Chapter 16- Dreams

(uh, almost 600 reads?! Thank ya'll so much- sorry that the updates have been slower lately...)

POV: Tango

Of course Viper had to cause more trouble, with that demon. Sure, I get called a demon sometimes, but really?! A demon-cat?! It didnt even have a mouth! It's eyes were so... white. The sun was starting to set, and I had been working on the Toon Towers for hours now. It looked good. I was happy with what I had accomplished today.

Hey, sure, I met a demon-cat, but at least it hadn't followed me. That things was weird. What did Viper call it? Allison? No, it was something else... Oh, right, Allister.

But that demon could read my thoughts! It was creepy! Almost as creepy as the fact that I was, indeed, a salamander. Weird, I know. But it wasn't my fault! It was all Viper's fault. And Scar's, I suppose. Why did he have to bring her back in the first place?

With the light fading, I ducked into one of the larger Toon Towers, where I had my bed. I flopped down on it, but didn't sleep. I just laid there, thinking. But I finally fell asleep, thankfully. But I had the weirdest dream ever.

Third Person Dream POV

Tango stepped out of a swirling gray portal, into a flat, barren field of gray grass. The Graylands. There was one tree, in the center of the field, and there sat three people. One, in a dark red sweatshirt and brown hair. Viper. The next, a man with fluffy ginger hair, and a black sweatshirt. Next to him, a woman with very light pink hair, and unlike the other two, she was wearing a short sleeve shirt instead of a sweatshirt. They were laughing, even though Tango couldn't hear it. In fact, he couldn't hear anything. He saw the ginger-haired man say something, and Viper and the other smiled and nodded. There were three swords against the tree, and they each picked up one. In Viper's hand, was an elegant raven-black blade with a deep red handle. The ginger-haired  man wielded a silver blade, with a dark green handle, the pink-haired woman drawing a shining blue sword, with a black handle. Almost like a diamond sword. Viper said something with a smile, and the man and woman nodded. They looked the same age as her, however old they all were.

The ginger-haired man lunged forward, swiftly and with skill. He held is sword in only one hand, his right. He almost got to Viper, but she swiftly moved out of the way, with a smirk. The ginger-haired man smiled, moments before Viper swung her sword. He dodged, turning around, and his blade met the shining blue one. Viper came from behind him, but he must have known, because he shot out of the way, leaving only Viper and the pink-haired woman. Their swords clashed, Tango knew it, despite not being able to hear. They looked like they were having so much fun, reminding him of Zed and Impulse.

The ginger-haired man's blade met the other's as he shot forward, in between them. He took them both on with such skill, despite Viper not giving her all. Tango knew it, because she had done so much better at their scuffle. He managed to fling the sword out of the pink-haired woman's hands. The fighting stopping. He bowed, she tipped an imaginary hat. He could see them exchanging words, before turning back to Viper. She smiled, drawing her blade again. She  fought with much more skill this time, but still not able to match him. After only a few moments, the sword was knocked out of  Viper's hands. She smiled and shook his hand, laughing. They left the swords on the grass, not giving it a second thought as Viper dashed off. The two remaining shrugged and gave chase. They were able to catch up with her, despite her sprinting. She was fast, but they were faster. The ginger-haired man was running at her side now, the pink-haired woman steps behind. The ginger-haired man stopped, the pink-haired woman stopped at his side. He winked, and so did she. Viper was getting farther ahead, almost out of Tango's sight. So, he ran. He ran faster than he could back at home, to his surprise. Moments later, he was only feet behind the man and woman. They picked up running, sprinting after Viper. Giant white wings with pastel blue and pink feathers sprouted from the mans back. They were beautiful, just like the womans wings. Hers were white, black at the tips of the feathers. In unison, they took off into the air, shooting forward, now above Viper. She continued on foot. The flying couple touched back down on the ground about 10 feet in front of Viper, touching down on the ground and running with skill. Tango ran beside them, not tiring out. They were approaching a huge tunnel in the ground, and from his spot beside Viper, he saw her yell something, and the man was replaced with a huge lion. The woman flew onto its back, the lion tearing across the grass with amazing speed. Then, being just feet away from the hole, he shifted back. The two people ducked into the hole together. Viper, surprisingly, ran faster. She stopped outside the hole, smiled, and ducked in.

(Back from the dream world)

POV: Tango

I woke up, startled by the weird dream. Was that really Viper? Who were those two people? Was that just a dream, or did it really happen?

I decided to go visit Impulse to tell him about it. It was probably nothing, though. I rigged up a rocket, shooting off into the sky. I ducked into Impulses base, finding him still asleep on his couch. I decided not to wake him, I could always wait until he woke up. So I shot off, back to the Toon Towers.

Third Person Dream POV

Impulse found himself dreaming in a world of no color. He was in the sky, standing like he would on a normal block. He could walk around, like the sky was solid. Below him were colorless trees. Above him, two flying figures. A woman, looking very similar to Viper, was flying with a pair of brilliant silvery-white wings. Beside her, a cat with darker gray wings. They shot through the sky, Impulse following them. He walked on the clouds and the sky with ease. This was a weird dream, for sure. Then things took a turn for the worse. Viper started falling from the sky. Impulse was unable to hear, but he was sure she screamed.

Lucky for her, her wings broke her fall. For the most part. Unfortunately, they were mangled and broken from the impact. The cat touched down next to her, before flying off. She waited, and it looked like she was crying. She was trying to move her wings, but could only move one of them. And only a little bit.

Minutes later, two figured shot through the sky. One a man, one a woman. They carefully landed next to Viper, who was in a small clearing with no trees. The man, with ginger hair and a dark green sweater, similar to Grian's, sat behind Viper, looking at her wings. He asked her something, and she shook her head. The woman, who's hair was a light shade of pink, was shuffling through a small case. She looked up at the man, asked something, and the ginger shook his head sadly. She took his place, and started wrapping the broken parts of the wings in bandages. The winged-cat sat in Vipers lap, she was petting it's head. After a few minutes, the pink-haired woman stood up, helping Viper up with her. Vipers wings disappeared, like the man and woman's had earlier. Then they all started to walk through the forest, the cat still in Vipers arms.

There was a bright white flash, surprising Impulse. He was suddenly on the ground, sitting in the grass. There were two children, not much older than 6 or 7, playing in the grass. Impulse recognized them. It was younger versions of the ginger-haired man and Viper. He could see them laughing, but couldn't hear them, not to his surprise.

Now the two kids were happily playing chase, the ginger shifting to a lion cub from time to time. Impulse didn't know about this playful side of Viper, seeing as they weren't very friendly towards each other. Or, maybe she had just changed. Changed from the playful kid she was. Impulse was like that. He was always the class clown, and he still could be, but redstone had made him think less like a fool. But he loved redstone. Impulse watched the two play a game of tag, before there was another white flash, and he was awake.

---------------------------------------------------------------

POV: Impulse

That was a really, really weird dream. I would have to tell Tango about it later. But for now, I could work on my base. Yes, that's what I would do today.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Third Person Dream POV

Unlike Impulse and Tango, Grian's dream was of a more recent time. Days ago, actually. The blonde little gremlin was presented with a large grassy field, where two people sat. A redheaded man sat in the grass with a paper and pen. Grian, intrigued, walked over to them, but stayed a few feet away. He watched as the ginger male wrote something on the piece of paper. He finally handed it over to the woman sitting next to him. She read it and nodded. She folded it, and put it into a small envelope. She gave it to a small cat-like creature next to her. It's tail swished and it ran off. A winged cat and weird kangaroo followed after it.

The woman looked over to the redhead and sighed. She said something, which  Grian didn't hear. He couldn't hear anything. He said something back. They sat together, talking and laughing. But the worry for something was still present. They made flower crowns, skillfully weaving the flowers together. The flowers were gray but still held beauty. The man placed his finished crown upon the womans head, and she but her crown on his. They laughed, and began to make more. They made flower necklaces, like Grian had done with Ren and Impulse last season. They made more flower crowns. Grian just stood and watched the two. They seemed very happy with eachother.

Then the scene changed. Now, instead of two people making flower crowns, was two people and a cat. A demon-cat.

He recognized Viper, and the redhead from earlier. And he recognized Allister.  The pink-haired woman stood there helplessly, not able to help. Viper and the redhead's eyes were both a shade of dark red, Things moved quickly, almost like a timelaps. And, indeed, it was. Day turned to night in a matter of minutes. Viper and the redhead just sat there, with no control. Finally, just before Grian woke up, Allister left, and Viper and the redhead were set free of the torture.

Hope you all enjoyed! Just to clear something up, in the dreams I referred to Shard as a woman, because none of them would have known they were genderfluid and identified as they/them. And, if you have nothing nice to say about the LGBTQ+ community, please just stay quiet. We dont need negative comments here.

Anyway, I really enjoyed writing this! These were all things that happened in Viper's life, even if it was just small scenes. Have a good rest of your day, yall! Or night, ofc.
