chapter seven

Y/N's POV

The next few days felt like hell. Laurance had this underlying hatred for all of us for pointing out his change in character. Then, a few days turned into a week and he was more rebellious than ever.

Because of this, I've lost more interest in him. I don't favor this side of him whatsoever.

Vylad walks over to me and hands me a sharpie. I sigh to myself and grab onto it. We're signing a bunch of CDs today for the new album. People preordered them, and there was a certain amount of CDs that would be signed. Laurance has decided to ditch to be with Aphmau, but I couldn't care less. He's been doing this for a week now.

"I don't know if I'd rather sit on the floor and create a pile of CDs or just use the table," Vylad laughs, probably imagining a large tower of CDs surrounding him.

"While that sounds amazing, it's improbable that Leo will let us. I wouldn't try it anyway in case he grows angered like Laurance is causing him to be."

He looks at me with sad eyes. He couldn't care less and waved it away with his hand. He looks at the table Alex sits on and sits next to her. "And to think I thought he was cool."

Alex perks up at this and lifts an eyebrow. She looks between us, like she's examining the situation but shrugs her shoulders. She seems to have lost her interest in it.

Leo comes in with low expectations and boxes on a cart. He offers us a smile and places the cart next to Vylad. Vylad opens the boxes and smiles widely down at the CDs. The cases must look better in person again.

Vylad always gets excited about this. Of course we do too, but he shows such a childlike excitement that he manages to top us on excitement. I wouldn't trade that in for anything in the world.

Leo doesn't bother ask where Laurance is. The empty chair next to me makes it clear to see that he's out with Aphmau. Instead, he goes into the next room over and brings out another cart for us to put the CDs in.

He gives us the usual starter. How he'll be in the next room over, which is his office, and he'll stop by often to check on us. He gives us water and makes sure we snack before we get here.

I like when we take mini breaks when signing CDs. We goof around and drink water and eat snacks. When signing, we listen to music in the background so it isn't dead silent and we don't have to rely on conversation. Besides, sometimes we get little awards for signing the CDs during our breaks. Nothing big, but little things we enjoy.

Leo leaves the room after he squeezes each of our shoulders for reassurance. We've been talking lately on what to give Leo for Christmas. We do this every year. We chip in money and put it to the side. But now that Leo has a fiancée, we haven't decided if we wanted it to be something that may work for both of them or just a gift for him. The wedding is in a year, so we have a bit of time until we have to buy them a wedding gift. We've already gotten our weddings invitations. It would've been awkward if we weren't invited anyway considering we spend more time with him than our own actual families.

We start off by Vylad grabbing onto a CD and signing his name onto it. It then goes to Alex and she does exactly what Vylad does and then to me. When I finish, it goes into the box next to me. Surprisingly, it's a nice flow and may go quicker because Laurance isn't here. He's going to have to do these all by himself anyway when he decides to come.

"Vylad, have you told Y/N yet?"

"Tell me what? About Christmas? I thought we were still undecided."

Alex shakes her head and finishes off her signature, handing it off to me before putting her sharpie down on the table creating a small, unscheduled, break.

"I didn't really plan on telling her right at this second," he says, shrugging and grabbing another CD to sign.

I grow curious and urge Vylad to tell me, but he continues to be stubborn. This doesn't work that well because we're all stubborn in our own way.

"She's your sister," Alex says, trying to see if she could guilt him in anyway possible.

Somehow this is always the last resort. We remind each other about 'he's your brother,' 'she's your best friend,' or things like that. It typically makes us feel guilty for a little while until we crack. Sometimes it doesn't work, but sometimes it does.

". . . And you know she likes Laurance. I'm sure she'd like to know," she continues.

Fuck you Alex.

Vylad looks over at me before looking down at the CD. He fiddles with the Sharpie in his hand anxiously. He slowly nods his head before looking over at me. I can tell he feels guilty for not telling me and nervous for being outed.

"I think Aphmau just likes Laurance for his fame. . . or. . . is star struck with him," he admits, slowly beginning to write his name on the CD. Alex looks at him, pleased he admitted it before starting up the flow again by signing her name. "She's been flirting a lot with Garroth lately. She seems to really like him. Garroth told me this the other day because he felt bad and didn't know how to say something."

My mouth drops open. I wasn't expecting that out of Vylad's mouth. I swallow the lump in the back of my throat and put the CD into the cart with a shaky hand. "How'd Alex figure this out before me? Does Leo know?"

Vylad shakes his head. "I told Alex out of a panic. But Leo. . . he doesn't know. He'll hate Aphmau more."

"As he should."
