Meet Phil.  Phil, (at first,) is a regular guy from  our regular world.  He looks a little exotic as his dad was Russian and his mother was Asian.  Has a beautiful girlfriend.  An albino, beautiful, girlfriend.  One of my favorite scenes in this story was when they were at the mall, and her shoulders started to stoop from all the folks staring and taking pictures of her on their phones without even asking her.  He dealt with it by giving her a very public, passionate kiss, and making a point to make eye contact and flip-off the the folks that were bothering her.  They got the hint and moved on. 

But this being a fantasy, Phil doesn't remain in just our regular world for long.  With a series of some very tragic events, Phil manages to wake up in a new world, in a new form, with mirror images of people from his own home world, but in a thwarted kind of way.  He is mostly just trying to cope and make sense of it. 

Very descriptive imagery, and the characters, you either love them or hate them, sometimes both.  Very well placed chain of events.  You can't help but want to ride along.

Pros:  This story is just plain epic.

Cons:  An average of about 6,000 words per chapter maybe more for each chapter.  If you are a binge-reader, you had best learn to pace yourself for this story or you just may hurt yourself.

Why you should read this story:  Phil, in both worlds, teaches you all about survival, love, loss, and learning how to pick yourself up and carry on.  I can't wait to see the sequel.
