spiders
This was ridiculous. Bugs, specifically spiders, were Alexander's biggest fear. Why did his damn apartment have to be the one to get infested with fucking spiders? Now he had nowhere to sleep, and all of his stuff was inside of his demon-infested home. He wouldn't even be allowed back in for three weeks, due to the treatment they needed to use to get rid of the stupid creatures.
But, in the meantime, where the hell was he supposed to go? He didn't have money to stay at a hotel, and all of his friends lived on the opposite side of the city. Well, there was John, but it was still a little awkward when it was just the two of them. Alex didn't think he could handle that kind of tension for so long. The only other person he knew who lived nearby was... no. He couldn't.
Except, after taking a glance around, he could. It was twelve in the morning, he had just been informed that his apartment is infested with mildly venomous spiders, and he had literally nowhere else to turn. He would just have to swallow his pride and at least try asking.
He went down to the parking garage to get his car and drove to the next apartment building over. Alex pulled into the parking lot and just sat there for a while. He couldn't believe it had come to this. Would it really be so bad to just go over and ask John? They got along perfectly fine in a group, so they could probably make it work while they are one on one.
Who was Alex kidding? If they can't make it work while they get left alone together for five minutes, how could they make it work for three weeks. Alex sighed. This probably wouldn't work anyway. He can go to John after this plan falls through. He took a deep breath and got out of his car, realizing he wasn't sure what apartment number to even go to. He pulled out his phone, praying his call wouldn't go straight to voicemail.
It rang for a few seconds, and Alex realized how shaky his own breath was. He heard the sound of the phone being picked up.
"Hello..?" the voice answered. It sounded like the person it belonged to had just woken up. Alex bit his lip, and decided to reply.
"Hey, Jefferson, I need your help," Alex said. He was bracing himself for the call to end right then. It didn't.
"Wait- Alexander? What the fuck, man? It's a quarter to one in the damn morning, why are you calling me?" he asked, sounding severely annoyed.
"I can't be in my apartment for three weeks, so I was wondering if I could stay at yours," Alex explained. He couldn't believe he was asking Thomas Jefferson for help. He couldn't believe he was holding any kind of conversation with Thomas Jefferson. He heard a sigh over the phone.
"My apartment is only one bedr-" Alex cut Thomas off.
"I'll sleep on the couch. I'll sleep on the floor if I have to. Just please help me," Alex pleaded.
"Fine," Jefferson said. "Room 789." Thomas ended the call immediately, never being one to enjoy talking with people, especially not Alexander. Alex got out of his car and made his way up to Jefferson's apartment. He opened the door, which was unlocked, and saw Jefferson on the couch, waiting for Alex.
"So why didn't you just go to John?" Thomas asked, noticing how little stuff Alex had with him, and then making eye contact. Alex gave him a pained look, and Thomas nodded.
"Do you have any other stuff?" Alex shook his head.
"It was all I could grab before I got the hell out," Alex explained.
"And why did you have to get out of your apartment, again?" Jefferson questioned. Alex sighed.
"Infested with spiders. Poison ones at that," Alex said. Thomas raised his eyebrows.
"They just told to that at twelve in the morning today?" Alex nodded.
"Yup. They said it was urgent that they examine my place, and when they told me why, I couldn't get out fast enough," Alex said. Thomas raised his eyebrows even more.
"Are you... scared of spiders...?" Thomas asked slowly, trying not to smile. Alex flushed red and looked away.
"I never said that," Alex muttered. He looked up to see a smirk tugging at the corners of Jeffershit's lips.
Great.
Tommy will probably be more obnoxious to Alex in the next chapter, it just didn't work with this one.
