversation heads a direction I am not quiet ready for.

"So Nathan?" She asks, sending me suggestive looks.

"What about him?" I ask smiling. Although I know exactly what she's going to say.

"How is he?" She asks almost folding her arms over her little belly.

"He is fine." I say smiling again.

"Come on, you don't expect me to eat that up?" She pushes.

"Fine, he is probably the most caring man I've ever met. He loves my son like he is his own. He literally plays with my child. He takes me out on ice cream dates and dinner dates. Then he does things like yell compliments as I walk out the door. " I say.

I feel myself sinking deeper into telling her about the man.

Mr Meyer. The said business man.

"He tells me everything. And he encourages me to tell him as well. He cares for Charlotte and Mrs Hart as if they're his real family. The bond they have is very tight. He cooks and sometimes he sings." I chuckle at the horrible voice.

Then I remember his shower albums.

They are the most adorable. I find myself smiling.

"I love the songs he sings in showers. And the songs he plays in his car when we're going somewhere. I love his snuggly clothes   and the way he is so family orientated." I take a breathe.

Reminiscing about the little things.

Mr Meyer.

"I absolutely adore how much he works hard. His boyish grin. The way he looks at me with so much hope in his eyes, it's such a childish hope, but I adore it. And the time he spends me–"

"Oh! I knew it!" Arraine says clapping hands.

I stare at her like she's grown a third head. She already had a second one.

"Knew what?" I ask.

"Oh nothing. I am sworn to secrecy. " she says play zipping her mouth.

I chuckle. Soon its time for me to head home.

The drive is nerve wracking,  from the accidents to the accident on the side of the highway.

I'm almost irritated when I see the familiar road towards the apartment.

To my surprise, Nathan is seating on the short wall that homes very gorgeous daffodils.  Why didnt I see those when we moved here ?

He looks excited. Its adorable.

"Hey." I say once I facade the car. He smiles and stands.

"You need to give me a spare key." He says.

I chuckle and I make a mental note to do so.

He hands me a silver cold metal, which he is smiling brightly to.

"What's this" I ask. He smiles.

"Its your key to the house." He says chuckling.

"Thank you." I tell him.

I open the apartment door and let him in, while unloading the few things I'd purchased into the fridge.

I head out to park the car in the garage and then I shower. Changing into a blue demin and black shirt with Van's.

This is those times where I dress my age.

"Come on let's go." He pulls me.

"Where are we going?" I ask and he chuckles.

When we head out , I notice he had a vintage 1966 black Mustang parked. I almost drool at it. I'm no car person, but the car is sexy.

He drives us to a bar. And when we get there he orders something for the two of us.

I didn't quite hear what he ordered for me, but it was something on the rock.

He hands me the green drink and I put it on my lips. Liking the warm buzz that shoots straight to my head after the burning liquid slides down my throat .

After three glasses of the delicious beverage and two of his own rum. We head to the dance floor.

I sway my large hips on his front as he hold me put.

Our bodies move in sync to the rhythm of the song. Here and there we lean in to get a few words delivered to each others ears due to the noise.

Then they open the floor for karaoke. A couple gets up the stage and starts singing.

As the song goes on, Nathan joins them from behind me.

His arms are snaked behind my back as he sings the melody.

"For you I share the cup of love that overflows
And anyone who knows us knows
I would change all thought I have
For you, there is no high or low or in between
Of my heart that you havent seen
'Cause I share all I have and am
Nothing I've said is hard to understand
All I feel I feel deeper still
And always will

All this love is for you! " He sings with a large smile on his face that melts my heart.

After three more songs from drunken couples , we decide to call Oscar to take us to my apartment. It's only ten when we get there.

I stumble into the kitchen and I make two hot cups of instant coffee.

Which we both gulp down delightfully. Nathan sings the rest of the song in my ear as we sway side to side in my living room.

He dips me and I giggle.

"I love that sound." He whispers.

"All I do, is for you." I whisper back.
