Meet Riley.  Riley, well, she's a slut.  But like all "sluts," there is always a back story.  For one thing, her whole family is very self absorbed.  Uninvolved.  She is alone.  The lonely little lambs are always the ones that fall victim.  From what I can see, Riley is uncertain of what she wants, but doesn't really care enough about herself to say no.  She just knows that just for a few stolen moments, she feels good, and she doesn't care who it's with.

The whole idea of "stealing boyfriends" is very cliche in my opinion.  If it were that easy for him, then he was never theirs to begin with.  But who gets all the blame?  Riley.  "You stole my boyfriend!"  But there's no "How dare you for cheating on me!" like there should be.  She is the weak link.  The one without any real safety net.

I do like her best friend, but her real best friend is not the one you think.  This one has had Riley's back all along, while her other "friend" I always got the impression was just using her to get to Maddox.  Maddox...well, it could have led to something, but unfortunately he kind of looked down on Riley too, not being able to see past her past actions.  It was saddening to see how alone she was, how the people she backed, did not have hers.  Eventually, Riley just gets sick of it, and decides to start caring for herself.  And with that, she has a change of company, and hangs around people that have cared about her all along.

This story is about inner growth, and self examination, and of course, raging teenage hormones.  And boy are they wild!  It also lets you see a side of young women that is rarely talked about, and addresses their feelings, and the things they have to go through.  Sometimes names are said, and even though they put that mask on, words can still hurt.  And this story points out how we all treat one another.  And sometimes, it's ugly.  But if you are lucky, you can still find something beautiful.
