Admittedly, I am a fan of things like The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and Tales from the Crypt.  This story fits right on in.  Meet Mark.  He wakes up inside a dream (he hopes) and finds himself in a different world.  The house, his home, is the same, but where is family?  He goes outside, and this is not the neighborhood he knows.

The world he is in now, there is no stars or moonlit sky.  There is only blackness after the dusk, and if you are unlucky, the bleeding red sky.  Daylight is safe.  It's when night falls that the monsters come out.  Quite fascinating how he manages to find a lantern that keeps the monsters at bay.

Mark makes some friends along the way, but it is a mystery to him as to how they got there.  They won't tell him how, and Mark, like everyone else, has temporary amnesia on how he got there.  "You'll remember soon enough."  It's something that everyone else knows but doesn't want to talk about.

Very saddening thing that happened to a young woman.  She turned into one of "them" when she was attacked.  But her sister was right that she was "still there."  She was there enough that she didn't like being a monster, and she held onto that lantern light even as it destroyed her, not wanting to remain what she had become. 

I don't think "the others" were able to do that.  This one was innocent.  The innocent always manage to hang on.  All "the others" are just gone.

The writer is at the moment undecided if he will finish it or not, as this writing thing, is only something that he dabbles in for personal entertainment, and lets face it folks.  Unless you are already a published author, we all have our own lives outside of Wattpad.  But the chapters themselves, you can easily put yourself in the mind of Mark, and the descriptions of the sights he sees, well if you are the sensitive type, they will be the type of visions that can give you nightmares.  So if you are looking for thrills, please try out this story.
