Chapter Fifteen
Kiyo slept in for the first time in a very long time and headed to the kitchen for breakfast. Nastuo choked on his cereal the moment he spotted her. Her long striking white hair hung loosely down her back, her eyes held a strange glow, her lips were a vibrant blue and there were new piercings adorning her face.
"What..the..hell..happened...to you?!" He asked between coughs as he tried desperately to get his breathing back under control. Cereal in the lungs did not bode well for breathing.
"Try chewing your food not inhaling it." Kiyo quipped, causing him to choke once more.
"D-did you just sass me?" Natsuo asked in awe, not sure if he should be concerned or proud that his robotic little sister seemed to find a personality.
Kiyo went to the kitchen and made herself a cup of coffee. Her father had told them before they weren't allowed to drink it. Fuyumi's eyes grew wide as she spotted Kiyo's new look.
"Kiyo?" Fuyumi asked softly as Kiyo made herself a cup of coffee, "you're not supposed to drink that."
Kiyo shrugged and lifted the mug to her lips.
"Enough." Her father's voice sounded behind her in a snarl of rage. "I've had it with whatever this is." He growled.
Kiyo turned around and looked right through him as she sipped at the dark hot liquid in her mug.
"Kiyo." Her father growled, "that's enough."
Kiyo smirked, and continued sipping at the bitter drink.
Endeavor had no idea what to do, she'd never defied him before. All of this was new. He looked at the piercings on her face and the bright blue lipstick across her lips. "Take those piercings out and wipe that crap off your face."
Kiyo looked confused and finally acknowledged him. "What crap?"
Fuyumi sighed and approached her with a damp paper towel, she rubbed it across Kiyo's lips and gasped as the paper towel froze in her hands. She stared at Kiyo, worriedly. "...it's not makeup..." She placed a hand to Kiyo's forehead. "Kiyo, I think you should lay down."
Kiyo shrugged away from her and set the coffee mug on the counter, "I'm fine."
Fuyumi picked up the mug and turned it over the sink. A frozen chunk of coffee fell into the sink with a loud clunk. She threw a concerned look after Kiyo as she sidestepped her father and exited the kitchen.
Endeavor looked to his youngest child worriedly as he realized she hadn't dyed her hair, it had changed on its own, like Toya's did. "Kiyo?" He reached out and caught her by the wrist. There was a sizzling sound and suddenly steam rose off her skin where he'd made contact due to the heat from his hand making contact with her frozen flesh.
Kiyo wrenched her wrist from his grip and shot him a dark look. Endeavor felt a twinge of numbness on his palm and looked down at his hand where he'd gripped her, it looked like he'd gotten frostbite. He stared after Kiyo as fear and panic gripped his heart. He couldn't let it happen again, he couldn't lose another child.
"Kiyo!" He raced after her but when he got outside the car to take Kiyo and Shoto to school was exiting the driveway.
The car came to a stop outside of UA High School, Kiyo exited the back seat without a word to her twin. Several students stopped and stared as she made her way up the front steps. Some of the boys from Shoto's class fell against one another as they swooned dramatically. She ignored them and headed straight for Classroom 1B.
She pushed the door open and a hush fell on the room before everyone present shouted all at once.
"KIYO?!" Everyone exclaimed.
"Whoa, what happened to your hair?" Komori asked.
"And your eyes?" Honenuki gasped.
"Your lips are still blue, are you okay?" Kendo worried.
"Can we talk about how awesome the piercings are?" Tetsutetsu remarked.
"The whole look is hot." Tokage grinned, a few others nodded their agreement.
Kiyo headed toward her seat feeling somewhat flustered by the attention. The door to the classroom violently swung open causing everyone to jump. Bakugo barreled into the room and scowled at everyone.
"Where is she?!" He growled.
"Who?!" Kendo asked curiously.
"The Icy Hot Bastard's sister, the one I should have fought in the final!" Bakugo snarled.
Everyone pointed at Kiyo and he looked at her as if noticing her for the first time. His crimson eyes widened a fraction at her changed appearance. His words made her breath hitch in her throat. He said she should have been the one in the final.
"I won't be satisfied with winning until I beat you, fight me."
Kiyo rolled her eyes, "not interested." She dropped into her seat behind Pony. Pony turned to her and offered her a bright smile.
"You look so pretty, Kiyo." Pony beamed, "this feels more like you."
Kiyo felt her heart skip a beat at this.
"H-Hey!" Bakugo growled, not liking that everyone was now ignoring him. "I want the final match I was supposed to get!"
"You can want for it all you want, doesn't mean it's going to happen." Kiyo shrugged.
Bakugo shot her one last glare before taking his leave bumping into Monoma on his way in.
"How's that medal feel?" Monoma poked at him, "you know, when you struggled to defeat the weak Todoroki and our Todoroki mopped the floor with him. We all know who the real winner should have been!"
"Monoma!" Kendo reprimanded him and used her quirk to drag him into the room before he could anger Bakugo further.
"What? It's true!" Monoma yelped as Kendo squeezed him in her giant hand. His periwinkle gaze fell on Kiyo and his eyes grew wide. "K-Kiyo?!" There was a faint splash of color staining his cheeks as he stared at her in awe of her new look.
"Looks hot right?" Tokage grinned.
Monoma opened his mouth to reply but no sound came out.
"That's a first." Honenuki snickered, "he's finally quiet."
Mr. Kan stepped into the room as the bell rang, "Monoma why aren't you in your sea-?" He paused as his gaze fell on Kiyo and the vibrant blue of her lips, "Kiyo? Are you alright?"
Kiyo nodded.
He pointed to his own lips and then hair to ask her about hers without asking aloud.
Kiyo let out a soft sigh, "I just woke up like this yesterday."
"Why don't you go see Recovery Girl, just to be safe." He suggested.
"Alright." Kiyo got up from her seat and headed to Recovery Girl's office.
Upon discovering she was cold as ice, her body temperature at an alarming negative two degrees Celsius, the school called her father to come pick her up insisting she go to the hospital. Despite her protests and assurances that she felt fine, Recovery Girl wrapped her in blankets and wouldn't let her out of her sight until her father arrived.
