After parking the ship in the middle of nowhere, and heading back to Feracon Inn, they saw Macy and Talon sitting there.

"Oh! Hey guys- What is that?" Macy asked.

Nova just narrowed her eyes. "...I know what you did."

Macy gulped. "U-Uhhh, did what?"

"Yeah! We, uhh, have no idea what you're talking about!" Talon said, blushing out of nervousness and embarrassment.

"On any other day, I'd slap you both for possibly traumatizing Dean, cause of his stupid narrations. But today is probably the one chance we're close to winning, so you're safe for now." Nova said, setting the canon down on the floor.

Macy grabbed her goggles, lowering them over her eyes and then kneeling down towards the canon. "Hmmm..."

"Think you can give it some extra juice to distort the forcefield?" Eclipse asked.

Macy gave a thumbs up, picking up and the canon and heading to her room. "Just give me an hour or so! I'll be right back!" She then quickly kissed Talon's cheek before heading off.

Talon smiled, quietly purring.

"Wow. You guys haven't even dated for 2 weeks and you're already lovey dovey." Nova blinked. "But then again, this is an alien invasion, you're an alien, she's a human turned mutant fox, and I'm the only human of the group. Guess I can't question the logic or pacing."

Eclipse shrugged, sitting next to Talon. "True."

Talon then faced Nova. "Alright. We'll have to make our move tonight. We can't let Shard heal. EVER."

"That's what I was thinking. Any ideas on how we're gonna get there?" Nova asked.

Talon shook his head. "I know where it is, but it would take a lot of walking, and I don't think we'd be strong enough to lug that big canon around AND fight an army of Shade."

"We could take one of your Earthling vehicles." Eclipse suggested.

"No, that would blow our cover. We need to be subtle." Talon told her.

"A hover car?" Eclipse suggested again.

"Maybe. We don't exactly plan to run away, so it wouldn't matter if we're being tracked." Nova said, scratching her chin.

"Hmmm...Actually. I might have an idea." Talon said with a grin. "But it has to go off without a hitch."

Meanwhile...

Maddie paced around the Base of Operations, since she, Conker, and a bunch of other Shade Warriors were the guards. But she was a little worried.

"What's wrong?" Conker asked, curious.

"Savage hasn't come back in a while..." Maddie said, rubbing her tibial spines together.

"He'll be fine." Conker said, rolling her eyes.

"But what if he isn't?!" Maddie exclaimed.

"He's a dragon! It's not like he's gonna die!" Conker said before the alarm blared and she instantly went on guard, looking out.

There was a hover car, but it was out of control. As if someone was fighting the driver for control. It eventually crashed into a tree, smoke rising from the hood.

The Shade all hopped down, blasters, guards, and blades alike as they all surrounded the hover car.

A Shooter raised one of their hands. "Come out with your hands in the air! Or be destroyed!"

Then, there was the sound of a struggle and Nova came flying out, groaning in pain as a Shade Smasher stepped on her back. They were a light gray color.

"The leader of The Rebels!" A Slasher exclaimed, shocked.

The Smasher was clearly hurt, but he would live. "She tried to steal the hover car from me. Something's going on with them. They're planning an attack...I think."

'Dumbasses.' Nova thought to herself with a small smirk before she was grabbed by her arms and lifted up.

"We'll take her to a cell. Commander Shard will speak to her when he's fully healed." A Shooter said as he and a Slasher walked with Nova into the base, using a retina scan to get through the forcefield.

"You, head to med bay. We need all soldiers prepared in case this kind of attack happens again." Another solider told the Smasher.

The Smasher nodded, but then fell down. A few of the Shade grabbed him and helped him get through the forcefield. And after walking through the base, they dropped him off at med bay.

"We haven't had an injured in a while." One of the medics said sarcastically as they rested the Smasher on an operating table and then left the room.

The Smasher was left alone for a good 5 minutes, and then he smirked before sitting up, and then pressed something on his wrist. Then, the Smasher's form disappeared and transformed into Talon.

Talon chuckled. "I was always a good actor."

"You actually seemed convincing!" Eclipse said over her com. "Me and Macy are in position."

"The cannon ready?" Talon asked as he snuck away into the shadows, using his completely black and purple body to effortlessly blend in with the darkness.

"Ready as it'll ever be." Macy said with a grin. "Like the cloaking device? I even added a built in voice changer."

"It worked perfectly." Talon chuckled quietly before sneaking out of med bay, and then hiding up against the wall. He then disguised himself as a golden Shooter and started walking around normally. "The power of the forcefield still goes up, even when the generator's taken out. But a power outage will cause The Shade to panic. When I give the signal, blast at the forcefield and I'll cut the power completely." Talon whispered.

"Right, love." Macy said over the com.

Talon kept sneaking around before he saw two guards at the power generator's doors. He cursed under his breath before walking over. "General Kreji sent me to check on the power generator."

One of the guards tilted their head. "Why? What's wrong with it?"

"We just captured a prisoner, and he wants to make sure that they didn't sneak any human technology in here that might take it out."

The other guard nodded. "Yeah, that would make sense. Have you ever tried out one of those shiny rectangles? They're pretty cool."

"Really? I never tried one of them." The first guard said as both of them let Talon through and inside...cause they're dumb and focused more on the world's technologies than their job.

Talon then closed the door behind him and then looked at the power generator. He grinned and then turned back, and unleashed his blades. "NOW!" Talon cried into the com.

He then lunged at the generator and sliced it in half. And just like that, everything in the base except the forcefield protecting it went down. Talon heard screams outside the door, they must have been panicking over the outage.

The two guards went inside the pitch black room, but could only see Talon's glowing eyes. Talon grinned and spun around into a tornado, taking the guards out. Talon then grabbed another device Macy made him, and put them on. They were night vision lenses.

He activated them and then started crawling around the base, but still sneaking around in case one of the guards or warriors had night vision as well. He would need to find Shard quickly before he noticed what was going on.

After a while of walking, he found something. A room with a giant green light inside, but the door was closed. Talon knew who was in there and quickly cut open the door and kicked himself inside...but then he saw a giant, glowing green, test tube.

Shard was inside, his eyes closed and floating inside the liquid.

Talon was about to cut Shard's life support, but then saw what he was doing. He began reading aloud on the computer screen next to the test tube. "Mutation Progress: 80%. Upgrade Progress: Waiting for command." He then gasped. "He's trying to do both?! Does he have a death wish?!" He then blinked. "But then again, I'd gladly let the bastard kill himself."

He then raised one of his arms, ready to cut the power on the tube and kill Shard. If the mutation process was interrupted, then he'd just die after being let out of the tube.

But then, Shard suddenly phased out of the tube and he was gone...a hologram.

Talon stood back, confused before his purple eyes widened as he heard footsteps. "Oh, no."

"Did you really think it would be that easy...?"
