Reckless
by IzzyJFitz 40 chapters COMPLETED
"Reckless" is a sequel to Izzy's first book, "Nameless." You finally get to see where the lovely Bella and her just as lovely, Ari, leave off. A prequel in "Nameless" paints a picture of Ari singing on table tops and kicking off drinks at yet another bar, and Isabella is trying to rescue her from herself, yet again. Folks, this story is meant to be a romance, but it will be a bittersweet, tear-jerker of an experience, making you want to hang onto every moment of the ride.
Isabella is certain now of her feelings. She wants nothing more than to sweep Ari off of her feet. If only it were that easy. Ari is a woman with a weight on her heart. She's hurt, and Bella is the reason for it. There's nothing that can be done to change it. What's done is done. So to cope, Ari drops the "let's be friends" bomb, much to Bella's dismay. Again, Ari is hurting, and Bella is the reason, so Bella is hurting too with the guilt of it; but when that friend bomb is dropped, another girl comes in.
Charli is a lovely, bad-ass, tiny little Russian woman. She is everything that Ari is not. Ari is needy and the type of woman that needs to be saved. Charli is steady, and the type of girl that would be the rock you can lean on. This leaves our Isabella in a three-ring circus, where she finds herself having to make a choice if she still wants to save Ari, or let herself be saved for once. To sweep a woman off of her feet, or her, herself be swept. THAT is the question!
As a reader that got to watch this book in the making, I along with everyone else got to fall in love with Charli, and feel just as torn as the writer Izzy, in which direction to go. I'll admit I was among the people, "I love Charli, but because I read the first book, I hate to see Ari forgotten." We also had some very deep conversations among ourselves, of our own experiences. Of falling in love all too soon, for the wrong type of person. Or getting your heart broken, and not being able to feel something for someone, that is truly a good person and deserves so much better than what you wish you could give them, but can't.
Also from the first book, Bella has figured out she is bisexual; but in the beginning, she only has experience in one. "How do girls even..." she finds herself asking herself. It leads to her "I'm not ready" to Ari, in the beginning of "Reckless," which hurts her deeply at the rejection, even if it is only for now. Throw in the friend bomb, add in Charli, and did I mention that Charli is "Lesbian, 100%"? And she finds Bella, oh so attractive. "Her eyes were smoldering."
There's also a guy named Apollo, and he's a sexy male version of Ari that Ari hangs around with all the time. I mean ALL the time! Get ready for a romance that will make you scream "WHY WHY WHY!" I don't like doing spoilers, but I was happy with the end. Was it the direction I wanted or not? Find out for yourself, in Izzy's story, "Reckless."
