Meet Ruby.   She is six years old.....at first.  She doesn't know it yet, but she is fated to be mated to Caleb, the future alpha male of his pack.  She meets him in the woods in his wolf form.  Caleb, at the moment, is 18 years old.  He's at the age when they seek their mates, and they more or less throw a huge party where everyone gets to mingle.  It was a long night for him, and he feels disappointed because she never came.  So he shifts into wolf form and just takes a run.  Imagine his surprise when he finds a little girl lost in the woods, and senses with absolute certainty, "She's mine." 

In most of the fated mates stories we see, werewolf or otherwise, we see a lot of these stories revolve around romance and lust.  This story though, it puts a twist on the werewolf bond, as a love that is unconditional.  It goes beyond mere lust, and will fit whatever need you have for that moment in time.  As Ruby put it, "Can I keep you?"  She was a lonely child.  She met her best friend in the woods, and named him "Storm."  He was her protector from day one.  He did have to bow out of her life in her adolescence for werewolf reasons, such as protecting his pack and town from being attacked; but that gave Ruby some time to grow up a little.  When he finally came back into her life, she got to see him as a person this time.  The hardest part for Caleb was figuring out how to tell her that he was there for her all along.  I mean, can you blame him?  How do you tell the love of your life "I'm a werewolf"?  But Ruby turns out to be much tougher than anyone realizes, especially to the werewolf broad that wants to take her place....

I'm a sucker for happy endings.  I chose to end reading where it would stay happy, but the author does give a bonus chapter for an alternate ending.  This ending chapter will give rise for a sequel if the reader is interested.  It's a really good story.  Fairly clean, pg13 at the most.  It also raises questions for the age gap, and how fathers feel about it.  By the way, Ruby's step father is also a werewolf.  So there will be some werewolf fighting over "my little girl!"  He's a family friend of Caleb too though, so don't be too alarmed.  The real fighting comes with the enemies, which this story will have.  All in all though, Caleb is a good guy who believes his girl is worth waiting for.  We truly do need more gentlemen like that in this world, werewolf or otherwise.
