Chapter 2
Keith awoke to it being colder than yesterday. It was a weekend, so he thought about sleeping in. But it was so cold! What was that about?
He sat up and stretched. Then he walked too the window and opened the shutters.
He was met with a rush of even colder air. He gasped and smiled.
The world was white, covered in soft snow! A freak blizzard must have blown in overnight!
He smiled even wider at the thought of Lance. Lance loved Snow!
Keith quickly threw on his coat and walked to Lance's house. He would've ra, but didn't want to slip.
"Lance!" He called to the window. He didn't want to hit Lance with a pebble again.
Lance opened the shutters and gasped. "Wh-what is this?!" He exclaimed.
"It snowed last night! C'mon!" Keith smiled.
Lance laughed with joy. He was quickly outside with Keith.
...
Lance was looking in awe at the snow.
"Just...AH! What's do we do first?!" Lance giggled with excitement.
"How about...this!" Keith threw a Snowball at Lance.
Lance fell back and laughed.
"Snowball fight it is!"
_____
Keith and Lance walked into the shop giggling and wet from the snowball fight.
"C'mon! You have to admit, I totally won!" Lance boasted.
"Only cuz you used your magic to make the snowballs faster than I could!" Keith shoved Lance playfully.
"Hello boys!" Corran, the shop owner smiled. "You here for some hot coco?"
"Yes please!" Lance smiled.
Corran gave them both a cup.
"Be careful out there boys, it's awful cold. Don't want the Snow Queen to get you!"
"The Snow Queen?" Keith asked.
"An evil witch banished to the far north of the world," Corran said. "But they say her spirit lies just on the edge of our village near the woods!" Corran make spooky motions.
Keith sneezed.
"She also gives colds," Corran finished.
The three laughed, but keith seemed nervous.
"It's just a myth," Lance said softly. "Nothing to be scared of!"
Keith nodded. "I wasn't scared!"
"Sure buddy," Lance smirked.
The two put down their cups and paid Corran.
"What next?" Lance asked.
"Lets go sledding!" Keith smiled.
"Alright!"
...
"Ok! Lets do this!" Lance panted as they reached the top of their hill.
"C'mon!" Keith said. "Lets get on and-crap-!"
The two watched as the sled slid down the hill without them.
Lance flopped into the snow. "Nope, I'm not climbing this hill again."
Keith chuckled. "Fair enough. I'll go get it!" Keith trudged carefully down the hill.
Keith dug around in the snow for the white sled.
"Where is it?" He grumbled as his hands became cold. "Ah HA!" He smiled as he found it under a big pile. He ripped it out, snow flying everywhere.
"Ah!" Keith fell back and grabbed his eye, as something had gotten caught in it. "Ow!" He rubbed his eye, trying to get whatever it was out.
Suddenly Keith felt kinda funny. He was no longer in a good mood, he was in pain and upset. He was angry, annoyed.
"Keith!"
Keith looked up and saw Lance.
"Keith are you ok?" Lance asked, reaching his hand out.
Keith slapped it away. "I'm fine," he grumbled.
"K-keith what's wrong?"
"N-Nothing," keith sighed. "I'm going to go home."
Keith walked away from Lance, leaving him alone in the cold.
