Rebel Groups in Shatru Sesham
1. Vaithalikkas -: The forest people and original inhabitants of the Sapthagiris and the Gauri Parvat who were driven out of their homes by the dynasty of Somadeva approximately three hundred years ago. They were placated and assimilated into the kingdom of Mahishmati during the reign of Somadeva due to the yeomen efforts of his younger son, Mahadeva, also known as Vikramadeva for his military and physical prowess and the Mahapradhana of Mahishmati, Sivagami. Though they technically come under the kingdom of Mahishmati, in accordance to a treaty, they rule themselves with complete autonomy, pay very nominal taxes to Mahishmati, frame and execute their own laws. Only during times of war, they are expected to provide a contingent of tribal fighters to the army of Mahishmati.

2. Kunthala Group-: A rebel group with their base in the Udayagiri Mountain Range situated in the current eastern borders of Mahishmati and led by Aditya Varma, brother of the deposed and late King of Kunthala, Suryaveera Varma.

3. Prisoners of War-: A group of soldiers led by former Captain Bhairava Varma who served Mahendra Baahubali and were confined to a war concentration camp in the Gauri Parvat. They are trying to establish contact with the outside world and pass on several valuable and vital secrets which will explain several things in this fictional universe and also provide a clue to the downfall of the primary antagonist of this tale, Subahu.

4. Raktabijas-: A highly barbarian cannibalistic race who have been reformed and now owe their allegiance to Bhagiradhi, daughter of Mahendra Baahubali and Avanthika. They smear a secret herbal concoction called Indraneeli on the tips of their weapons that temporarily inhibits and paralyses all the physical movements of the victim.

5. Refugees-: Refugees and runaway soldiers who have escaped and regrouped themselves under Mrithyunjay, the modest, enigmatic and teenage son of captured Captain, Bhairava Varma after the fall of Mahishmati. They owe their allegiance to Bhagiradhi.

6. Shodasi Devi and her Personal Contingent of Soldiers-: After the fall of Vijayapuri, she seeks the help of Mahendra Baahubali to regain her kingdom. But she is again forced to flee and go incognito along with Bhagiradhi after a surprise night attack in which Mahendra and Avanthika are killed. She adopts Bhagiradhi as her own daughter. Both Shodasi and Bhagiradhi take up the assumed names Annapoorna and Aparaajitha, respectively, to protect themselves from enemy attention and attack.
