My dad would have loved this.  He always was a fan of stories of space exploration or tales with a dark twist.  This story is both.  Earth is dead.  And humans are spread about like a bunch of cockroaches just trying to survive.  Imagine their surprise, and relief, when they stumble on a planet where they can set roots again.  Is it an answer to their prayers?  Or is the entire planet just a giant roach motel that consumes them?  Not the best story if you like happy endings, but it does string you along with suspense and creatively distributed.
