Chapter Twenty Two

"What is she doing?" Natsuo whispered, quite loudly to Fuyumi and Shoto as they peered into the kitchen, finding Kiyo hard at work preparing a picture perfect bento lunch.

"It looks like she's preparing a bento." Fuyumi replied quietly.

"Oh? She have a crush?" Natsuo turned to Shoto. Fuyumi looked at him curiously too. Not that Kiyo would talk to them about it if she had but the elder Todoroki siblings still believed the twins had some kind of twin sense even if there had been no evidence of it in the past.

Shoto shrugged, "I don't know. She didn't want to talk about it."

"Talk about what?" Fuyumi pondered.

"The bag she was trying to hide yesterday." Shoto shrugged.

"Definitely a crush." Natsuo smirked as Kiyo neatly arranged the bento. She made Totoro shaped rice balls and cut carrots into cute little flowers. It looked like it was something one would see in a magazine.

"I'm starting to think so too." Fuyumi smiled, happy her youngest sibling had found someone she liked as she watched Kiyo neatly wrap the Totoro bento box and a pair of sealed Totoro chopsticks in a Totoro wrap.

"Alright, your mission is to find out who it is." Natsuo placed a hand on Shoto's shoulder and fixed him with a serious look.

Shoto frowned, spying on Kiyo didn't sound very safe.

"What's going on?" Endeavor's voice made the three of them jump as he stepped out of the hall and paused as he spotted three of his children acting suspiciously as they all hovered outside the entrance to the kitchen whispering to one another.

Natsuo grumbled something under his breath and ducked away not wanting to be anywhere near their father for longer than was necessary. Shoto remained quiet but stayed in place watching his twin. Fuyumi offered their father a polite smile, "we think Kiyo might have found herself a crush."

"What?" Endeavor frowned and looked into the kitchen. His frown deepened as he noticed Kiyo packing up a bento. She'd never done such a thing before. Finished with her task, she removed the apron she'd been wearing and spent a moment touching up her hair, making sure it was perfect. Did she really have a crush on someone? "Who is it?" He demanded.

"No idea." Fuyumi shrugged.

He looked at Shoto.

Shoto shrugged in response but said nothing.

"Find out." Endeavor fixed Shoto with a serious look.

Shoto frowned but said nothing.

"What's everyone doing?" Kiyo's voice startled the three of them as she found her way blocked by her twin, elder sister and father.

"Nothing." Endeavor said quickly.

"About to make breakfast." Fuyumi replied simultaneously.

"Spying on you." Shoto blurted honestly, causing his father and eldest sister to shoot him dark looks.

Kiyo frowned at her family, "...right..." She squeezed past them and headed for the awaiting car to take her and Shoto to school.

Shoto followed his twin to the car. He kept throwing curious glances her way but she remained ever poised and quiet, staring out the window paying him absolutely no mind. Her phone vibrated and he noticed a small smile spread across her lips as she looked at whatever message she'd gotten. She responded quickly and tucked her phone away, wiping the smile off her face and resuming her staring out the window.

Deciding he wasn't going to get anywhere without inquiring, he spoke up, "who did you make the lunch for?"

"No one." Kiyo replied bluntly, refusing to look in his direction.

"And who were you messaging?" He asked.

"No one." Kiyo replied, her voice taking on a slightly aggressive tone.

Shoto noticed the subtle way her body had grown tense at his question and how rigidly she was sitting. She was lying and it was undoubtedly the same person. "I see."

Kiyo shot him a glare, "what does that mean?"

"Nothing." Shoto shrugged.

Kiyo shot him another scowl and hopped out of the car as it slowed to a stop outside of UA. "It's really none of your business." She huffed, shutting the door in his face.

Shoto sighed and pushed open the door only to frown as he realized Kiyo was already long gone. She was quick and she was definitely acting strangely. He exited the car and slowly made his way to school.

Throughout the day it seemed like Kiyo was avoiding him. Bakugo seemed to be in a horrendous mood. Did something happen during his internship with Kiyo? Shoto thought about it for a long moment, was he the one she had a crush on? He blanched at the thought of Kiyo and Bakugo as a couple, that just seemed like a recipe for disaster.

At lunch he searched the cafeteria desperately for his twin but realized she was missing. It was a nice day out, perhaps she had gone outside. He exited the cafeteria and walked around the grounds in search of his twin. He found her after a ten minute search sitting beneath a tree with one of the girls from her class. She was a petite blonde with tall pointed horns atop her head, and prussian blue eyes.

Kiyo handed over the perfectly wrapped bento, seeming almost shy and a little bit nervous as she did so. There was the faintest splash of pink staining her cheeks. The blonde girl she was sitting with let out a cute squeal and threw her arms around his ever stoic twin. "Thank you Kiyo, it's perfect!"

"Y-you're welcome." Kiyo blushed and hugged the girl back.

Shoto watched wide eyed, Kiyo was blushing! Was that possible? He'd never seen her act so human before. He quickly retreated to give them their privacy. He couldn't believe his twin actually had a crush on someone.
