It's been four years since then. Naruto is sitting in the Academy, with his class. He is sitting next to one Rock Lee, who is one of his best friends.

Naruto's outfit hasn't changed. The Hatake has a black mask that covers the lower half of his face. Naruto wears the standard attire of the Uchiha clan which includes a high-collared, black outfit along with the White Light Chakra Sabre strapped to the right side of the back of his shoulder. The outfit still has an orange tint to it. He also wears what appeared to be a harness for his tantō which ran across his chest and fastened over both his shoulders. His hair is what changed. Naruto grew his hair out. He now has spiky, silver-coloured hair that reached into the middle of his back tied in a ponytail and bangs that hung over his black clothed Konoha hitai-ate.

Lee has shiny black hair, which is quite long and fastened in a braid, round eyes with prominent lower eyelashes, and very thick eyebrows. He wears a white, short-sleeved kimono-shirt with a martial arts belt and dark pants, giving him a more traditional Chinese appearance. He also sported a Konoha hitai-ate and shinobi sandals.

He looks over to his rival Neji Hyuga. He has fair skin and long dark brown hair. When his Byakugan was not active he has featureless white eyes, which have a slight lavender tint. Neji wears a beige-coloured shirt, a dull blue shirt beneath that, and mesh armour beneath that. He wears dark brown shorts, blue shinobi sandals, and wrapped bandages around his right arm, chest, and right leg. Neji tied his hair back in a loose ponytail tied a few inches above the end. He also wears a black clothed Konoha hitai-ate, under which was a smaller headband with two straps that frame the sides of his face.

He then looks over to Tenten Higurashi. She has dark brown hair, and eyes. Tenten wears her hair in two Chinese-style buns on her head with short fringe-bangs framing her face. she wears a pink sleeveless qipao-style blouse, with red sleeve trimmings, yellow fastening buttons, and dark green pants. A pouch is adjusted to her thigh. Her Konoha hitai-ate and sandals are both blue.

This is when their Sensei enters the room. He says, "Since only four people passed this year you'll four will be on a team. This team consists of Naruto Hatake-Uchiha, Tenten Higurashi, Rock Lee, and Neji Hyuga. Your Sensei will be Might Gai. He'll be here after your lunch break. Good Luck! You will need it."

Now, Might Gai would have preferred to teach his eternal rival's son by himself. Kakashi was Gai's best friend, and despite how Kakashi acted toward Gai, he even thought of Gai as his best friend too. But, when he saw Lee train, he was fine with training him, and the others. Well that, and after a session, or two of running one hundred laps full speed around Konoha on the unyouthfulness of only wanting to train Naruto.

Gai is now seen running full speed toward the Academy. Even kicking down both the entrance to the Academy, and the classroom door.

Naruto, and the other three students look at their Sensei. Gai is a tall and well-muscled man. He has fair skin a strong jawline, a somewhat large nose, and black hair. He is most noticeable for his shiny bowl-style haircut and thick eyebrows. He wears a green jumpsuit, orange striped leg warmers, and the standard Konoha flak jacket, which he normally leaves unzipped. His red clothed Konoha hitai-ate is worn around his waist like a belt.

Gai says, "Hello my youthful students, follow me!"

And with that said, Gai leaves the room. Naruto, and Neji don't have much trouble keeping up with the Jounin. While Tenten has a little more trouble keeping up with Naruto, and Neji. Lee however, has the most trouble keeping up with the rest of his team. Even though Naruto has helped him with Taijutsu, stamina, and speed.

They followed Gai onto the roof of the Academy, where Gai says, "Hello my youthful students. I'm Might Gai, Konoha's Sublime Green Beast of Prey. It's now your turn to youthfully introduce yourselves."

Naruto says, "Yo! I'm Naruto Hatake-Uchiha. I like my Kaa-chan, and ramen. I dislike people who are perverts, rapists, sexists, and people who hate ramen, the Kami of all Foods, with Miso Ramen the Ramen no Kami. My hobbies are training, and tasting different ramen flavors. My dream is to be the first Uchiha to be the Hokage, and figure out why Itachi killed the clan."

Gai then comments, "Such a hip attitude you have Naruto!"

Naruto even though he doesn't know it yet, pulls a "Kakashi", and cleans his ear out with his pinky, and lazily asks, "Sensei? You said something?"

Gai just silently curses about how Kakashi's hip attitude has corrupted his son.

Tenten says, "Hello! I'm Tenten Higurashi. I like weapons, and collecting weapons. I dislike people who look down on Kunoichi. My hobbies are training, and collecting weapons. My dream is to be a legendary Kunoichi, on par with Tsunade-sama!"

Neji simply says, "I'm Neji Hyuga."

Lee says, "Hello. I'm Rock Lee, and my dream is to be an excellent Shinobi even though I can't use Ninjutsu, and Genjutsu. I like Training. I dislike mean people, and bullies. My hobby is also training."

Gai says, "Those are some youthful introductions. Tomorrow is your first mission."

Tenten asks, "What's the mission Gai-sensei?"

Gai answers, "Well each of you youthful students have to fight me one on one. You don't have to win. Anyway, good bye, and see you tomorrow at Training Ground 9!" He then runs away from them at top speed.
