The seemingly mighty empire of Subahu displays cracks and fissures. The leader of his own secret espionage organization, the Suras, Athikay is planning to stage a military coup on the eve of Rama Navami and assassinate the whole royal family in this process.

Athikay is aided in this endeavor by the chameleon-like, Shatadru who changes colors and sides faster than he changes clothes and the dreaded sea-pirate, Simhamukha. Aparaajitha's deception as the Princess of Suvarnadweepam has come to the notice of these three scoundrels. They have their doubts on Mrithyunjay's intentions too. However, they feign ignorance for reasons of their own, intending to manipulate all this information at a later date.

Narasimha has embarked on a journey of self-discovery while Shodasi Devi actually sets sail to Vijayapuri to lead the elite Persian military regiments and the inhabitants of Malava islands against Vijayamarthanda, Subahu's brother-in-law and one of his close allies. Aditya Varma and the rebels have joined hands with Aparaajitha and Mrithyunjay.
