Do you recall the first book, Dirty Laundry?  Meet Chrissy, best friend of Talia, and sequel in her own story, Scandal!  Though personally, the only thing that I see that is really scandalous is the general way people gossip about her, both from professional tabloids, and small townees. 

The townees, it's a given.  She got knocked up from the wrong guy in her college days.  She was too kind to be part of the "it" crowd.  She was the weak link.  So they did the thing that typical backstabbing and shallow townees do.  They made fun of her.  All the time.  Then they started making fun of her daughter too.  Of course, that made her more than ready to hightail it out of there.

With the blessing of her parents, and Talia's brother Rex, she is in California now, seeing what she is made of.  Got herself a movie star with  a crush on her, another one that just happened to be very very rich, and her sweet new boss is ecstatic when "rumors" are being spread that she might hook up with his grandson, also her boss.

As if this isn't complicated enough, the father of her daughter comes back in the mix!  He's an asshole, so I admit I don't really care what happens to him.  Maybe learn some humility and (hopefully) fall in love with his daughter, as he was meant to love her all along.  He's so self absorbed though, I don't know....  I personally am rooting for the movie star, but the Rex and the rich boy, they are both sweet enough I do hope they get their own girl.  I wouldn't even mind if we got to see Jeremiah settle down.  Every girl needs her own fairy, and I'll leave it at that.  Jeremiah, we love you!  Though I will admit with this sequel, I'm kind of relieved not to see so much of Talia and Rex's grandfather who absolutely REFUSED to wear pants repeatedly!
